I thought it was sweet and I enjoyed seeing flashbacks of their times/history together as a couple. And I think that Hope's cute. Members chrishntr Posted November 10, 2010 Members Share Posted November 10, 2010 Monday and Tuesday were so good, it's like the show lost it's Mojo after that, hopefully with the party starting tomorrow, it will pick back up. As much as I don't care for Starr/Cole, their montage was quiet sweet. Wow Inez finally got some spunk, and it is all because of Eddie (who I really don't like), but still doesn't make the Ford family interesting enough for me to care about what happens with them. I ask because even though they "broke up" I thought they could have at least kissed on the lips instead of him pecking her forehead before he left. I'll have to watch tonight because I missed Gigi haulin' off on Adriana. What a day of transitions, sad goodbyes. I'm assuming that was the last of Markko too. And HATE that we cut from Langston's warm smile (she doesn't deserve to be at peace with it ) to Ford's face! I really have to watch tonight because I was sniggling at Papa Ford going off like Big Daddy in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, he was sounding kinda southern today. I remember thinking that she would end up pregnant again... I thought that foreshadowing happened when they found Starr's bracelet after Eli kidnapped them, and Blair mentioned how there were space for more stones or whatever when she has more kids. It would only make sense for a James/Starr road block to have her be pregnant by Cole again after he's in jail. It would also give Marty something else to do into the coming year with another grandchild on the way, since I see her story drying up soon... Members Vee Posted November 11, 2010 Members Share Posted November 11, 2010 John Wesley Shipp is an endless delight, even in this short-term role, which at least is colorful and fun. I do kind of wish he could've come on as Dan Wolek or something, or Richard Abbott as a Lord patriarch to rival Clint - and still retained some of this dangerous aspect. The show is slowly coming back to life for me. The Echo story is actually great IMO, and I think Clint vs. Rex makes the unfortunate Buchanan-izing of Rex's character work. Susan Haskell on a tear is always great in my book, even if it over Cole. I've always felt Cole is a huge missed opportunity. The child of SH and TK should be as dynamic as they were. They could've gotten a kid like Mick Hazen from ATWT but instead someone (Frons?) decided to make Patrick and Marty's kid into the blandest jock they could find. And BB never imbued the character with much. Starr and Cole were so prefab, so perfect, so boring as hell, and he destroyed her character, along with the writing and yes, the baby, which they should not have had. If it was up to me, I would bring Cole back in a couple years. Recast with someone excellent. Keep Marty around. Have Starr lose Hope to some sort of horrible injury, necessitating the child's looooong convalescence in a private hospital so Starr can revert to her wild ways as a single young woman, broken from her ingenue role by the loss of her child and her first love. Then, further down the line, have someone end up in Statesville Prison and meet the new Cole there behind bars, where (like many young felons) he is a) getting turned out on a regular basis and has picked up another drug habit to numb the pain. Because that is an honest treatment of exactly what would happen to Cole. Then do some sort of action story in the prison and let Cole get pardoned. He gets out, tries to reconnect with Starr, but they're both very different and scarred in different ways. Then you can do the unthinkable, and sloooooowwwlllyyy pair him instead with someone available, someone who understands, someone who is off-limits: Danielle. He's playing Eddie dangerous, psychotic yet delightfully snarky and colorful. And he managed the impossible, inspired JL to come alive in a scene. That was pretty decent confrontation and why do I get that Inez isn't all Ms. Innocent as she appears? Well for me the show has been getting back on track since mid-September. October was the best month in years and today was the first really off day in weeks. I think that was BB's best performance ever and sadly that's not saying much. I felt they wrote Cole as Martyr's son without an ounce of Patrick's passion or charm. And no thanks to Danielle hooking up with a Cole recast. Please I've had enough of T&M's warped blood mingling through their kids stories. I still want my Dani and Matthew story. Hmmm, I think somehow Eddie attacks and kills Inez and then one of the Ford brothers murders Eddie. I don't see Inez as long-term character material at all. Yes, Starr & Cole slept together Thursday. I too was wondering if Starr has a pregnancy scare or miscarries which drives her to act out even worse. I am guessing James is going to be the only one that can reach and save Starr from herself.
