April 28, 201313 yr Member I think Krista Tesreau (original Mindy GL) would have been a good Patty Williams recast on Y&R instead of that mess we wound up with. I like Krista as Tina, I guess it's because she was playing Tina when I first started seeing OLTL
April 28, 201313 yr Member I agree on Kayla role but I think many forget that Catherine Mary Stewart Originated the role in 1982 Yeah true. From episodes I have seen, synopsis I have read, Catherine Mary Stewart didn't seem to be an integral part of the show. I don't know of any major storylines she had as Kayla. Thus I can imagine not many remember she was ever in the role.
April 29, 201313 yr Member Her Kayla kicked off the Brady/Horton pairings, She briefly dated David Banning. I think Mary Beth's Kayla dated Mike briefly, I am unsure on that one..
August 11, 201312 yr Member Reading a November 1975 Daily TV Serials, where Mart Hulswit realized that Pat Collins, who was playing a surgeon in an OR scene with Ed, had played Ed as a small child. They compared notes on the character.
August 11, 201312 yr Member Different writing though. Here's a clip of Roya Megnot's brief return as Ava, filling in for Lisa Peluso. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ts9ziiJGrk Roya was perfect as Ava. I never managed to warm up to Lisa Peluso's version of the character. It's funny how Ava - created by Douglas Marland- was more or less a Nola Reardon type as played by Patty Lutz and once he was gone Roya's Ava was more of an Erica Kane - but never a caricature- with Lisa Peluso being a Tina Roberts type.
August 14, 201312 yr Member To me, Roya's Ava was like a blend of Erica and Tina. She had traits of both vixens, looks like Erica, but that sort of adolescent kittenish quality of Tina.
August 15, 201312 yr Member Did you see the Savage and Tatum Gwyn clips that have been uploaded? (Savage and Tatum sound like a one-hit wonder from 1984)

August 30, 201312 yr Member Mark Arnold did NOT replace Joey Alan Phelps in the role of Gavin on The Edge of Night. Mr. Arnold was the only actor to ever play Gavin. After his departure from that show, he played Rob Coronal #2 on One Life to Live and later had a role on the serial Santa Barbara. Joey Alan Phelps originated the role of Kelly McGrath (Pollock). He appeared on around two or three episodes before the show dismissed him. (I heard that he broke the morality clause.) Allen Fawcett replaced him as Kelly and appeared on the show until the character was written off the show.

August 30, 201312 yr Member I am not sure what Patricia Bruder meant about being replaced. She and the original actress who played Ellen (Wendy Drew) were the only actresses that I can remember who played the role. There was a single episode that I can remember in which there were two temporary actresses playing Penny and Ellen. One of the actresses (I think playing Penny) looked like, and may have been, Abaigail Kellogg. I don't remember how the temporary Ellen looked. I know that Patricia Bruder was written off the show several times, once in the 1960s and once in the 1970s. Maybe that actress playing Ellen was not temporary, and the show had replaced Patricia Bruder. I am not sure what Patricia Bruder meant about being replaced. August 30, 201312 yr Member Joey Alan Phipps, not Phelps, lasted far longer than two or three episodes. He joined the show in late April/early May 1980 and was on until late June 1980. In fact, he got to do a few scenes with Lori Loughlin's Jody Travis. Allen Fawcett replaced Phipps in early July, I believe. Morality clause? That seems odd since Edge had no problem keeping Dennis Parker on as Derek Mallory and Parker had a career in porn.
