BH

It seems Lipsa might have underestimated people's dislike of her and love of Garcelle if people are calling her out on Bid Night.

But I guess that's what one gets when they butt their lips into a fight that does not concern them. Let 'the Queen' fight her own battle with the Queen.

POTOMAC

Great mind thinks alike. I was surprised there was no comment yet.

I liked it. While I felt it was really our first filler episode, that really doesn't matter. It was still great, good, and just light fun with subplots running throughout like a great soap.

And OMG The production are so darn shady. lol. Loved it. Unlike BH, they are very tongue in cheek.

Except for Michael. Perhaps it's because of all that's going on over at BH, but it is becoming clearer and clearer that they really don't like Michael. Ashley sure, but Michael. They worked hard to get rid of him last season and I just feel this is more of the same. Is this all about his butt grabbing him or there something else we don't know about? hmmmm.

I loved that Wendy and Ashley made up and talked. Woman to woman. Though I was like 'Ashley!!! Just take what you can get and stop trying to get those two words out of Dr. Wendy! ugh!'

And darn on Candice...she was trying to be good.

And can I say Dr. Wendy's husband is fOINE.

Not as easy and breezy as the rest of this season, but just as enjoyable. Can't wait for next week.

I finally watched part one of then BH reunion. When a season is as bad as this one, they shouldn’t do a reunion.
I can’t stand Teddi and I think her clothes are ugly but Sutton having disdain for someone’s clothes when she dresses like she does is laughable.  She’s almost as boring as Teddi. And what an uppity bitch pretending she can’t  pronounce Buca di Beppo.
Kyle is a horrible actress and should be fired immediately.

Rinna is a horrible actress and should be fired immediately. As if Hamlin would bother with the lock on her shoe!

I can take Dorit, Garcelle, Denise and even Erika if they get her away from the yucks.

I think the reunions are a part of the franchise that are no longer necessary.

First, the cast goes on WWHL several times per season, so there are ample opportunities for them to comment on the drama, far too often the reunion is a retread of what they have already stated on Twitter or WWHL.  Second, they can't reference the reunion directly within the season so they are always referring to it as this obtuse situation that caused a rift in their relationships.  Third, there is either never any resolution to the season's arguments or the resolution seems contrived because it happened outside of their natural milieu.

I think much like the Bravo blogs that caused more trouble than they were worth, production would be better off by trying resolve story lines within the context of the 22 episodes per season.

^^^ I agree, they could at least limit the reunions to one episode instead of dragging it thru 3 parts.

Potomac is still my favorite. Why are they going back in on Michael? Is it because of the past alleged butt grabs?  I remember him telling Ashley he didn’t wants more kids in the earlier seasons but she persisted and got her baby. She can’t really be upset now that he doesn’t want to spend time with the baby.

New York- Dorindas overreaction to the mention of Tinsley was ridiculous. So glad they fired her.
Personally, I’d like to see Jill and Bethenny back.

That does raise a good point...

All the seasons used to have a beginning, middle, and end with the reunion just added on. Now people wait until the reunion when they should have done it during season. But that's more editing and production than the cast I would say. After all when RHOA Season 6 was filming they got so much drama out the girls that editing/production wanted EVERYTHING and extended filming just so they would be on ready for a great reunion. Or was that Season 7? The season where Nene and Marlo fell out over Kenya was Season 6 right?

One only has to look at Season 1 of the Real Housewives of Vancouver, which in my opinion is the single best stand alone season of any franchise - all down to the fact it had a beginning, middle, and end of the arc when Ronnie turned on Jody and Mary was proven right that Jody was selling used (or as Jody put it 'vintage') handbags at her store.

    • I think maybe viewers needed a break from Aaron Spelling by 1985 or 1986. He had a series, Macgruder and Loud, which I recall, even as a young teen, getting TONS of promotion with even a post-Super Bowl slot, and it failed. Viewers probably were - as said here - tired of soapy fare and went elsewhere. But they must have missed him since, as we know, Spelling rose from the TV ashes in the '90s with Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place!
    • I’ve been enjoying the pace the show has taken recently. Things don’t languish as long as they have and if they are drawing something out, like Gio’s adoption, it’s hasn’t been as excruciating. Also, my nosey nature would appreciate less interaction with posters I have on ignore so I don’t have to click on “options”.

    • Okay...I'm just going to call it. Ambyr Michelle is the breakout star of this show with the young set hands down! There is no character like Eva that pulls my heart strings, and she's playing it perfectly. If Eva and Leslie are on, it's a good episode! If written properly, Eva and Kat's rivalry is one that could go on for YEARS. Of course, it's fun to speculate about who is really whom, but I could see them developing as frenemies after some time. They really need a guy to tussle over to amp it up. Tomas is pretty, but the actor has got to loosen up some in his scenes, I think. He is improving though. It would be good to introduce a new young man in that story for a foursome.  Martin and Smitty finally feel like a real couple to me, too. Hopefully, they locked them into four year contracts.
    • I'll be that guy and say I don't think TMG is a fool. This is a popular contract role on a year-round soap opera for a woman of a certain age (to say nothing of a woman of color). If I'm her I pull a Kimberlin Brown and ride this til the wheels fall off.
    • Tbf it's not unusual for a family when they are dealing with some bad news that changes a life to use song to give out hope.Especially black families. I personally had to deal with that very thing this weekend. Partly off putting, but at the same time, I did get the point and it gave me a bit of hope in the moment.      MM is definitely acting. But Smitty is just so passive. It could turn into quiet strength at some point, but for now...passive IMO.
    • Am I remembering correctly that the Madison's lived in a Spanish revival-style house? I have a vague recollection of the fireplace looking especially Spanish in style. It is unusual that Montecello had so many architectural styles.  Obviously, that might occur IRL.  But, look at other east coast soaps and there is a definitive style that is throughout (because it was styled by a set decorator) regardless of the income of the occupants.
    • @kalbir MSW was a powerhouse for CBS. Angela Lansbury was a superb actress. In 1985, TV viewers were tiring of the primetime soaps and the like. People wanted storytelling and MSW was great at that and had great guest stars. Storytelling -- an amazing and novel concept. CBS Daytime by 1985 was beating ABC so CBS was on the upswing.
    • I'd say just the opposite - conflict means they will find out and then be at odds. For the limited amount of time people on this show have conflict (if they aren't named Nina or Ric, I guess).
    • Totes mcgoats (aka I agree). But, now the character needs to move forward.  Clyde's exit was 12/11/24.  It is May.  She and Chad have been on one date. I don't think they've slept together. And she was only planning on sticking around for a year.
    • That is one of the best insults I've heard in a long time.  I burst out laughing when Kat called Eva that.  LOL Their scenes, of course, were really good.  Colby and Ambyr have so much chemistry.  The only thing I'd change is Kat saying "you're dead to me."  That's a phrase usually said about someone you care about.  I would've preferred something like "You will never be my sister," or something similar to that.  Nice contrast at the end with both mothers/daughters:  Kat comforting/consoling her mother, and Eva being locked out by her mother.  Yeah, I wasn't a big of fan of the singing either, especially after your daughter's life has been destroyed.  What?  LOL And I also agree with those that thought Dana/Leslie's scenes with the Dupree's didn't feel right since Eva is not a Dupree....unless she is.  But as of right now, she's not.
