Al Franken has consented to an investigation, which needs to go forward. I don't see anyone defending his behavior. Trump supporters, of all people, should be the last ones to talk given Don the Con's history with women.

Trump won't, for obvious reasons.

Also,  hasn't he been silent about the latest crazed shooter? I guess when the shooter is a crazed looking white guy who had no business getting access to guns...in Trump's eyes, it's not a problem.

If Franken did what he is accused of, he's no better than all of the other dirtball predators. But the Trump Cult can GTFO with their hypocrisy.

Especially when many of these same people defend not only the likes of Trump, but Roy Moore, too.

President Obama did everything he could to keep gun violence in the news.  After every mass shooting, he'd have a press conference and tell it like it was.  I loved it.  Republicans and the NRA fumed, but at least there was something on the news about the number of mass shootings.  There were 477 last year, and 391 so far this year.  But we have only heard about the most egregious.

Trump won't say [!@#$%^&*] until he's called out on it.  They want to downplay the gun violence as much as possible so the NRA keeps sucking them off.  It's disgusting.

I hope the investigation is thorough because we, the public, need answers and everyone investigating needs to get to the bottom of this.

In fact, in every single one of these allegations, I would hope that an honest thorough investigation is conducted.  It's especially important to the public when it involves an elected official.

As for Al Franken, I think the photo is repulsive (I've seen some say it's not so bad because he didn't actually touch her - if this was done without her permission it's bad no matter what), and in an ideal world he should resign, but the timing of it feels off to me. I do believe her, but this came out at the perfect time - not just to help Trump, but also to help Roy Moore, who gets to act like a martyr and when he wins (he's going to win - he was going to win no matter what), he, the GOP, and the Beltway can say there's no reason to expel him or do anything but support him, because Al Franken is still in office.

Even if Al Franken resigned tomorrow, Roy Moore would still win and he would still be seated. And the media would shrug it off, as would voters. They don't care what Republicans do, especially Republicans who hide behind a fake and craven perversion of faith that degrades the many good Christians out there who are so unrepresented today.

OK. Thank you for saying this b/c I've been feeling this way but didn't wanna something and face backlash. I find it odd that this came out when it did too, and people are saying that Roger Stone was tweeting about this 24 hrs before she came out.

Not to discredit or denounce her, but does anyone else feel that this might've been planned (by Trump and the GOP) to cause GOP voters to go ahead and vote Moore in? Also, the House bill slid by today too without much attention b/c of this. Could this be part of the possible plan too?

Something is just off about this, and I feel even bad for thinking it or saying it.

    • If the shooter is Arnold, I am not going to be happy. Agreed.  Again, I really like the pace of the mystery. RonC always wrote a shocking crime, then it would be solved only through exposition at the end.  I feel like the audience is being shown some respect by them carefully closing all the loopholes.  For example, having Shawn-D call Rafe to turn in his gun was a clever device to get Gabi to confess. As much as I agree with @carolineg about the odd shift in Sophia's character, this plot is starting to make me angry.  A woman is denied an abortion and forced to raise a child?  It is gross.  The stomach pains are a hopeful foreshadowing.  But, if she fakes pregnancy, or hides his miscarriage, I am going to scream!!! Roman continues to be a mench, but I have to admit that I can never keep track of the difference between Max and Benjy.  I guess it helps that Benjy is dead.  Are Max and Benjy still related to Carly?
    • If Sally Field had been more generous about the writing I would say that her assessment is really very fair. I found Soapdish very funny. The cast is great. Delirious with John Candy and Mariel Hemingway (and Emma Samms!) came out the same year and I had expected to prefer Delirious, but Soapdish is one that I can watch repeatedly.
    • I love SOAPDISH but I think TOOTSIE is better. Generally I am quite fond of gender-benders. VICTOR, VICTORIA, most favorite.
    • On GL we only saw young GA's Philip in very short shorts but on AMC we saw GA's Alec McIntyre in a speedo.  But, on GL, an older GA/Philip is having sex with Olivia in a hotel room where Bruce Barry was directing & he & she both end up down to nothing but black underwear & at one point his bicep is covering her entire upper body so it appears that she is naked. I think they ended up on the floor between the bed & the wall. That was when I realized that Grant's body was better than Steve Burton's. (Olivia was cheating. Her husband Alan was in the hospital.) It is notable that I can speak with any insight AT ALL about these bodies since that is not the team I play for! LOL
    • I mentioned that last week and I am glad Tate and Sophia just realized that today lol.  I think the show is just tying up some of Ron's loose ends.   You would think Brady, Holly or even Marlena would have perhaps pointed out the age thing to Tate at some point. I am not sure I like this shift in Sophia's characterization though.  MK played Sophia as someone who always defied her mom's rules-she just didn't get caught.  She was openly trying to steal Tate from Holly with no shame, showing up at the Horton cabin in bikinis to seduce him, and blackmailing Holly to work all her shifts at the Bistro.  Once the recast started the show has acted like Sophia's lived in her room, sheltered her entire life lol.
    • I thought Dante was going to put hands on Gio
    • If Jordan never appeared again, I would absolutely not notice or miss her.  So, while Brook Kerr has her flaws, she at least appears to have a pulse and a personality as Portia.
    • That's because India, or the India MKA ended up playing, was created due to the fact that both she and Kristi Farrell were liked by TPTB, but the part they both read for didn't exactly fit either one of them so the show created two brand new characters for both actresses to play (India and Roxie) and opted not to cast the character they were intending to cast (A cousin of Beth's). I think that's why the show seemed to struggle at first with how to write both India and Roxie in their first months on the show because the characters weren't ever intended to exist.  And yes.. Grant A had a great body... but I didn't find him hot when he was playing Phillip.. only when he was playing Alec on AMC which baffles me since it was the same actor in both parts LOL
    • I shared this on Twitter and good grief the comments. Steffy fans can be such vile real-life human beings over a fictional character lol.
    • I remember Michael Logan interviewed L.A. actors/production staff about the movie. Susan Seaforth Hayes said she was dying to know Susan Lucci's reaction.
