November 14, 20196 yr Member An example of how the media has already declared victory for Trump. I will just be glad when this is over and the shambles of a primary can be over and the focus can go back on rooting Trump out.
November 14, 20196 yr Member I mean, "pizzazz" is trending bc NBC got roasted for that article by the whole of Twitter. There are always lazy takes, but by and large the public and a fair amount of media takeaway for yesterday was that it was devastating for Trump.
November 14, 20196 yr Member As far as I'm concerned, you don't need "pizzazz." You just need to speak truth to power.
November 14, 20196 yr Member The public has been intelligent enough to process this even before the public hearings, so perceptions are baked in for the most part.
November 14, 20196 yr Member I wonder what's behind this decision assuming this is true. Has he been told that he's too unpopular or is it the fact that the Secretary of State is a Democrat so he knows he can't scam the recount? Edited November 14, 20196 yr by marceline

The lead republican in the state legislature would not back his effort and "suggested" unless he could produce evidence of problematic voting, he should drop it. Bevin is not popular with republican legislators in KY either.
November 15, 20196 yr Member Welp! Only in the race a day and already people are finding and posting some very troubling judgement calls made by former Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick. This thread is a harrowing but informative read. Seems like the association to Bain Capital may be the least of Patrick's problems. In 2014 Deval Patrick fired leaders of his state's Sex Offender Registry for trying to force his brother in law to register due to being convicted of rape in California in 1993. In 2019, that same rapist was sentenced to 6 years for another rape. 1/https://t.co/dPbQ6ElSml — Michele Dauber (@mldauber) November 14, 2019

The media wants impeachment for the ratings, but in the end they don't want Trump impeached so they'll continue these types of story and commentary. Notice how common it is to mention that aid WAS released, but they skirt over the fact that it was released after the whistleblower complaint became public. If you rob a bank and return the money when the police find out you did it, it doesn't mean you get off the hook. Somehow the media is allowing that to be a narrative. My hope with impeachment is that it helps turn public opinion enough to help Democrats in 2020, but even then they'll have to deal with the media "both sides-ing" the election and working to help keep Trump in office.

And I was wondering when Bloomberg's known history of making sexist and sexually derogatory remarks would start to be discussed again and that day has arrived apparently. Those remarks didn't seem to hinder his mayoral campaigns, so it is little wonder that he thinks it's no big deal if they re-emerge during a presidential candidacy.
November 15, 20196 yr Member Honestly, I don't know what thread to put this madness. Three Indiana judges have been suspended for "behaving in an injudicious manner" after a failed attempt to visit a strip club led to a drunken brawl outside an Indianapolis White Castle that ended with two of the judges being shot.https://t.co/TueOOlDATL — NPR (@NPR) November 14, 2019
November 15, 20196 yr Member Listening to Yovanovitch now and she is clear, forthright and compelling.
November 15, 20196 yr Member He should be embarrassed. On top of everything else, the Buttigieg campaign used a stock photo from Kenya to promote its Frederick Douglass Plan for Black America https://t.co/OqnGSIqCLS pic.twitter.com/qBqei71TdA — Ryan Grim (@ryangrim) November 15, 2019
