  1. Eve and JJ are in her bedroom where JJ wonders why Eve brought him back there. Eve shrugs. She's not even sure. Eve wanted to talk to JJ in private. JJ figures a bedroom couldn't be more private. Eve shakes her head. JJ knows exactly why Eve brought him back there. JJ isn't sure they should do this again. Eve says she has a bottle of wine out front. JJ asks what happens after that drink. Eve looks down at the bed. At the hospital, Jennifer tries calling Roxanne back. When she gets Roxanne's voicemail, Jennifer leaves a message, insisting Roxanne return her call. Lucas drops into Jennifer's office. He was going to see Sonny, but Adrienne's in with him. Jennifer wonders why that would stop Lucas from going in to see his son-in-law. Lucas recalls kissing Adrienne. He shakes the thought away, claiming he doesn't want to intrude. Lucas can remember how he felt when people would interrupt his time with Will when he was in the hospital. Lucas notices the keys on Jennifer's desk. "E.L." Jennifer confirms they are Eve's. Lucas asks why she has them, and Jennifer explains Eve left them. Jennifer admits she thought about using them to find out what Eve's hiding. Lucas smirks. A scheming side. Finally, a family trait they share. Jennifer laughs. She informs Lucas of her younger scheming days. Lucas had nothing on her! However, Jennifer realizes she needs to return the keys to Eve and just give it up. Adrienne comes out of Sonny's room and calls out to Kayla, wondering if she has a minute. Kayla looks at her watch. She has a meeting shortly, but can talk to Adrienne. Adrienne wonders if Kayla ever found out what caused Sonny to get worked up the other day. Kayla shakes her head. He never made mention. Will didn't either. Kayla thinks it could've been nothing, just a normal reaction that was heightened due to the wound. Adrienne hopes so. She doesn't want to see her son dealing with anything besides recovery right now. Kayla thinks that's a great idea. The last thing Sonny needs is to deal with outside stress. Adrienne flashes back to kissing Lucas outside the town square. Adrienne nods, agreeing with Kayla. Theresa is shocked to find Anne still at the hospital. Anne says she received notice of an impromptu meeting with Dr. Johnson. Theresa wonders what her aunt would need to talk to Anne about. Anne isn't sure. She questions if Theresa said anything to Kayla about the other day. Theresa swears she said nothing. To anybody. Anne hopes so. Anne has saved Theresa's ass too many times to be thrown under the bus because of some brainless billionaire. Anne wonders what Theresa is doing at the hospital. Theresa admits she wanted to use the hospital resources, but the Internet server is down and she's unable to. She'll have to rely on her own resources, Theresa guesses. Anne receives a call, notifying her Kayla is ready. Jennifer knocks on Eve's apartment door. No answer. Jennifer pulls out the keys Eve left behind at the hospital and uses them to open the door. Jennifer calls out to Eve. Surprised Eve emerges from the back, demanding to know what Jennifer is doing in her home. Jennifer shows the keys and says she wanted to return them. When Eve didn't answer, Jennifer let herself in. Eve tells Jennifer she needs to go. Now! Just before Jennifer makes it to the door, JJ comes out. His eyes widen when he sees his mom. Jennifer wants to know what's going on. Eve manages to cover by picking up a box of things Paige gathered that belonged to JJ. She claims JJ came over to pick them up, so Paige didn't have to see him. JJ goes along with Eve's story. Jennifer looks doubtful, but keeps it to herself. She wonders if JJ is ready to head home now that he has his things. JJ nods and leaves with the box. Jennifer turns to Eve one last time before walking out the door. Alone, Eve covers her mouth at what just happened. At the Kiriakis mansion, Adrienne is on the phone, giving Jo an update on Sonny. Doctors are still unsure how much longer he'll remain in the hospital. Adrienne promises to have Sonny call his grandmother tomorrow. Adrienne is startled when she turns around and finds Lucas. He tells her they need to talk about what happened the other night... Eve pours a glass of wine. As she runs her hand through her hair, Eve wonders what the hell is wrong with her. JJ is practically a child. Eve takes a sip of her wine. "How screwed up am I?" JJ walks into the Horton house with the box from Paige's in hand. Jennifer follows. She looks at the box JJ sits down and then at her son. Jennifer asks if JJ wants to talk about it. JJ shakes his head no. He should start on homework due tomorrow. JJ heads upstairs and Jennifer calls out to him. She reminds JJ that she's there if he needs to talk. JJ nods and continues up the steps. Jennifer sighs. Her phone rings, and it's Kayla with good news. Anne Milbauer will no longer be a problem for them. She was fired for trying to drug Brady Black. Hospital security cameras captured the deed. Jennifer calls it a new low. Kayla notices Jennifer's reaction. It's much more low-key than she expected. Jennifer admits she has something else on her mind. The ladies make plans to grab breakfast before work tomorrow. Jennifer hangs up and looks up the stairs. At the pub, Theresa contemplates searching Dr. Mandrake's name in a search engine database on her cell phone. Just as she types the doctor's name and presses "SEARCH," the phone is yanked out of Theresa's hand by Anne! She's furious and demands to know what Theresa told her Aunt Kayla. Theresa asks what Anne is talking about. Anne explains that Kayla just fired her. Anne refuses to go down alone and all she has on Theresa will cost her job too!

