Me too, and we certainly aren't getting that with Maria Arena Bell, Hogan Sheffer, and Scott Hamner. This show has imploded and is a bloody hot mess.

It's amazing the amount of contempt this writing regime has for the fans and for legacy characters. They especially take the intelligence of their fans for granted.

A lot used the "give it time" excuse when I noticed huge problems with this show back in the Spring. Well, now it's almost Fall, and the toxic nature of this writing regime is out in the open for all to see the damage they're causing.

I cannot see how anyone can defend crap like this. This show and the decisions these writers are making is just beyond bad.

And that's another big problem. How could they see Colleen as less important than say....

Gloria

Jeffrey (in particular)

"Ryder"

Amber

Devon

Kevin (as much as I hate to say it)

Jana (as much as I hate to say it cuz I luvs me some EOB)

Eden

If it is true that they would rather kill off an ABBOTT than one of these folks because she wasn't as "important" to the story, then that bites the big one (to put it mildly).

I posted this in the "Fire Maria Arena Bell, Hogan Sheffer, Scott Hamner, and Paul Rauch" thread, but it applied to the discussion taking place here.

I will NEVER forgive the Patty character for indirectly causing Colleen's death, for killing Zapato, and for causing brain damage to Summer. She IS irredeemable. Almost all of the canvas should HATE her after all these things. The Abbot's should hate her, and the Newman's should hate her. I will never be able to buy ANY possible relationship between Patty and Jack, if they ever go in that vile direction again. Thanks for ruining a character and making her irredeemable that had unlimited possibilities, hacks.

I found today's episode lacking in emotion and terribly campy. Lily's dreams about seeing Colleen were hilarious and stupid. I hate whenever soaps insert some supernatural tones into the stories. Lily's senses that something bad was happening to Colleen was just awful, and unintentionally funny to me.

And again, I agree with all those who said the Abbot's worrying about Colleen highlights just how much the character wasn't close to her family and how very rarely she interacted with her family since Tammin's been in the role, and the character was still technically in town, just doing nothing off-screen most of the time.

I wasn't shocked by their cliffhanger of Patty firing her gun, and if the spoilers are true about Colleen's heart going to someone, it will make all of this even more vile.

This show is a mess. NOTHING is working right now, guys. I should have felt something from this episode, but it all rang really fake to me. The writing and those scenes just felt fake. The stories on this show have no emotional resonance, no depth, and logical complexity.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
    • Agreed. The Emmys next year are gonna be a pretty tough competition and I hope we get a Days sweep lol  Not only does Deidre deserve a nomination for these last few weeks, but I also think Paul Telfer, Raven Bowens, Carson Boatman, Dan Feuerriegel and Alison Sweeney have good chances as well.
    • It’s not about a lack of faith and trust in MVJ, it’s about a a lack of faith and trust in Ron Carlivati, who I think can be very sneaky and manipulative when he wants to be.  And, all that “He’s just a breakdown writer” talk never changed my mind about anything, because at Days, it was “just a breakdown writer” that gave us some of the worst episodes I’ve ever seen.
