Members DaytimeFan
The Australian sun has done a number on her skin, but she retains her beauty at 72. As an aside, Edgecliff, in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, is a very ritzy area - great to see that Carmen has done well for herself. She deserves it.

Members amybrickwallace
At least she hasn't gone the plastic surgery/Botox route. She looks very natural and very beautiful.

Members Paul Raven
Watching the opening scenes of the 2nd clip I was struck by 2 things. Patricia Hodges would have been a good Opal recast on AMC and Nancy Frangione looked like Susan Lucci.
Members NothinButAttitude
Oh wow! What a classic. It feels good to watch a show from start to finish and not wanting to FF through certain parts. How much longer was left in the story arc before Alma got her comeuppance? And what was bothering Cass? Looks like he might've seen that dead body in the hotel. Donna is such a busybody and it is funny. Weird seeing Donna disapprove of Sally and wanting to hook Cecile up with him. From reading their history, Donna would go on to loathe Cecile and become rivals with Sally over Catlin in a year or two. Julia seemed like such an endearing character. Sucks that she was one of the many Matthews killed throughout the 80s. I enjoyed her scenes opposite Felicia. They seemed to mesh well together. I also enjoyed watching her bond with Sally too. So weird seeing Tom Wiggin in a role that isn't Kirk on ATWT. He aged well as he still looked the same throughout his run on ATWT. Members DRW50
Cass was a suspect in that murder. That was the irony of Donna's scheming against Sally - Cecile was far more formidable in "taking" Peter away from her, which she didn't realize until too late. I've enjoyed almost all I've seen of 1983 (which admittedly isn't a ton). The show feels cohesive and fresh to me, and developing its own unique style, in a way that it struggled with before and after. Members NothinButAttitude
I agree. I feel like the show was starting to head into that strong friendship era, which separated AW from all the other soaps going forward.
Members danfling
I adored Patricia Hodges! I don't know about her as an Opal replacement on All My Children, though. Under All My Children, the possibility of Opal's sister Pearl was mentioned. Maybe she could have played Pearl. I also think that she perhaps could have played Kate Rescott on Loving. (although I liked Nada Rowland a whole lot) Tom Wiggon played a doctor who was working for Victor Lord on One Life to Live, and he had aged a whole lot since his Breaking Away days.
Members amybrickwallace
Wasn't Patricia Hodges let go and her character killed off (along with Petronia Paley's Quinn) in 1987?
Members slick jones
Yes, they had the misfortune of being 40 something and unattached at the time of the Sin Stalker. Both were viable characters with plenty of story left to be told. Such a shame...
