JR returns was a test for a revival of the show, but guess ratings weren't high enough.  Only positive of that movie was Cliff finally letting go of his vendetta against the Ewings and making a life with Afton.

Yes, that's what I thought. Thanks. It was nice years later when Dallas was revived on TNT, that Gary and Val showed up.

I always loved the theme music and graphics from this season.

KL always had a very catchy theme 😂

I also loved season 7 theme though you can't hear much of it here because of the voice over.

Interesting how season 8 of Dallas has the same drum beat as Knots.

I like how Jerrold Immel, who wrote the them for both, paid tribute to Dallas with the early versions of the KL theme, ending both with the same five staccato notes.

Sandy Dvore said that after he finished the painting used for those two seasons, he threw it in the trash. The woman he was dating at the time said she liked it so he dug it out of the trash and presented it to the Knots producers and the rest is history.

He was also upset that Y&R no longer credited him for his title design. He did all of the charcoal drawings in the early days and he created the YR logo. Notice the similarity of his YR and the way he scripted Knots Landing in the opening titles.

Can't believe he didn't think it was any good. Glad his gf saw it.

I knew he did both designs and yes Knots had that YR feel those two years. Do you recall when YR stopped crediting him for the logo? What is when they went to the red flowing background?

I think you are right, he said something about tuning in one day and his logo was all in red. It may have been sooner, I just watched ‘98 credits and he is not there.

Maybe I am biased but the French opening was quite something too. I was OBSESSED with this dramatic music back then.

I don't care for this opening because the credits going by sideways makes me feel dizzy. 😳😂
