Thanks. I always enjoy hearing more from those who were watching at the time. I feel like Loving is a show you can only appreciate if you were there in the long haul (even though generally I enjoy watching the show).

Wow, great sets, great cast, amazing production team; but ABC kept meddling. I never understood why Doug Marland didn't continue to get credit for co creating the show with Aggie. There's a story there.....  Who's the hunk who played the role of Trucker?

Wow! What a treat! And I think this is during the writers' strike too, a period that always fascinates me when I see more of it. Thanks for letting us know.

The decision is another example of the damage done from so much producer changeover, since within a year after that Perry Stephens was fired and Jack was recast, which destabilized Stacey. And then they turned Curtis crazy when they'd already had an unstable son for Gwyneth and Clay. Lots of long-term mistakes.

I'm glad to see a little more of Roya's last weeks in the role...and always glad to see more of Egypt. I can see why Linda Cook loved the role so much.

The Jim and Jack scenes are the type of simple and believable conversations between male friends that would get lost as the years passed in daytime. I still kind of wish they'd kept Jim around (it helps that the actor is easy on the eye), but I guess he was seen as holding Shana back.

@slick jones I think there may be some names in the cast list you could use.

Watched the July 5th episode and I must say this show could've had the potential to rehab itself. Someone was needed to stir this show around with a cohesive vision. This show suffered too many changeovers in its run.  I wonder how someone like Pamela Long would've done long-term in the 90's?

I miss characters in soaps like Ava who aspired to have more than their humble upbringing and will do anything to get it.  I loved her scene with Kate.

I would like to see more of Stacey/Jack/Rick story play out.  Hopefully, someone will uncover more episodes of that era soon.

BTW Lauren-Marie Taylor is on Instagram.

Early Ava was more like Nola Reardon. She seemed more like a Marland creation.

Rick was more or less like early Curtis at first. Curtis/Stacey/Jack/Ava was the story that should have been told. There was no real need for a Rick, but new writers and producers every other week will only harm a show.

Thanks for your insights, as always. Do you think they made a mistake moving Ava to Clay/Alex?

I wonder if she knows about these episodes.

I would have liked seeing Pam Long try the show. She wrote friendships well, which was a big part of Loving.

The Clay/Ava idea sounds good, but I never cared for RM or JH in the role (for different reasons). Once the charismatic Roya was gone and the Alex Masters saga started I was done with them.  All of the sudden the aristocratic Clay was involved in a mess straight out of Days and GH. The Aldens were not the family for this kind of story. Could you imagine John or Jack Abbott in a Rambo saga?

Lisa Peluso' s Ava was an airhead. Roya's character hid her pain behind her greed.

    • I guess it depends on your device.  I can watch CW shows via their website on my Windows PC.
    • Ooooo A Liam episode? I'll watch it later today. They sure are churning the daily episodes out early.

    • Welcome back, Shawn Douglas! It's been a while. It really is too bad that the writers don't really have an interest in the character because there are still a lot of ways that he can be used effectively on the canvas. He should have been a part of the 60th anniversary celebrations as well. If anything, just to represent Bo and Hope. And I'd much rather see Jada paired with him than possibly with Theo. But I enjoyed him getting caught up with Belle, and comforting her. I'm sure they'll find their way back to each other at some point but I do like them as divorced friends. I just hope we see it play out onscreen. Belle being a dick about Sami again was unnecessary though. And we finally saw Liam again!  I'm curious to see how this storyline is going to play out, and who's going to be weaved into it. He and Abe do work well together too. And we learned that he has a kid. Hopefully, we'll learn more about his character in the future. But I'm not really sure about Johnny and Chanel suddenly having problems with raising Trey. They've wanted a baby for so long, so I don't understand why this is even an issue. They should know by now what it's like to raise a baby. But I did enjoy Johnny's scenes with EJ, and that Johnny still hasn't refused to forgive him. This storyline was/is very clunky, but having the two of them be at odds is the right decision. There's so much story potential that can be drawn from that. As for Chad... there was no time for us to see his reunion with Will, but there's time for us to see him talking BS with Leo? I don't get it. And I don't get all this random dating app stuff either. Leo and Javi were boring af too. If we're forced to endure them, can they at least have some real conflict? The two of them losing the baby was the perfect opportunity for it.

    • I enjoy BF better on Days than on YR.   Chad is greater than Cane, in my opinion.
    • Ick! Seeing MS and BF making out as the characters onscreen was just ewwww.
