Not bringing back Paul Martin was a missed opportunity. I’ve always felt that in the 2000s, All My Children should have invested more in developing its original families, especially the Martins and the Tylers. As the show went on, it started drifting away from those families, and I think that was a mistake because they helped define the identity of Pine Valley. When a soap loses sight of the families that gave it its foundation, it can start to feel less rooted and less cohesive. Bringing Paul back, and putting more focus on the Martins and Tylers overall, could have helped preserve that sense of history and continuity.