    Spring Previews!

"The first six months of story will really be a transition period," explains Head Writer Drew Hamilton. "There's a big milestone coming in the fall that will celebrate 50 years of the show's history. To be able to honor that properly, everything needs to be in a certain place by the time the anniversary gets here. Spring is just the beginning. We'll touch on young love, secrets from the past and shocking revelations." Aiden/Hope: Aiden took a big step admitting the truth to Hope. In a way, it solidified their relationship. However, something happens that causes Aiden to question his decision to call Salem home. Doug/Julie: Doug and Julie come home to support their family. Julie also has a bone to pick with another character in Salem, regarding money from the past. Eve: Eve and JJ nearly get caught in the act. The near-miss knocks some sense into Eve and she puts an end to her trysts with Jack's son. Look for her to start interacting with other characters, particularly one who she strikes a friendship with. JJ/Paige: Paige wants to move on from JJ, but she finds it difficult. JJ has an equal hard time trying to push his ex away. Especially when they start working close together at St. Luke's annual carnival. The carnival's kissing booth has history of bringing reignited young love in the past. Will it work for these two? Theresa/Brady/Melanie: When Theresa's job at the hospital is threatened, Brady offers to speak on her behalf as part of the hospital board. Despite what Theresa's done in the past, Brady was moved by her decision to stop Anne's trick. Melanie notices this change of heart on Brady and starts to wonder if she should be concerned that their blossoming romance might be threatened. Also, look for Theresa to develop a questionable medical condition. Justin/Adrienne/Lucas: Will's affair has effects on all three. Lucas stands by his son. Justin wants to stand by his, and lashes out at his son-in-law for her misdeed. Adrienne feels torn. She wants to support Sonny, but her past and recent actions cause her to understand Will. Daniel/Nicole: Nicole puts her foot down with Daniel. If they're going to move forward together, Daniel needs to commit and be okay with Nicole, flaws and all. Eric/Serena: Serena becomes desperate to get the elephant statue in her hands. There's more to the statue than just fine art. It connects to a very popular DAYS storyline from the past. Eric will remain in the dark about Serena's agenda, while offering to help her search for the statue, which finds its way around town from hand to hand. Sonny/Will/Paul: Sonny makes a big decision that leaves Will crushed. Will realizes he's more like his mom than he ever imagined and he has a hard time with this. All Will wants to do is save his marriage and family. Meanwhile, Paul questions how stable the marriage ever was when he notices cracks within the union. Chad/Abigail/Ben: Chad sets his sights back on Abigail, which was an apparent plan Stefano sent him back to Salem to execute. Chad gets instructions to follow that he doesn't necessarily agree with at first. However, he soon realizes his father was right when Abigail sees the DiMera in a different light. Meanwhile, the outcome of Ben's hearing has lasting effects that brings out a dark side in the man. Rafe/Jordan: Jordan gets an exciting opportunity she cannot pass up on. Unfortunately, the opportunity will send her out of town. Salem has become home to Jordan. There are people she's going to miss, like Rafe. These two shared something special once upon a time. Look for that to be touched upon again before Jordan leaves.

