June 21, 201510 yr Member Lol. I like the chorus at least. It sticks with you! OMG, I still actually haven't seen it & can't find on YT. I guess it's still only on that flood website LOL....Jay Z isnt getting my coins or hits
June 22, 201510 yr Author Member Bitch I'm Madonna is one of my favorite songs right now. The video is out there on the web if you do a little googling. I love it and all the celeb cameos.
June 23, 201510 yr Member Bitca, please!!!! (Not you, Vix ) I love Madonna, but I lived for Nicki's part of that song...and her appearance in the video was EVERYTHING.
July 22, 201510 yr Member Nicki: Black women are literally being cheated by the music industry Taylor Swift: Uhm thats very unfeminist of you sweetie Nicki:
July 22, 201510 yr Member Both of them need to calm down. It's the VMA's, not a Nobel Prize. YOU ARE BOTH GOING TO BE OKAY. That said, Taylor's tweet about having Nicki come up on stage if she wins Video of the Year did wind up sounding a bit condescending, even if she didn't mean for it to be. And Nicki absolutely has a point. Edited July 22, 201510 yr by MissLlanviewPA
July 22, 201510 yr Member Hmmm... Someone who thrives off of shitting on Black women for shits and giggles yet'll be quick to hide the hands that she throws the rocks at a white girl with vs. Someone who's been riding high off of her white privilege since a dusty squirrel went and made her cry on an awards show that hasn't been relevant since Arsenio hosted it Needless to say, I'm on Team I-Hope-Both-of-Their-Careers-Implode Edited July 22, 201510 yr by VirginiaHamilton
July 22, 201510 yr Member Shirley Manson from the band Garbage wrote a Facebook post about this. Spot on. In light of the ridiculous brouhaha surrounding the VMA's and in the interests of our collective suffering, let's just decide to give each and every citizen of the world a VMA. Alternatively, we could save ourselves a lot of trouble and grief if we just allow the biggest, most popular stars to decide what awards they do or do not want and leave it at that. When did brilliant, accomplished, wealthy and truly blessed individuals start behaving like spoilt kids who didn't win first prize at an egg and spoon race? In music there has never been nor will there ever be, any such thing as "best". Award shows were invented to make money. They don't actually mean much. Yeah it's nice to get one. But it means jack [!@#$%^&*] if you don't.
July 22, 201510 yr Member Especially a VMA.... like I lived for this and the Movie awards as a kid because it was actually fun and the internet isn't what it is today. SO you could really enjoy watching it and the people nominated really had fricking talent and nowadays I look at nominees, performances, winners etc and just smh.
July 24, 201510 yr Member The VMAs actually used to be about quality videos and not star power. I was shocked at how little awards Michael Jackson won there. With the advent of social media this award show in particular has become about pleasing Twitter stans.
July 26, 201510 yr Member ^^^^I have actually heard that she and Selena Gomez were somewhat responsible for making that popular, in part from performing it in concert. So...yeah. Make of that you will. I think Cheap's head just exploded in rage.
August 6, 201510 yr Member I've been lurking on this thread because I have become kind of obsessed with Nicki Minaj and listening to Pinkprint a LOT lately. It's interesting to hear the different opinions from everybody and it is helping me to not jump on the OMG SHE'S AMAZING bandwagon right away on the basis of a few songs. But I do enjoy her stuff, and want to listen to more of her older material now to get a better idea of her evolution. I still think The Night is Young is a great pop jam and Feeling Myself, Bed of Lies and Anaconda are such ear worms, I literally cannot get them out of my brain. Anyhoo, hope to read y'all some more.
