God, this thread has made me realize how much Y&R's been the Best of the WORST Overused soap opera cliches this year alone with this corrupt writing regime.

We've had psychos running rampant, doppelgangers, a babyswitch, mistaken identities, returns from the dead, long lost parents, a desperate story about wanting a baby (LAME's surrogacy story), constant bed-hoppings that went nowhere, horrific portrayals of homosexuality, killings of core characters that had no value or follow through, and much much worse...

But I forgot, it's worth it if they produce a good episode or two a month, no matter how shiteaous the day to day writing and overall direction are.

This writing team and their enablers should be ashamed of themselves for mockery they've turned Y&R into in little over a year. Even Latham's show has more humanity than this dreck.

They obviously have no idea what they're doing, so they take every bad and overused soap cliche and throw it at us, in addition to blatantly stealing things from message boards.

Cricket should have come back shortly after Phillip's botched return.

But they did nothing with Phillip and brought him back purely for shock value.

And with Paul supposedly kissing Nina in a few weeks, a possible relationship with those two would lack something if we didn't get Cricket's reaction, given her history with both Paul and Nina.

Danny comes back to try and reason with his beloved now deranged Cricket only her to shoot him dead and go even farther in the deep end. Now that's something I just made up, but it horrifyingly fits with the current line of storytelling for the current "creative" team.

This is utterly impossible. Impossible and it will NEVER happen. There I said the one word you shouldn't say when it comes to soaps, but I stand behind it. This will NEVER happen. That would make the 3rd time Christine had been raped. I think she probably would have mentioned it if that had happened to her before. Lauren and Cricket may have been enemies, but I don't remember it being the kind of grudge one comes back to years later. Cricket and Michael were engaged, now she wants revenge for ancient history? Ryder's mother is threatening Little D and The Bug would never do that. There are too many reason why this would not make a lick of sense.

The thing is we CAN'T even discount such rumors seeing as we have had chipmunks, hysterical pregnancy "with delivery", a retconned kleptomaniac Sharon with an undisclosed mental illness (even though I know what it is LOL), peanut-laced child kissing, animal killer psycho, a fetus-burning, baby stealing, taking advantage of gay people TEVNJr., 2 nitwits whose lives are guided by an ouija board and this is all in the span of less than a year.

Even though I tend not to believe things till they are official from the show or onscreen, let's just say I don't think there is a single thing Maria Arena Bell and company could write that would shock me..save ONE!!!

Well...well...Lauralee has been pretty clear that she wanted challenges beyond goodie Cricket. She said she didn't come back for a few throwaway party scenes...she wanted the story to be fitting. With On Sunset shuttered, the chance to play a psycho could appeal to her.

And, on this Y&R, it could all be explained away with a tumor, childhood trauma, or doppelganger.

Sh!t, it could be Sheila made over to look just like Cricket. Don't tell me that would be out of the question on today's Y&R. It could be ANYONE made over to look like Cricket...even Alistair or Carmen's identical cousin.

I still say that Sugar is the mother and Daisy is Sheila's daughter.
