But that's a very different issue. The actor can't control the writing and direction. All I'm asking is that they do everything they can do to sell what they are given. All I can ask of someone is that they give their personal best in every scene. If the writing and direction undermines that, then the fault lies elsewhere. The writing has definitely let Elizabeth Hendrickson down, but I've never watched her in a scene and thought "wow, she isn't even bothering to try" or "wow, she obviously would rather her character be with Billy, because she isn't even trying to make her scenes with Chance work (or vice versa). There is just no excuse for that %$&* when we are seeing daytime die before our very eyes.

I agree with you, I do think a lot of the younger actors are trying to do what they can. What I meant to say is that I think that the more longtime cast members (those who continue to be showcased) feel free to phone it in and play favorite because the way the show is set up, the newer cast members are never going to become established enough to be a threat to them.

Maybe it's me I don't understand because at the end of the day he is still working #1, and he's still gonna be working with both #2 (either way). So it's kind of a mute point who he wants his character to be with or where he wants him to go. In any event I would more think he's probably tired of the same story beat being played in the same exact way rather than his story direction, I would expect that's annoying. I do agree as a viewer I'd rather the actor try to sell the non-sense even if I still know it's non-sense

I'm suprised that Billy even took the effort to buy the flowers to apologize to Victoria. That apology was half assed at best. If Billy was supposed to be sincere, then Billy Miller didn't convey it. I get that he's going after Victoria "for Colleen", but unless she's married to herself she's not the only one in this marriage. JT did nothing wrong to Colleen. In fact he stuck up for her and prevented her from making a bigger spectacle of herself. Which put him in some trouble with the Newmans (mainly the Vics). If Billy was thinking of Colleen than he would have considered what JT meant to her.

Billy said it was nothing personal. Who's pretending now Billy?

Is it just me or did Billy and JT switch personalities?

I'm glad that Jill showed up in today's episode.

I feel sorry for Heather. She has to be incompetent to allow the viewers to feel sorry for Daniel.

It's nice when JT and Paul have scenes together same with Katherine and Murphy. God help me, but I liked Katherine's talk with Victoria. It's nice to see her talk to a younger woman who isn't Chloe or Amber.

    • I found it to be a rather odd way to deal with a character departing for parts unknown.
    • Today reminded me as to why I’m a little disappointed in the name that the new Pope chose

Luckily, EJ and Johnny, and pretty much every other character saved today’s episode.  I didn’t expect Javi to be the one to save Sarah though, and I don’t mind it at all, because if it means that Javi is finally going to get his own identity/character, away from his douchy bf, I’m all for it. Javi’s scenes would’ve been a lot better had it not been for him. EJ and Johnny were the best part of today. Their conversation hit a lot of important beats and I’m so looking forward to seeing them play out. And now that EJ knows that Johnny is going to work for Xander, that opens up another dynamic to their storyline and to the Kiriakis family storylines as well. Tying them all together could be really good. There are so many story possibilities that can come out of this. And I thought Carson Boatman did a pretty good job again too.  I also liked that Johnny was there to comfort Chanel after everything that happened with Sarah. They’re so good together. But I do have mixed feelings about Chanel possibly forgiving Johnny so quickly. Hopefully, the question that she asked him at the end of today leads to more conflict for the two of them.  And yeah, still no changes in Alex’s character lol
    • Awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to grab this episode. I had a quick review of your rip because I was curious why it was 700MB and 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes of the episode is 3169 (opening credits at 5 minutes and again at 15 minutes). I thought we had the full HD version of ep.3170 on the YouTube channel, but it appears they added the wrong episode but labelled it 3170.
    • I guess, according to Mike Manning in the Michael Fairman chat, he was almost Derek

    • That's a name I haven't heard in a minute. Thanks!
    • Well, since I'm still up unexpected past my growing-into-it bedtime. lol.   I finally got to rewatch Monday's. I even rewatched Friday's to take it all in. Now that we got the reveal and hit the climax of the SilkPress Sheila storyline, now we get to watch the aftermath and/or turns that come with its climax. So far, so good. Friday left us with three cliffhangers. And what I found surprising was how I felt about them over a rewatch.    I know some of you all felt a way about the dialogue during Kat vs Eva. I remember liking it more the first time around and it was nice for them to have these scenes to establish more of a frenemy vibe for them going forward. That still held up. But I found myself agreeing with you all about that dialogue. lol. Still, it was nice to have both of their POVs.   Second up was Silk Press Sheila vs the Duprees. And I was happy to get a brief spat with Dani in there. But the rest standouts for me was Anita and Martin. Haters can hate and given the tail end of the episode, I will agree to a fault, but Brandon has impressed and he was on fire on Monday and had great subtle work on Friday. And that subtle work made it all the better. Like I believe I said when I was watching...BC has a much better grip on his character and seems to be realizing what his tics are so has started to be able to know when to turn it up and when to dial it down. And for the most part (emphasis on most), he got that. Meanwhile, TT was giving fierceness, and I was here for every minute of it. Her reading SilkPress. Her being quip about it. Her 'BE STILL.' Ooooo she had a chokehold on me as Anita gave what I was expecting her to SilkPress. WORTH THE WAIT. I also loved Vernon's CHOOSE SILENCE. I wonder though if SilkPress will figure out Martin's condition from her observing Anita and Vernon with him.   And speaking of worth it...Oooo YES Nicole vs Ted was worth totally worth it. Oooooo I knew DD would nail it, and it was all so well done. The fight between the part of Nicole who is a therapist vs Nicole as a woman who wants to express how she feels. And being so angry. And how there would be moments when it would shoot out of her. And how she would restrain herself. But how she felt she should not be restrain. Just the levels of processing and layers. And DD played it all so well. I do wish Maurice gave just a little bit more, but overall, I thought he did a good job even if it was just Ted coming across as a deadbeat and not at all redeemable. And Kat being there for her mother was so beautiful.   Minority, but I love the montage though yes, it did run a little long. Given how the Duprees like to bond (and also as I mentioned from my own very recent family experiences), it did not seem out of place to me.     That said...let's see how the aftermath worked in today's episode. Overall. Cuz RC can be hit or miss.
    • I wonder whose brilliant (

) idea it was to do an almost complete rip-off of the "who killed Tom King"-storyline. That's some quality style writing right there.....
