Drew, she has NEVER gotten a Pre-Nom, this isn't the first time. Sharon Case has been on there many times. Victoria Rowell has been giving amazing performances, but since control was given to the cast and crew, she wasn't recongnized. You can look at Y&R's pre-noms and tell it was ALL ABOUT FAVORITES among the cast. Darcy Rose Byrnes over Davetta or Adrienne Leon? WTF?

Plus there are other reasons we can speculate about because we won't know until there are further details. I just don't think it was a positive exit at all. We know she's enjoying the story because she's said it several times, so why leave now? In the middle of the biggest story she's had in years?

I MUCH preferred her 'Foster Care' storyline, and her damage control work in the Lily paternity story. Last year was just a bunch of random, contrived, BS, which she sold quite well.

Now I know referring to DAYS in another soap's thread has become a small crime around here, but the academy pisses on DAYS every year. Should Corday just cancel DAYS because he's human? No. You keep on keeping on, doing the thing you claim to love to do.

Days got pissed on because it was terrible and laughable and has a horrible reputation. I don't even get the comparison you're trying to make.

God, I am still in shock. I guess I'm like Kenny, in that these characters me so much to me. I moved around a lot as a kid and I always felt like soaps were my constant. No matter where I was living I could count on familiar faces. :(

I know comings and goings have always been a part of soaps, but I feel like I've lost so many of those familiar faces I love lately. At least, Ashley will be on B&B, but still.

One thing I've always liked Y&R for is having a strong AA family that fit into the show so well. I hope they bring in someone new for Neil, instead of getting rid of the Winter's all together.

No, thankfully. I must be blocking that time period out. Normally, I'm all for recasts. I think it was Bill Bell himself who felt any character could be recast, but I sure hope not in this case. I'd rather see Neil deal with losing Dru and putting his life back together.

    • Anyway...they literally mentioned the secret room today on Days and yes, this show needs a Kristen lesbian story lol.
    • Yes, they did a 'premiere' of Maggie's death episodes at the ArcLight theatre in Los Angeles, arguably then the nicest movie theatre chain in the USA. Plus, Suzanne and Deidre were in a ton of scenes together during this time. Whatever happened between them happened after 2004.
    • There are episodes with Jenny (Mary Ellen Stuart) that she was in pre-writers strike.. and I know that she lasts until at least August 1988. It's a shame that the show didn't try pairing her with Rusty since the two had more chemistry than she had with Ross and that he had with Rose.
    • Was that when she put on the"Slut of Springfield" red dress and made a complete ass of herself at the CC, so of course Alan fell madly in love with her on the spot?
    • Oohh...now I'm not sure. Long did come back in '87, didn't she. She broke up Ross and Vanessa almost from her first minute back. Van and Ross are at the Country Club when Josh dumps Reva. And Reva dramatically drapes herself on the CC stairs.
    • Glad you enjoyed watching. Yes, Michael seems like fun. I am always interested in more of these niche talk show appearances.
    • Thanks for the tag @DRW50
    • Upon reflection, I think you're right, their chilliness toward each other was more recent. She said women on the show in 1984 were not supportive and she still stays away from them. She seems friendly with Susan Hayes so Deidre is the only woman still around from those days, though I guess Kristian Alfonso and Leann Hunley could also qualify. And it might be someone long gone but who is still present in Suzanne's social circles.
    • I don't know.  The animosity seems to be more recent than the mid 80s.  When Maggie was a victim of the Salem Stalker i remember reading an interview with Suzanne where she said they aired the episode(s) surrounding Maggie death in a theatre and made a big deal about it.  Suzanne was very upset about being fired and Dee comforted her and said that they were making such a big deal about it because it was Suzanne/Maggie.  I cannot find the article but I will keep trying. That said Suzanne's comments on Soapy about how some of the female cast members treated her during her illness was disappointing to hear to say the least.
    • Anyway... Kristen should have a prison lesbian story arc. And then come out and become obsessed with Marlena so we can move her on from the Brady nonsense. Is that secret room still in the DiMera mansion?