    What to expect...

The most recent version of ‘As Days Go By’ was approaching its 2 year anniversary this summer. What made you decide to restart? There were a lot of factors that went into the decision. I have to admit one of the reasons was Keith bringing ‘Our Days in Salem’ back and picking up with the current storylines on the real show. Through his work, I saw the potential the current canvas has. I wanted to take advantage of that potential. Currently, the show’s stories and characters are very different from when you took over the writing duties in the summer of 2013. Sami and EJ are no longer on the show. Kristen now only makes sporadic appearances. The show brought back both of Shane Donovan’s daughters, Theresa and Eve. Exactly! Though, I did send Sami out of town as well. With the love of her life Lucas, I may add. You’re right, though; the new opportunities were so tempting to pass up. Theresa Donovan is a character writers dream to have land in their lap. She has no chill button. You can do so much with her. And I’m looking forward to writing for her. As for Eve, I’ll reveal that I had plans to bring Eve onto ADGB for May sweeps. Her return would be very different than how the real show brought her back, which I don’t think was very well. The potential was certainly there in the beginning with rights to Jack’s book and all. And then it sort of just fell flat once they started having her sleep with her daughter’s boyfriend. Speaking of JJ and Eve’s affair, it’s just one of the many stories the fans have been crying foul about. What is your honest opinion about the current state of the show’s stories? I think they’re awful. I’m just being honest. A lot of what we’re seeing sounds good on paper. The execution, however, has been horrendous. JJ and Eve is one the biggest blunders I see right now. There was no real motivation to make it happen, which was certainly necessary. Otherwise, it really hurts the characters. A mother sleeping with her daughter’s boyfriend is a soap staple. Marion sleeping with Tad while he dated Liza is considered a top moment for All My Children. It’s due to the way it was handled, though. I don’t think years from now, the same will be said for JJ and Eve. What about the other stories going on? Like JJ and Eve’s affair, I think some of the other stories have great potential. It’s just not being capitalized, it seems. Serena Mason has been on this show since December and all we know is she came for an elephant statue. An elephant statue. Everything doesn’t have to be revealed all at once, but we should have more insight into Serena’s agenda than we do right now. Same can be said about Chad. It was recently revealed through a conversation with Stefano that Chad came back to seduce Abigail. There has been no indication of this through the character’s actions. Why? You can’t just have the character say these things and call it a story without some sort of build up. What do you plan to do about this problem? I don’t want to give too much away, as I’ll be giving out spring previews before the premiere and there will be hints as to what’s coming up. What I do want to promise is I’m going to be taking a look at what’s working and what’s not. There is no reason why Nicole doesn’t have a single person on her side. I get it, she did a pretty bad thing to Eric Brady. The Bradys are royalty in Salem. People are going to have something to say about her and not want to be around her. Not everyone though. She can be the town pariah and still have some support. For things that aren’t working, like certain characters, will you be getting rid of them? There’s a set of rules the late and great Douglas Marland has when it comes to writing a successful soap. One says you don’t get rid of anyone for the first 6 months. Correct. And I’ve always tended to agree with those rules, besides this one. If a character isn’t working, why prolong it and make the audience suffer? Sure, some characters can be fixed when written differently. Some can’t, however. There are several characters that will be written off. The fans have no interest in them. And neither do I. What are your thoughts on writing for the veteran characters? A passing of the torch, if you want to call it that, is necessary. Especially on a show like DAYS that’s based on adventure storylines and intrigue. John Black cannot do the same things he did in the 80s and 90s. He just can’t. What he can do, however, is act as a mentor to the next Salem hero. It not only keeps John in the action, it also establishes a newer character within the fans eyes. Fans of John’s will become fans of the new character. At least that’s the hope. It sounds like you want to bring back the concept of multi-generational storylines. Totally! I think those work best. Fans get to still see their favorites, and we get to also usher in a new generation of characters that will be the future of the show. It has to happen for the show to last. The last time, I think we saw it done successfully was in the 80s. And that’s unfortunate. I’m a 90s fan when it comes to DAYS. That’s when I started. However, one thing I notice when I look back, younger characters weren’t being developed to become leaders and take over storylines. Yes, we had Sami, Carrie, Austin and Lucas. That was it, however. And only one of those characters in that group remains. A gripe fans have when it comes to new and younger characters is the lack of connection with the history of the show. How will you overcome that obstacle? It’s a gripe of mine as well. There is 50 years worth of history. There are so many characters that can be brought in and their connections to the show’s history have already been established. What did Noelle Curtis and Benjamin Carver grow up to do? Where is Andrew Donovan? What does Sarah Horton think of Maggie’s marriage to Victor? Justin and Adrienne have three other sons besides Sonny. The character list is endless! Before we end the interview, I know you said you have spring previews coming out before the premiere, but please leave the fans with some more insight on what to expect, if you will. Fans can expect to see several characters that just aren’t working being shown the door. There will be some characters that aren’t exactly liked by fans sticking around, but that’s because I think there are other sides to the characters to explore that the fans will enjoy. We have a very large cast. It’s going to be reduced, for sure, so I there can be a focus on the characters we have left. Expect to see Marlena Evans take her place as the show’s center character. I’m a firm believer that the character, with all of her history, deserves it. As I stated previously, we’re going to be digging into the show’s history and bringing on characters the fans have been asking to see. It’s time their story gets told. At the end of the day, this show was created and based upon family. It’s my mission to get back to the basics.
  4. I really hope whoever replaces Kate at Oakdale Now also replaces Kate in Brad's life. He deserves so much better than that trash. Bye Gwen! Alison has diabetes?! I see ANWT is about to actually tackle a social story. I'm interested!
  5. DrewH

