Won't post the text for fear of it being edited, but the website shares that John O'Hurley(Current Host of FAMILY FEUD), Todd Newton(Ex-Host of WHAMMY!: THE ALL NEW PRESS YOUR LUCK and current host of the casino version of PRICE), and Doug Davidson(Paul, Y&R and Ex-Host of the 1994 Syndie PRICE) are expected to audition later this week for Bob Barker's spot. The online website also dishes that Rich Fields(Current PRICE announcer) and Mark Walberg(of PBS's ANTIQUES ROADSHOW and the ill fated 90's talker THE MARK WALBERG SHOW).

Now...not sure how many of you follow gameshows, but CLEARLY, of the emcees we have here, Todd Newton is the best choice. He's hot, he has GREAT energy, he has experience in hosting game shows. I can totally see Newton establishing a friendly camaraderie with the contestants. At least moreso than the rest of the choices.

-Doug Davidson is DULL, DULL, DULL! There are many factors that go into why Syndie PRICE '94 didn't work and HE was one of them.

-John O'Hurley is such an annoying bastard and interacts with contestants like he's there to get a paycheck instead of actually being excited to be there.

-And a big fat *NO* to Rich Fields. What a dull announcer.

-Mark Walberg is like paint drying.

The article also goes on to say that Bob Barker will have no say on who succeeds him in his role as host, that it is all CBS/Fremantle. I hope that doesn't mean CBS/Fremantle will try to modernize the show by adding laser lights, video panels, and stupid crap like that, the way they did with Syndie PRICE 94. Part of THE PRICE IS RIGHT's appeal is that the excitement is in the contestants and the prices, not so much the visuals.

John O'Hurley, Doug Davidson, and Mark Wahlberg---no, no, no!!!! Especially John. He would do his J. Peterman sctick on there and I don't want to see that.

I'd go for Todd. He's good-looking, has a great voice, and doesn't talk down to the contestants. I really liked him on WHAMMY!

That would effing ROCK! Shame I'm not in LA.

Todd Newton is TOTALLY gonna rock this audition! He's at the top of my list of hot game show hosts. Right next to George Gray(ex-WEAKEST LINK host). Would love for Gray to be considered, but he's not warm and friendly.

My wish list of the three doing auditions this Thursday?

1. TODD NEWTON

2. Doug Davidson

3. John O'Hurley

Good thing Michael Burger's name is nowhere NEAR this audition. I know the folks at Fremantle smoke rock, but his presence alone would just cripple the entire game show industry.

I hope with a new host, they can get a new announcer. Burton "ARSENIOOOOOOOO" Richardson was ALWAYS fab. Or maybe they can steal Johnny Gilbert from JEOPARDY!

I wouldn't necessarily be OPPOSED to Doug Davidson getting the job. He's tan, he's friendly, and not THAT terrible to look at.

He wasn't that bad during Syndie PRICE '94. I just didn't think he fit very well with such a cheesy wannabe hipster clone of THE PRICE IS RIGHT. They should have gotten Ryan Seacrest(pre-IDOL, Botox, and CappySmile) to do that version.

It didn't help that the show had no contestants row, moved WAY too fast, had that ANNOYING video wall, and the showcase was a big scale version of PRICE RANGE! Are you effing KIDDING ME?!

Bumping this up. Any news?

I say a HELL NO to Doug Davidson (no offense to him, though).

Walt Willey would be wonderful but I'm hoping for Todd Newton. Something about him is SO likable.

They better not pick John O'Hurley. Ugh I don't like him.
