Members MoTheGreat
All I see Ck said she don't want black family time & they listen to her. Must must look at CK as a white girl to be given into her demands.
Members classicmoment
You know DEEDEE you are right, it's sad really.
Members marceline
I wish someone would resurrect a retooled Generations even if was only as a web series. I'm tired of hoping current soaps somehow manage to morph into something relevant and entertaining in a multicultural world.
Members DeeeDee
It is. Look at the mess that was her "relationship" with Billy.
Members bellcurve
Let's not and say we did. Generations was annoying preachy and self-righteous.
Members marceline
Hence why I said a "retooled" Generations. Besides, those not interested wouldn't have to watch. They can keep fighting over who made the better Lily until nobody cares anymore.
Members Vee
Generations was a noble effort, but it seemed to be quite flawed. I remember thinking it was unique to have a soap dynasty run an ice cream company of all things, but then Kristoff St. John recently pointed out, rightly, that it was, shall we say, a bit off for the first "black dynasty" on soaps to be shilling confections. I still think it was unique, though.
Members y&r_fan
Or Tammin. Have to disagree there. Khalil isn't perfect but occasionally she turns in a great performance. Sherwood was completely devoid of emotion or enthusiasm. ...after cutting up his clothes. You know, for an actress you can't stand, you sure talk about CK a lot. Exactly. I highly doubt she actually said that.
Members MoTheGreat
I can talk about anybody I want. As long as CK is still on Y&R I'll talk about the bitch all I want. & Ck acting is nothing to write home about. She can do naive teenage well until this day is all about Teenage lovey dovey. Nothing serious ever happen to happy go lucky Lily. Tammy is terrible actress who can't control her Aussie accent. Maybe she'll rock the cancer storyline in a Aussie soap. Members ChitHappens
I'm all for anyone who stands up and speaks for what is right, but my disappointment is in why VR would want to return? It makes no sense that she is chomping at the bit to return to the daytime industry. It must be about money because she won't be getting any awards or any recognition for her work on YR. I wish she would abandon the idea completely because her credibility is diminishing. Personally, I feel everything she says because I am a black female working my ass off in Corporate America, and sometimes, I have to wonder why. I'm a CPA working in an accountant's role under an oppressive 30 year old white middle classed woman who has nothing better to do than to make my life hell at work because my presence intimidates her - she only has a BA, but affirmative action is certainly working for her. I know this seems like I am going off on a tangent, but trust me, it fits. So VR can shout from the rooftop whatever the hell she wants! Michelle Stafford is not playing an entertaining Phyllis. Yes, her character should have grown from the loon eating up YR many years ago, but grow into what Phyllis has become? Not! And when I read that she spit on VR supposedly in character, I was livid. I'd rather be shot than to have someone spit on me. That is the lowest. At that point, it was time to remove the earrings and whip that bitch's ass, VR. CK? Why is she even being discussed to this magnitude? Bergmann, he disappointments me greatly, especially after he pointed out many years ago that black characters in daytime were nonexistent. Didn't he lose his job after that? Moron! But I guess it's ok when someone of the lighter persuasion says it. VR was the only diva? Or was she the only black diva? ANDREA I crack up everytime that accent slips out, which is quite often. ANDREA
Members Soapsuds
This all sounds like Kindergarten kids who can't get along. What a mess!!
Members MoTheGreat
I think she want to come back because she sees where soaps are headced & she cares deeply to bad her co stars doesn't. Are you asking does she the only black diva of soap or just Y&R. I think She the only one who'll specks out. I'm sure Debbie & the rest of them want to say some stuff about their co workers & bosses. The reason I talk aobut CK is because I believe since she got no black family time. She think she can block VR.
Members Heyou
Are you kidding? She couldn't even do 'death' good so she certainly couldn't do the cancer storyline well.
Members Gray Bunny
The powers that be gotta love having CK in the role because it appeases all the Great Aunt Gretchen's, bless her bigoted heart, who doesn't think interracial couplings are right, but sure does love her some Y&R. "Oh, that Lily girl's a negro? I can barely tell through my bifocals!" The bible-beating golden-aged people watching Y&R are fiercely loyal, but still set in their ways. They wrote in when Neil romanced Victoria and again when Damon romanced Phyllis... but CK is 'white enough' to shut up the haters. Who knows what CK has or hasn't really said. I think all her white-boy couplings is TPTB's way of pussyfooting around the race issue to keep their 70-year-old bigoted fans happy.
Members y&r_fan
I never said you couldn't. It just seems wierd that you talk about an actress you can't stand in almost every post. In your totally unbiased opinion.