    Episode 278

Don't even tell me that Colin's alive! Thank God Ali's not pregnant. I want Aaron and Alison to break up! That would been a nice Snyder reunion to see. Poor Babs...
  6. DrewH

    Episode 277

Glad to see that Jack's back. Now he's got some explaining to do as to where he's been. Bye Katie! Don't come back! The Cabot storyline's getting juicy!!
  7. DrewH

    Episode 264

Damn! I wanted Mac to be a good guy. I hope there's still hope that he's a character that has lasting potential. Glad to see Craig, Rosanna and Carrie are all closing in on the same story.
  8. DrewH

    Episode 261

I know Jade didn't kill Colin. I want to know who did though. I think you should've had Brad hire Steve Johnson as his PI and not this Neil Garner.
  9. DrewH

    Episode 259

Dusty and Emily Barbara's in denial. She is totally trying to replace Jen with Belle...oops! I mean Carrie. Yay, Paul and Rosanna are official! Craig's like family to Lily and always will be no matter what he does. Holden needs to realize that. Holden and Lily really need something added to spice them up. They're so boring! Molly needs to come back and raise some hell for these two.
  10. DrewH

    Episode 258

That was the fastest reunion I've ever witnessed on a soap for Dusty and Emily. Jade's looking guilty, too guilty. Someone else must've killed Colin. Paul sounds like a freaking baby, complaining to Mommy how a girl stopped him from beating up another guy. Grow up!
  11. DrewH

