I hate that Michael slept wtih Violet. Assuming she is Syd's kid, he slept his way through her family with the exception of her mom. Violet is a nutjob and I also hope she is the killer and gets written out

i love theyw ay this show handles gay/bi/lebian characters. as if its a non issue. Ella & Caleb are fantastic.

Caleb is Ella's boss? He's gay?

Tonight's episode was ok. Nothing special. Not sure that I liked the return of Jo. I never really liked the character in the first incarnation. She was sort of blah.

Score one for the vampire people! (And the incredibly good-looking West Hollywood-living people?)

CW just picked up a full season of the breakout freshman hit The Vampire Diaries, and the network has also ordered five more episodes of Melrose Place.

Why did Vampire Diaries get a full season while Melrose Place didn't? Here's what we're hearing...

Diaries has been an unqualified hit for the CW—it's easily the network's top show. Melrose's ratings, meanwhile, are just marginally ahead of already canceled The Beautiful Life. In fact, a repeat of the canceled CW series The Game that aired on BET the other night beat out an original episode of Melrose Place. Sad but true.

So why keep Melrose on at all? Well, Melrose comes with endless publicity in the form of returning original MP stars like, oh, Heather Locklear, and insiders remain enthusiastic about the production quality and big upcoming storylines like a major character death and backstory reveals for fan faves like Katie Cassidy's Ella.

Now, help us answer a not-so-burning question: Which middle-of-the-road Melrose Place character is most expendable? We're pondering this upcoming character death, and we're trying to figure out who you could stand to lose. Katie Cassidy's Ella Sims is excluded, because she's clearly the show's breakout star, and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz's Violet is also off the list, because she's extremely crazy and no one likes her, but between the other regulars, Michael Rady, Jessica Lucas, Stephanie Jacobsen, Shaun Sipos and Colin Egglesfield, who should be safe, and who is a good candidate for a highly promotable sweeps-month killing-off?

Crap, sounds like Auggie is a goner. Poor, Colin. I didn't like him as fetus boy, but I thought he was good in this series.

This show sucks.

The only great thing is Katie Cassidy as Ella.

Im liking the show. Im finding it improving from the lackluster pilot. I dont like them bringing back the old cast and not having them interact. I really wanted to see Jane reunite with Michael or have some scenes with Jo

I shouldn't have read this board until I caught up with the first two episodes. Michael slept with Violet? SIIIIICK!

And I am so pissed at CW not giving Melrose a full season order. They better promote Locklear coming back and really give her something bitchtastic to do.

Melrose is easily my favorite primetime show.

He's Michael Mancini!! Dude's going to be sleeping with younger women until he dies.

Yeah, that's been disappointing.

Clearly the 90210 audience isn't the same as MP's. Have Gossip Girl and MP swap timeslots. I think that would be a better fit.

Not so bothered about Ashlee leaving, but Colin Egglesfield is a big loss to the show, I really enjoy his character. I think he needs to go to DAYS as Nicholas Alamain since a return to AMC90210 is out of the question.

Oh well, now I definitely have little reason to keep watching this shitfest. I hope The Lock is fantastic, but I'm doubting that Amanda's appearances will have any real meaning. The new characters are boring as hell.

You guys don't have to worry about Ashlee anymore

I knew they would get rid of Auggie. I didn't think they'd get rid of Violet that fast; I thought Syd's murder was going to play out the whole season and that Violet would be a big part of that story.

Poor Colin. I didn't like him as fetus boy, but I thought he was ok in this series.

Apparently they're going to be using her long term, so I'm guessing it will have more of a purpose than the pointless one offs that Jo and Jane had.

Amanda will be getting a love interest in the form of Billy Campbell, who is some sort of multi millionaire movie mogul so I'm guessing he'll be involved with Jonah as well.

And the new characters boring as hell?! Okay, I'll give you that with Riley and Jonah, but Lauren, David and Ella are seriously worth watching for.
