Y&R: Episodes discussion, week of September 14

It is end-times.

Even GL can't muster any traction during this final week.

I'm having a lot of trouble with the Colleen torture porn. Not fun.

The ONE moment I loved was the exchange of glances between Jill and Gloria. Two strong women acknowledging each other. I would love to see them build up greatness together. Without a man.

I did record Y&R last week, but never watched any of the shows. :-( I feel so disconnected from this show these days.

However, working from home yesterday I watched. The Patty Jane stuff is as bad as everyone here has been saying. I have to say, with all the promise PR intially showed when he joined the show, the "outside" scenes with Patty and Colleen look very fake. And Y&R used to do landscape/outdoor sets so well.

I felt nothing for Colleen "tied up" to that tree (seriously, anyone could get outta that rope). TS can't play damsel in distress very well, and since she never really connected to me as Colleen, it's nothingness. I don't want the character killed off, but I'm not feelin' it.

The Daniel/Amber reunion was boring. I fell asleep.

I did enjoy Paul's scenes with Victoria, though. DD is really working hard for this story. It's too bad that the writers aren't working as hard to tell it respectfully. :-(

I like that Ashley showed some balls at the end of yesterday's show by telling Adam she was going to Victor concerning her accident. I hope it holds together. Adam needs to take his skanky ass out into the woods with Patty Jane. Maybe instead of killing Colleen, there could be a murder-suicide: Seeing Adam in the "woods", Patty Jane imagines he's Jack. Adam is his usual nasty, smart-ass self and Patty Jane gets pissed off the way (she thinks) Jack is talking to her. So she kills his ass. Thinking her one true love has died by her hands, she has nothing to live for and puts the gun to her crazy-ass head. Those 2 shots could solve alot of what's wrong with this show.

Doug Davidson and Beth Maitland have been Y&R's MVPs for the past 6 months. I wish there could have been a scene between the two of them yesterday.

The only hope I have is that the current cycle of SLs appears to be drawing to a close.

I found tomorrow's "big" episode laughable, and the production values amateurish.

Another case of Y&R trying to be like primetime, just without the budget or tight storytelling.

This show is heading down a very dangerous path, losing its core identity, and is horrendously plotted. I don't know if I can fully give it up, but missing an episode or changing the channel during commercial breaks these days feels like relief over this badly written and executed crap.

Though, we get to see
