July 9, 201114 yr Member Are they actually shooting this at South Fork ranch? I'm excited for this. TNT is starting to get a decent line up of original shows.
July 9, 201114 yr Member At DC I saw the photo of just the younger actors, and they all looked so vacant. Maybe they will be better onscreen, but nothing I've seen of Metcalfe or Brewster has ever gone beyond vacant.
July 10, 201114 yr Member Yeah. I'll give Brewster a chance (I personally haven't seen her in much to be honest) but I just don't see Metcalfe in the role. I could be wrong I guess, but he has never been good.
July 10, 201114 yr Member I hope they keep the same theme music. I checked out the official site and they do this huge presentation with the sliding images but the music is different.

My favorite theme opening music was the 85-86 season. <iframe width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/WJSymDQ118k" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
July 10, 201114 yr Member http://www.tnt.tv/series/dallas/ Thanks for the link. Nice updated pictures of the Ewing building and Southfork. I think that will probably be the new theme for Dallas. I kind of like it. I just wish they would have kept the original cast members as John Ross and Christopher. Omri Katz....he's on the right and Joshua Harris Edited July 10, 201114 yr by Soapsuds
July 10, 201114 yr Member The pictures all look fantastic. I wonder if Brenda Strong feels weird because she's the only one in "the first generation" who isn't from the original series. They did a REALLY good job with Josh Henderson. He exudes that old western look.
July 10, 201114 yr Member I am excited for this even though JM is a big minus for me. But you know, there are always those -worthy actors on every show, and I guess he just has to be mine for this one. I think I will be able to get past it. Kim Kardashian on a Dynasty reboot would be a million times worse. And in the case of JB as well, there is something kind of fitting with the C/D-list casting choices which we saw on the 80s primetime soaps as well until the actors were shot back into popularity. Well see about that. Dallas' theme is too iconic not to use and I would look forward to a slick new version. I love the pictures and of course the ones of J.R., Bobby, and S'wellin are my favorites.

July 10, 201114 yr Member Sue Ellen and Cliff should've been a re-positioned as a major couple and it would've helped both characters. The problem with Sue Ellen is that regardless of the story or the drinking, the relationship with JR was played out. It was so silly constantly having her go back to him. It felt like going in circles. They either needed to write her out or find something completely different for her to do, while still allowing her to be Sue Ellen. Instead the drinking as used as a scapegoat and she lost everything that made her interesting. Personally, I welcomed the new ladies April, Cally (a true gem!), Michelle and Tracy. I thought they were all fabulous, especially early bitchy April. I didn't miss Pam or Sue Ellen, I only missed Donna and Lucy (who was so wasted in her return). When you look at the later years, they ended up giving Cliff a daughter with Afton, JR had a child with Cally plus James and I think Bobby or Ray had a son with Jenna. What is going to happen to all of those kids? I wonder if they'll be acknowledged in any way? In general I wonder what they'll mention and what they'll leave out. I don't wanna hear complains about having too much to fit in because they decided to make a continuation and not a remake. I don't want endless new characters in roles that could be filled by originals. We'll see how it goes. Lucy in particular is the perfect character to revamp and give a great backstory. I'd consider a recast though. I agree with this I haven't heard anything about Charlene only JR, Bobbie, Sue Ellen in the promo shots @Facebook Ultimate Dallas The Gathering Dallas returns in a graphical mini series from a script by Bryan J. July 10, 201114 yr Member oh yeah, this guy whoever he is really looks the part. And I am glad they are still boozing it up at Southfork. He looks like he belongs in a 1950s melodrama directed by Douglas Sirk
July 10, 201114 yr Member JR's and Bobby's sons sure are pretty. I suppose it was almost inevitable that John Ross and Christopher would both grow up to be pretty boys unlike their fathers. We'll see if Dallas 2.0 works. Judging by the pictures of just the younger cast members, I see this as nothing but a Texas version of Melrose Place 2.0. Edited July 10, 201114 yr by Vanguardian
