I've already uploaded a highschool project ("The Young & the Helpless") and a college project ("Travesty") I made a few years back. My user name is celebratingthesoaps. And I used a boom mic in "Travesty"! Remember those, GL? It's a microphone that dangles above the actors to get better audio!

It absolutely does look like a bad high school video production. Most college projects look better than this. I should know, I was the worst production hand in film student history.

What's sad is you can totally tell that P&G probably looked at these shows, squinted, winced, sucked air through their teeth, and then said 'yeah...uh, s'alright, s'alright.' Because all they care about is the cash, not the shows anymore, and they'll let anything slide to keep the money. Everything about this GL looks like they all winced but decided it was passable.

GL looks and sounds cheap. What were they thinking?

The sound thing I don't understand. I've seen the behind the scenes promos and they are using boom mics. Obviously just not very efficiently.

Kwing do you have a problem? We haven't seen you around for months, then you come back starting some nonsense with people on the board. If you want a pro-GL board, where you can only say how great the show (and Ellen Wheeler/DK are) then go find one. SON members aren't going to hide their disdain for the current regime and look of the show just to suit your agenda.

The least PGP could've done was run a series of "test shows" to see how GL could've been adapted to the new format before subjecting the masses to it. These kinds of mistakes (in audio, camera direction, and so forth) should never be allowed to air.

Honestly, I thought that's what GL and ATWT were doing this summer/fall. ATWT managed to dial down the nausea-inducing rocking motion, and improve the lighting. ATWT's outdoor stuff looks miles better than this. I don't think GL's stuff looks bad because of the new cameras, I think it's something in how they're using it.

About Friday's eppy...I think they strained to mash all the characters into the episode launch. I still have no clue why or when Remy started freelancing for Lewis.

It is actually a very specific reference. There's only two or three people I think who might get why I use this name and that sig. Suffice to say it was used elsewhere before, by me, in something I used to write anonymously.

It looks like TPTB still don't know what to do with Remy. IMO he's never had a s/l that made any sense. If he's susposed to be "the angry man" it's way past time for an explanation WHY. The actor on the other hand has not grown one iota (again IMO)and seems to get worse each time he's on camera.

As far as the new look is concerned---I might as well add my 2cents ----- sooooooooo ----- there is no way a Southern New Jersey town and it's surrounding area in the fall/winter can substitute for Illinois in the fall/winter. The wardrobe works but nothing else does. The mild weather works for New Jersey but not so much for Illinois----where is the snow/wind/cold???? I guess TPTB couldn't wrap their tiny brains around using up-state NY, because that would have made much more sense.

^^ Well, Springfield is suppose to be a fictional town somewhere in the USA, but someone goofed it up and said the state of Illinois. Was it during Phillip and Harley's wedding? Plus, some characters are always mentioning about going to Chicago all the time. And then you had Gus being a Cubs fan.

Watched today's as I was home... By the end of the episode I kinda got used to it but at first, man. I was NOT expecting it to look this cheap. What's with the extreme close ups? Shooting things from the floor at weird angles? and the shakiness? Howcome ten years ago The City did all this *way way* better? Shouldn't things be improved? And why are the colours so dreary?

I do hope they manage to make it work though...

I watched it today for about 2-3 minutes. Honestly the closeups are waaaay too close..and the editing is totally random. Sometimes I have no idea what the cameramen are filming..it's just really really bad.
