Don’t know if this has been discussed yet on here or not, but can somebody PLEASE tell me the reason why B&B has been uploading every single episode (by premieres) from the show daily and is now on episode 527 and Y&R hasn’t done it yet??? It’s truly so frustrating because we all know that every single episode of Y&R has been saved and is just sitting in archives with nothing being done with them. They don’t understand what a goldmine they’re sitting on.

Brad Bell owns The Bold and the Beautiful, so they have a lot more autonomy on how they can distribute the show from a rights perspective. Sony owns Y&R, so that makes distribution far more complicated.

I wish they’d just sell the Y&R archives to Bradley. I’d never trust him with writing the show but he certainly can give us access to every episode from day 1 if he wanted!

Yes, I definitely agree!!! I wonder what it would take to get the show sold back to Bradley and what the terms of the original Sony contract were. Could you imagine seeing each episode from the first moment in perfect quality!?!? It would be just amazing!!! Think of all we haven't seen yet and have just either read about or heard minimal audio of...

Hahaha, I haven't read that expression in years! JW rocked the s--t outta that big ass hair well into the 1990s.

She really did. I LIVED for her hair toss in the red opening during the original Mac and Billy era.

It's incredible. Just when I thought the well of YR vintage clips had run dry, we get this! Who would have ever thought we'd see the full Vanessa funeral.

I have to say... I know Lorie was always known to be a stubborn, headstrong character... but I am finding her a bit annoying TBH. In these recent clips, she just won't listen to reason. I guess you could partially attribute it to the shock of Vanessa jumping, but still... I'm getting Sami Brady vibes.

I actually do think the Vanessa/Lorie stuff sort of parallel's, Kate framing Sami for murder on Days! :D  All 4 characters do have similar troupes when you think about it.

Y&R was always a joint venture between Bell and Screen Gems (aka now Sony), with Corday Productions owning a minority stake. Bell didn't sell anything to anyone.

Oh, I never knew Sony was previously Screen Gems. Thank you for clearing that up! So then I wonder why B&B was never owned partially owned by Sony as well…or was/is it???

For those following the Lorie edits. I have put together a rough guide to the dates of the clips.

The only mistake I made was "Vanessa and Lucas drop by, Vanessa jumps to her death" I believe this was Nov 06, 1981 and was shown again on Nov 09, 1981.

Why aren't they uploading B&B 2000-2005 episodes? They have uploaded everything else from 2006 on wards.

@will81 thank you, thank you! As someone who is obsessed with watching things in order, this helps so much! It will get messy once they get into 1982 when we have the other big set of clips.

No one outside of the Bell family has ever owned even a portion of B&B.  That's how Bill and Lee Phillip Bell wanted it when they created and developed the show.  That way, they could keep B&B in the family, without any meddling from any outside, corporate entities.