    Episode 257

Nice to see you're taking a page out of my book with the picture and caption. LOL! I do like Paul, only when he's with Rosanna though. Hey Katie, MIND YO BUSINESS!
  12. DrewH

    Episode 255

Glad to see Susan talking some sense into Emily. Carly used the word "douche!" Keep Katie away from Mac please!
  13. DrewH

    Episode 253

Shut up, Lucinda!! I wish someone would vandalize Katie's face. I want Casey and Gwen
  14. DrewH

    Episode 251

Brad scores points from me for calling Katie a bitch. I knew Luke would end up in trouble protecting Jade. I like Mac so far, so I'm hoping that Brad's wrong and he turns out to be a nice guy and not some creep, trying to move in on Carly. Although, if he turned out to be a conman, it would be right down Carly's alley because isn't that how she arrived in Oakdale? If that's the case, then they're destined to be together. Either way, I just want Grant Show and Maura West together.
  15. DrewH

    Episode 250

Go Kim! I have a feeling that Luke's going to get himself into big trouble for helping Jade.
  16. DrewH

    Episode 249

Susan wanting Michael to be completely honest with her can't involve Lyla's secret, can it? That's something Michael can't be honest about. Doctor/patient confidentiality, anyone? Dusty screwed himself over. Part of me doesn't want Emily to go back to him, but the other part of me wants these two together so damn bad. Good for Carly to tell Rosanna the right thing and to think clearly, even though she hates Craig as much as the next guy. Uh oh. Jade's got some 'splainin to do!
  17. DrewH

    Episode 248

Luke would do anything for his cousin and vice versa. I've always enjoyed Luke and Jade's relationship. But I know the truth is going to come out sooner or later, and Jade's going to have to face the music. Good to have some suspense return to Oakdale! God, Aaron and Alison just need to break up! And I don't think Alison should go to Dusty either if it happens. Alison needs a new doctor to come to town and sweep her off her feet. Leave it to Craig to tell Brad the hard truth. The truth hurts, huh Brad?
  18. YES! The bitch is gone...for now at least. I'm glad to see Colin leaving as well. His character never took off, IMO. Pointless to me. And I can't even imagine the hot chemistry that would be present in scenes between Maura West and Grant Show. Hot! Great casting choice!
  19. So glad to see Hunt's back as Craig. While I know Scotty Bryce is the original Craig, Hunt is my Craig. I'm interested to see how Carrie reacts to Darryl's return. I know it's not going to be pretty, and Barbara is going to realize she f'ed up again. There are a few characters I'd love to see leave, ahem, KATIE!
  20. YES! YES! YES! :D Katie's losing everything and getting exactly what she deserves. There is a God! Oh Babs, you always think you're doing the right thing, but you're far from it. Carrie's going to flip if she brings Darryl to Oakdale. Lucinda vs. Emily sounds so good! Craig's back! Yay! Who's playing him though?
  21. DrewH

    Episode 233

I feel bad for Brad. He deserves someone much better than Katie! Tense Lucinda and Clark scenes!
  22. DrewH

    Episode 231

Casey and Gwen! Hmm... Call me strange, but I think Aaron and Jade woule be hot together. She may actually make him interesting.
  23. DrewH

    Episode 228

Quit being a bitch, Gwen. Snapping at Jade was kind of uncalled for. She hasn't even been in their orbit since she's been back. Get a life! Rosanna vs. Meg should be a treat. Katie... Colin's gone?? Thank God! Will and Carrie could be something great.
  24. DrewH

    Episode 218

Carly knows! Get her, Carly!!! Looks like there's trouble in paradise for Tom and Margo.
  25. DrewH

    Episode 214

I find it hard to accept Carly's urging Rosanna to drop the search for Cabot. If it were Parker, JJ or Sage out there, you know no one would be abe to tell Carly such a thing. Keep up the Barbara/Carrie/Paul storyline!
