“Disney Junior” Replaces SOAPnet in 2012

This is all sorts of wrong. I feel a little blindsided by this news, especially after hearing how well the channel did in 2009. What a bunch of crap.

I have no idea what the future holds for ABC Soaps after this. Not to mention, where else am I going to be able to watch repeats of Beverley Hills 90210 and The OC? Better start watching One Tree Hill now before SoapNet is replaced by some Disney Junior b.s

Devastating news.

Meh. This doesn't bother me at all. US soaps are caca . They DESERVE to die.

laugh.gif at the caca part. So true about your last statement.

There's so many worthless cable channels apart of every cable package though, so many other channels need to die too.

Maybe some other channel will try to pick up where SoapNet's left off? Probably not, but whatever...

This is really a sad day for the soap world. DAYS is going to be in so much trouble when SN goes dark.

I'm sure the Bells will find some other way to save Y&R from looking like GL.

Jamey Giddens from DC: According to V.P of Publicity, Jori Petersen, OLTL being left out of the initial press release was a typo.

Yeah, right. How can omitting 13 letters be a typo?!:rolleyes:

They'll need a stronger technical producer than Paul Frickin Rauch!

The channel was hardly what it used to be, the classic soaps have been gone for awhile now. The ratings outside of the same day reruns of the current soaps were likely very abysmal.

LOL. Yeah right.

SO I guess according to Jamey Giddens, V.P of Publicity, Jori Petersen said that OLTL not being mentioned was a typo.

Okay who actually believes that? Yeah and AMC was never moving to LA either...

Yeah, they would probably end Y&R on their own, before they let THAT happen to them.

I doubt they care enough, when CBS cancels their to shows, that will be that. CBS will pull the plug before the Bell's ever will.

By 2015-2016, I don't expect to see any daytime soaps, and if there's any left, it will probably be one or two.

Not that I care anymore. Daytime soaps are dead, no one wants to save them, and their time came and went years ago.

At least I still get some enjoyment from UK soaps, and at least those shows always try to pull themselves out of the holes they get into from time to time, unlike US soaps.

Instead they happily let Y&R look like a bad cable show from 15-20 years ago.
