Members Soapsuds
Does anyone recall Grant Aleksander first airdate as Phillip? I know it was 1982. I've been looking for it on YouTube to no avail. Also anyone recall Jarrod Ross last airdate as Phillip?
Members jcar03
For Aleksander I have 12/22/1982. For Jarrod Ross I have 12/24/1981.
Members Soapsuds
Thanks! Then it's the Christmas episode which looks awful on YouTube. I'll have to see if I can find Jarrod last episode.
Members rsclassicfanforever
Please register in order to view this content This is Grant Aleksanders first episode on Guiding Light. This is dubbed in German, called Springfield Story. I uploaded episodes from 1982 beginning with Episode 801 of the german broadcast. It begins in June 1982. The scene with Phillip starts at 2:30 when he enters Justins House
Members soapfan770
If I recall right I think Aleksander started around in June 1982 around the same time as Phil McGregor started as Freddy/Rick. Edit: Oh I see someone posted it above! Please register in order to view this content Edited June 28, 2020 by soapfan770
Members Soapsuds
Thank you! You answered a question I was going to ask. I am watching the 1979 Christmas episode and I was who the hell is Freddie?..lol Also who is the old man with Bert and who is Peter? I don't recall them although it been years since I've seen this episode.
Members BetterForgotten
That 'dead leaves' music is probably one of my favorite soap themes ever. It also defines one of the best eras of this show to me. Edited June 28, 2020 by BetterForgotten
Members Soaplovers
Peter was Holly's bf and later fiance...and I think the older guy with Bert was Leslie's father and Rick's grandfather...I think
Members robbwolff
Yes. The older man is Dr. Steve Jackson, who was the late Leslie Bauer's father. Thus, he is Rick Bauer's grandfather. Peter Chapman was a doctor and involved with Holly. He was played by the late Curt Dawson who also played DA Zack Colton on Another World.
Members BetterForgotten
And I could watch Maureen Garrett play anything. No histrionics or annoying tics, always a believable and realistic performance. It's sometimes hard to reconcile this Holly with the one who returned a decade later, but the heart of the character was always there and Maureen never phoned it in.
