Even shameless gold digger GLORIA is being screwed by her husband & son.

She's Black.

He pays her in Pine Sol.

TV's newest craze -- the asexual black character. For "sassy" read "sexless."

Perhaps she should thank her lucky stars that F*cker McDecrepit doesn't want to pin her to a desk.

Jill in control of her destiny? don't make me laugh with this.

Jill was & has been very much in control of her own destiny after she & John's first divorce.

In fact the majority of Jill's problems SINCE then have been about entitlement & greed.

If any Y&R character has struggled to control their own destiny it's Nikki who has had to fight EVERYONE & EVERYTHING to earn respect.

When Jill wanted a man, she made a go for it, she didn't sit around sulking because some man didn't think she was worthy enough.

Except Grambo.

Which is self explanatory.

Especially when they want us to believe that Katherine fuckin' Chancellor is some sainted heroine, and that Jill is responsible for most, if not all of the trouble in that relationship (which is simply not true).

Exactly!

Maria also acts like Jill doesn't have any friends & family while everyone in town has their own "special relationship" with Katherine but it doesn't serve the "Jill is an orphan" story so it must be retconned.

UGH.

The most laughable part is when Y&R suddenly does try to establish family ties. It's so clumsy and heartless and so cynical, as they clearly don't care about these relationships and just assume the viewers are rubes who need to see some fake "heartwarming" moments that are slapped together in about three seconds. The latest being when Chompers mugged his way through Katherine's 30438th hospitalization.

And pretty soon Goutman, too. Yuck.

Perhaps it is a societal thing. I'm also shocked that a genre which is targeted at women, which has so many female writers and EPs on staff, still churns out this dirge. So many people must have sold out to let that happen.

As for female politicians, I have no words. I heard some idiot yap on about Hillary Clinton. Can she be trusted to be an effective Secretary of State? After all, everybody knows that every 24 days, a woman gets all PMS-y and crazy!

A lot of women in soaps are also very blatantly anti-female (JFP, for starters).

A lot of it has to do with not respecting the audience and assuming the worst of the audience. These people are so wrapped up in prejudice and so convinced of the audience's prejudice that they are too scared to even show two men doing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation!

The soaps are dated, they are bigoted, they're out of touch, and they're terrified. They are lucky to even have any viewers left.

I guess you could say the same about primetime but I barely watch any primetime at the moment so I can't say.

Or Aunt Jack being self righteous about Victor's relationships with his children.

The problem was is that Cane didn't even do the old-fashioned CPR. He seemed to conveniently miss the mouth-to-mouth part of it. So there was nothing at all that even remotely looked like a kiss.

I was actually waiting for him to do mouth to mouth resuscitation but realized after the millionth hand pump, he would rather hand pump him a million times than touch his mouth.

And what do we expect from a regime when Adam was suppose to use Rafe they didn't even show the kisses let alone the sex scene. I still have no idea if they had sex since everything was done with a quick cut to the next scene.

The key word there is TRYING. The show does not even show her trying now. The show is telling us that it's pointless, that she is a joke, a loser, worthless. Every regime, even LML, respected Jill as a businesswoman until Rauch and Sheffer. They could not wait to humiliate her and repeatedly let us know she has no capacity for business and the only reason she had success was because she married John.

And you know Sheffer's fingers are itching to immerse Jill in fire or acid--anything to scar her up and send her insane.

Tucker is obviously Sheffer's newest version of Craig. I never thought I'd say this and mean it--but at least Block's bravado rose about the trite writing. Nichols seems overwhelmed.

Sheffer has a lot of different Craig wannabes. Victor, Billy, Tucker. It must be his dream come true. ATWT's women were always too strong even for him. Y&R's women were easier to destroy.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, Jill is a character the show has little interest in, and is trying to phase out, so she might escape the gasping plot device that Sheffer made Barbara. I won't be surprised if they give Gloria that story. Or Nikki. And the soap press will tell us over and over how original and shocking and thrilling this is...

Jill is a character the show has little interest in, and is trying to phase out, ....

Sure seems like it. First they phased Jill out of her own grandson's funeral, everyone passed her by to pay their respects to Katherine. Next Billy is treating Kay like his mother and Jill like a stranger. And now the Jill's uncanny absence in the Chancellor life at the hospital. If they think I'm forgetting about Jill they would be wrong. It's backfiring, I'm feeling hostile towards Kay and now even Billy for their treatment of Jill. I have loved Billy and Billy/Victoria from the start, but I'm losing that love quickly.

But the message is confusing.... why go to all the trouble of changing Fenmore history, and making a Lauren a sister, if they want Jill to go?

Because these people don't care about such stuff as "consequence(s)" and "fall-out". They just churn out "story" after "story" to fill the space and episode, so that something airs on TV. That's all.

Total WORD, especially the bolded part.

I've come to absolutely hate Katherine and Billy, especially in regards to the writing Jill gets.

Even though I no longer watch this trash, I'm kind of hoping Jill stumbles upon Meggie killing Murphy and just walks on by as if nothing is happening, and then later rubs it in Katherine's face. Granted, Katherine will still be painted as the all-good woman she NEVER was, and Jill will be portrayed as the one-note pathetic witch. But I would take great pleasure in seeing Katherine suffer at Jill's hands again.

Katherine and Billy's continual propping and the degeneration of Jill have made me sympathize with Jill more so than I should. They obviously see Jill as an irrelevant character to the show and it's history, and that's how I know they no longer want me as a viewer.

They don't. They don't give a [!@#$%^&*] about you as a viewer or whatever else you might be. Why? They saw you leave and nothing happened. In the ratings and otherwise. In their world it means: we can pump our [!@#$%^&*] and agendas into the show and enjoy ourselves with, so far, minimal losses, if there are losses at all.
