Given that Steve Burton is a slightly better actor than Scott Reeves, that is one thing that would have been different. I think they would have probably changed the character a little bit to fit his range, which makes me think that Ryan/Nina would have never happen. Also because he has been playing a dark character on a dark show like GH for a long time now, It would be interesting to see what Steve would be like on a more Sophiscated show like Y&R

Thanks for confirming Zach's character on B&B. I can't see Steve on B&B.

Christopher Cousins tried out for the role of Hunter Guthrie on OLTL but turned it down as he felt the role wasn't challenging.

When Joanna Johnson told B&B she was leaving in 1990, they began talks with Genie Francis. She seemed to think they'd gotten pretty far; they said it was just preliminary. Either way, she went to AMC.

Bennye Gatteys read for the part of Leslie Brooks before Y&R went on the air. They cast Elvis movie star Mary Grover, who had a lot of musical comedy in her background, instead. Grover was canned because she could not play the piano though she could sing wonderfully. Janice Lynde stepped in and was of course, brilliant. Bennye was one of the worst re-casts IMHO as Susan Martin on Days. What a dip and how do you replace Denise Alexander? They should have just had the character move away.

A friend of mine went to college with Andrea Moar in the mid 70's and he had told me she tested for Amy on GH before she got Carrie on AMC.

    • I know there was one brief scene in the summer of 1989 where Lillian did mention Calla.. but in relation to her past relationship to Ross and it was to Roger while he was a patient at Cedars.  I think he was trying to pump her for information on Ross.. and for some reason, Calla's name came up.   I could see perhaps Beth mentioning that her mother Lillian was visiting Calla.. but not exactly giving any sort of details as to the going ons in Calla's life off screen.

    • They're neither great nor terrible AFAIK, but it is more a question of the streaming numbers in this day and age vs. actual TV airings. The Chibnall era reminded me much more of the crisis years, but I do think it's a very real possibility now as well due to the streaming bubble collapse affecting the show and its prospects.
    • ANYTHING to get her off the screen..she COULD have been interesting if she and Van had a few face offs..(there was a mild one of her going back to work...but I wanted something meatier "Bitch, I am Vanessa Chamberlain and I don't take advice from someone who followed the..career path you did!" I did like Alex's outright disdain for her.
    • Thanks @Vee for the commentary.    I haven’t even watched this season yet after  I couldn’t get past the couple episodes last season…like it was too Disneyified for my taste, although I did think it was a least better than the Chibnall era (but so is a lot of things). I’ll probably go back and binge it now. Hoping this season ends on a high note. I did read the ratings are terrible. As it stands I’m beginning to feel like what long time DW fans felt with S26 in 1989.
    • Yes, they are all on contract. Next.
    • I also never understood Alex's friendship with Sonni or keeping the secret of Marah's paternity.  Not exactly heartbroken about Ms. Sally being ushered to the Hereafter.

I'm sorry but I'm a glutton for punishment. Would love to see this woman OWNING the canvas. Telling off Leslie who tells her she's the head b!tch.
    • And in case anyone is confused; Rusty was hired by HB to work undercover and infiltrate some gang sabotaging Lewis.
