Because Heather Tom is one of the actresses they don't care about. With Sharon Case they gave her the world to stay. With St. John, Rowell and Tom it's "take the scraps or leave."

But back then Y&R had a cast full of richly defined BILL BELL characters to replace Dru with. The canvas then and now is no contest. Losing any little actor is a big loss to the show.

The character of Sharon does nothing for me, so if Case leaves, I won't even bat an eyelash. I just feel that Tom was a more valuable asset than Case.

The reason she barely resigned in '05 was because Jack Smith didn't approach her and Kristoff about resigning until after there contracts were up.

Semi-agree on the bold stuff.

I don't say the ratings ALL BUT depend on the black audience, but it makes up a large percentage. Will they be put off enough to stop watching Y&R? I dunno.

Y&R had a large black audience before the Barber Sisters were introduced, right?

They should have done everything in their power to keep her. This was a *BIG* mistake.

Have the prenoms even been released yet?! How do we know she left because she didn't get a prenom? She deserved one that's for sure, but I don't think it could have been JUST that.

Dru, even though she has significant airtime, is a caricature these days. But then again, so are a lot of Y&R characters.

Have you been sleeping under a rock someplace? LoL!

Check out the Emmy forum. There's some, uh... well... a few shockers.

I can't believe people are actually saying that she is leaving because she didn't get a pre-nom. How do we know that she didn't take herself out of the running? I know she did it for the NAACP's. Maybe she decided not to submit herself for the emmy's too.

How do you know they didn't? You can offer a person everything in the world to stay and they can leave anyway.

I agree, she definitely wouldn't be that childish about the whole situation. She's been doing a lot in movies over the past year, I think a lot has to do with her wanting the time to try out new things.

Dru is the backbone of the Winters & Babers clan. Without Dru the family are boring. CK Lily doesn't have a back or a bone to carrying the Winters or the Babers. Neil & Devon are boring as hell. They might as well get rid of the Winters & Babers clan now.

    • Anyway...they literally mentioned the secret room today on Days and yes, this show needs a Kristen lesbian story lol.
    • Yes, they did a 'premiere' of Maggie's death episodes at the ArcLight theatre in Los Angeles, arguably then the nicest movie theatre chain in the USA. Plus, Suzanne and Deidre were in a ton of scenes together during this time. Whatever happened between them happened after 2004.
    • There are episodes with Jenny (Mary Ellen Stuart) that she was in pre-writers strike.. and I know that she lasts until at least August 1988. It's a shame that the show didn't try pairing her with Rusty since the two had more chemistry than she had with Ross and that he had with Rose.
    • Was that when she put on the"Slut of Springfield" red dress and made a complete ass of herself at the CC, so of course Alan fell madly in love with her on the spot?
    • Oohh...now I'm not sure. Long did come back in '87, didn't she. She broke up Ross and Vanessa almost from her first minute back. Van and Ross are at the Country Club when Josh dumps Reva. And Reva dramatically drapes herself on the CC stairs.
    • Glad you enjoyed watching. Yes, Michael seems like fun. I am always interested in more of these niche talk show appearances.
    • Thanks for the tag @DRW50
    • Upon reflection, I think you're right, their chilliness toward each other was more recent. She said women on the show in 1984 were not supportive and she still stays away from them. She seems friendly with Susan Hayes so Deidre is the only woman still around from those days, though I guess Kristian Alfonso and Leann Hunley could also qualify. And it might be someone long gone but who is still present in Suzanne's social circles.
    • I don't know.  The animosity seems to be more recent than the mid 80s.  When Maggie was a victim of the Salem Stalker i remember reading an interview with Suzanne where she said they aired the episode(s) surrounding Maggie death in a theatre and made a big deal about it.  Suzanne was very upset about being fired and Dee comforted her and said that they were making such a big deal about it because it was Suzanne/Maggie.  I cannot find the article but I will keep trying. That said Suzanne's comments on Soapy about how some of the female cast members treated her during her illness was disappointing to hear to say the least.
    • Anyway... Kristen should have a prison lesbian story arc. And then come out and become obsessed with Marlena so we can move her on from the Brady nonsense. Is that secret room still in the DiMera mansion?
