I wish some more early Y&R stuff like that would show up. I wonder if Janice Lynde has complete episodes of her Y&R work or if those were clips she had used for an emmy or demo reel ?

There seems to be lots of late 70's/early 80's GH available, but no Y&R. Somebody had to be taping in those days.

As cheesy as these ad were, they seemed effective. I hate that soaps aren't catchy with their ads anymore. A great ad can do so much in the long haul.

Gosh, I hate being a late 80s baby. I would've enjoyed soaps in the 80s. At least I got to enjoy the last golden age of soaps--the 90s, so I can't complain too much.

wow, that's so cool! I can't believe you found something like this....I wonder if it's a bunch of clips that were once deleted off youtube or a DVD someone put together, but wow lots of rare clips!! I loved it.....in so many ways though it made me wanna cry as this was truly a lookback to the show that was once Y&R.....how can they ruin such a beautiful think after it went so strong for nearly 30 years....this was almost like a "farewell" tribute to Jeanne Cooper, Katherine, The Chancellors and whoever sustained Y&R for the first 30 years....

some of my favorite clips were seeing the scenes from summer 1993 with Liz returning and interacting with Jess Walton for the first time....and the Abbotts thinking they got Jabot back (though that made me sad to think of what was to come)

Loved seeing more of Deborah Adair Jill and everyone shaming Dina....remember when the Abbotts were an actual family and Jill was a apart of that family and not a worthless Cane and Lily prop?...

Also loved seeing more of the 70's Kay and Jill flashbacks as well as the rare Brenda scene with Katherine and the presents....it was almost comedic....

The Paul/April flashbacks were great too...I guess those were taken from various 1993-1994 episodes? though I I recognize one of the flashback sequences from a 1992 episode I uploaded...

sigh....I just wish someone would show this to JFO or Pratt but they would probably gag at the site of something like that....

And request they'd be taken off Youtube immediately.

Actually that '93 scene between Liz and Jill reminded me of something. Y&R never really has had a matriarch in the same vein as Nancy Hughes, Bert Bauer, Alice Horton, or Mary Matthews has it? Liz does remind me a little of Ada from AW though. I guess there is always Mary Williams but who in their right mind would try to share coffee with her?

Liz(Julianna) should have definitely stayed on in the 80's and 90's to play off Jill and Katherine.

Loved Peter Bergman's comments about Bill Bell's writing and how characters stayed on course.Interesting contrast to his positive spin on Chuck Pratt's nonsense.

This month marks the 25th anniversary of the arrivals of Kimberlin Brown, Victoria Rowell, and Tonya Lee Williams. I know Kimberlin's first episode was online years ago, but I don't recall seeing Victoria or Tonya's first episodes anywhere.

Sadly, yesterday was the 2nd anniversary of Jeanne Cooper's passing. May she RIP.

Don't know if this video is posted but Jeanne is hilarious in this (starting at 4:00): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzendVxnqJI

    • I would put Felicia in the 'small dose' auntie category because she means well, but comes on too strongly at times.  In small doses, she would be a blast to hang out with.. but in anything larger than a small... she would be exhausting. I tend to prefer lower key people than people that are always 'on' all the time.  Those people can veer off into energy vampire status pretty quickly.
    • I didn't like the Harry story, but Nazar did have a great introduction. He was probably the highlight of last year.  Now that you mention it, I guess the truly dire stories (Nicole, Harper/Drew/Phil, Nicole) didn't start until summer.
    • thank you all for contributing to the Vault. I am slowly getting towards watching the 1998 episodes

    • I pray⏤and I know it's a big prayer⏤that Noel Maxam is somehow able to figure things out budget-wise so we can stop re-dressing existing sets as "new" sets. I know in apartment buildings apartments can generally look the same, but I'm over it on this soap. The last time he was executive producer was in 2011 when the original Horton Town Square was introduced, and we had some other sets get introduced around this time (likely pre-commissioned prior to his election), but I'm trying to have some hope he can pull this off. Let's [finally] see it.
    • Definitely not the best of RC's breakdowns. I don't know what it says that I could pick up his trademarks yesterday 30 minutes in without even knowing that he did one. There was something more...quirky/boardstroked...about Dani. Though I love the Dani/Nicole scenes, she was just a little too hip?...which made me think back to the episode when she broke into Bill/Hayley's house. Then watching the episode later on, I saw Hayley was being used as a punchline to the more interesting and relevant Bill/Ted scenes (see you all were just talking about how you hoped they got scenes...one thing this show is great at...what people want on this board...they already have the foresight for it. The reason I feel the DNA test will get mentioned @Cheap21 in more detail). And then poor Anita reduced for the most part propping up an album.    Needless to say, not my favorite RC episode. And since we are in aftermath week, I just smh. And barely worth a rewatch. BUT...was there good for me?    Yes. Thankfully, we still got good aftermath beats regardless of the breakdown.   Like I said, I really like the Dani/Nicole scenes. But I love their dynamic. And I was looking forward to the shoe being on the other foot once the SilkPress storyline hit climax. Quirks aside, it did not disappoint. Dani came in, and she came in fierce for her sister. I loved her attacking Eva. And then her being surprisingly introspective about Nicole due to her own experience. No wonder Nicole reacted to her being self-aware. So did I.    Meanwhile Bill and Ted finally met up. I'm kinda sad that we did not get that sooner given the scenes that played out sidepiece in the background aside. It might have been interesting to see more of their status as non-Duprees coming into the family explored.    And of course I can't leave without mentioning Eva vs SilkPress Sheila which was the highlight. Both of them were giving. And SilkPress was just so cold with it. I did love that Eva finally stopped letting her gaslight her. Sad to see the duo break up. But I did love that she went to Ted. So...the next turn begins.   And speaking of turns...uh oh at Kat and Tomas. I'm sure he won't be staying away from her. So most definitely, Kat vs Eva ain't over. It will be interesting to see how it goes now that most people know that Kat was right all along.
    • Nah I enjoyed it much more last year because of the Harry plot that ended during that time. Nazar being introduced and them. But this time it is so lame and nothing I like forward to anymore and I’m one of them long time fans. Of course I would be upset if they would cancel it but maybe take a year off or two and return refreshed
    • came across this quote that provides some context: “It’s hard to escape the cultural reach of the Catholic Church when you live in the Western world. It is, for better or worse, one of the load-bearing walls of our civilization. Its influence wafts from the church into the streets of civic life, the courts, the schools, the arts.”
    • Yesterday's show:   Can they give Ambyr Michelle the Emmy for supporting actress already?   Truly enjoyed the episode from Leslie and Eva, Eva and Ted, Nicole and Dani to Anita and Nicole.
