I had to start this thread while the show was going. I just want to say that I absolutley loved the Hope/Chelsea/Bo scenes from the show so far. It brought a huge smile to my face to see Hope not only give Chelsea a hug but help her with her ornament. Amazing moment and by far my favorite from the show so far.

It is a great show today but I have to ask something. Does Bonnie know that her daughter is missing?

I'm watching now and today's show is pretty good.

Great show today! Great X-mas episode. A lot happened today.

I liked the Chelsea/Hope scenes, but I prefer them fighting. And this seemed a little out of the blue to me.

When did things mellow between Chelsea and Hope? Doesn't Hope know that Chelsea emailed her the photo of Bo and Billie in bed?

Excellent episode. The ball-hanging and the closing montage made me all teary-eyed. Beautiful song, perfect images. I think I started to cry at "My darling Tom..." Frances Reid looks so weak now. It hurts my heart to realize she probably won't be with us much longer. A beautiful woman with a beautiful spirit. She has always been the heart of Days.

There was so much to enjoy in this episode. Loved Steve with the kiddies at the hospital. The way he told the Christmas story was a pure hoot, and pure Patch. So glad they didn't try to have him read it "straight." Watching Kayla and Stephanie's double-takes during the "reading" was half the fun :) Loved Steve pinching "Bearegard's" cheek.

Hope and Bo made me cry today too. I'm so glad finally able to help each other through this now. The Chelsea/Hope bonding struck me as a little "out of the blue" but it was still heart-warming. I think Rachel Melvin is just the most amazing actress. I think she's going to be huge for Days if she stays with the role. I really "felt" Chelsea/Nick for the first time today. The hug during the closing montage got to me; they look right together somehow.

Loved Lumi today! They're just so damned cute with each other. Sami, put Lucas out of his misery already. They're turning blue ;)

I'm a Clay fan (duh) but not a fan of stunt casting and gimmick appearances. I usually cringe through "special guest" episodes and expected to cringe here too. I was happily surprised by the way Clay's appearance was handled. It seemed pretty organic and didn't feel too forced to me.

My two favorite lines today:

Steve to Kayla - "This may be your worst idea yet, and I remember now!"

Steve to the kids - "God sent his head angel out there to start the buzz, spread the word, everybody was excited. Shepherds were hitchin' donkey rides, ya got these three wise dudes, they're followin' the north star, haulin' camel to get to see the baby Jesus."

I could have done without the Clay though.

The Clay thing was just right. I'm so glad the focus was not on him. It worked out very well the way they did it, IMO. SOOOO much better than the lame Smokey Robinson thing.

Oh, also, God, I hate Doug and Julie.

Nick: "My mom tells me you two are so extravagant!"

Julie: "We ARE!"

Gag me, b!tch! Both of you, go die and take Hope with you!

I think we saw the first hints of the mellowing between Hope and Chelsea on Thanksgiving. Hope kind if ignored her and my guess is she felt bad since Chelsea ended up leaving. Hogan said there are some more scenes coming up of Hope reconciling with Chelsea and Billie. Hope forgave Bo so she probably figured it was time to let go of the anger. I wish we could've seen more focus on that the last few weeks but for some reason it worked because of what happened on Thanksgiving and Hope probably saw how unconfortable Chelsea was then and how unconfortable she was today until Hope kissed her and helped her. I had no problem with it. What I liked was they finally had Chelsea showing alot of remorse for Zack's death. We had her tears when Zack's ornament was placed on the tree and her behavior around Hope and Bo showed she felt bad and was very uncomfortable around them. I agree it was out of the blue but I guess I can accept it.

The episode was fantastic. A typical Days Christmas and much better then last year, which didn't have the emotional impact they usually have. I actually teared up a bit at the end with Clay singing and the montage of all the couples and everyone celebrating Christmas.

Clay's scenes weren't as annoying as I thought and I like his voice so I was cool with the scenes. The focus was just right and I like how it wasn't really about Clay but about the couples and the holiday. That song was perfect for Steve and Kayla and for all the couples on Days. I loved Steve reading the Christmas story in his own way and his little speech. Kayla and Stephanie looked scared stiff about what he was going to do and the scenes were perfect. Loved Steve putting on the glasses and his little santa pin was cute. Steve pinching Bo was hilarious.

Bo playing Santa Clause was nice too and all the hospital scenes were heartwarming.

The Horton House was just as nice and heartwarming as always. Francis looked well and it was so nice to see her. Same to Doug and Julie. Loved Sami/Lucas/Will and Lucas telling Sami it will be her turn next year. Belle, Shawn, and Claire really fit in well and I loved the Belle/Sami scenes. It was nice to see Maggie but I am so sick of the excuses regarding Mickey. Hogan needs to resolve the Mickey issue one way or anotherThat was a really sore spot with me. I really liked Chelsea/Nick too. They look right together.

Max and Mimi (despite my dislike of FF) are growing on me. I loved Abby finding them and Max and Mimi do work well off each other. I like how they threw Bonnie in at the Pub so she can reunite with her daughter and her scene during the montage when she was pouring booze in with her coffee was great.

I just loved the ending and the ornament hanging. The only issues I had were the Mickey issue, J&M being absent (although they always seem to spend Christmas Eve on their own or broken up it would've been nice to see them  ), and the lack of buildup to the Hope/Chelsea stuff which I was ok with but it would've helped having a scene or two thrown in before hand to buildup to this. I do think Hogan will give us some more with Hope/Chelsea/Billie because he hinted at it in the 2007 previews so, hopefully, that will help the understanding there.

It really was a great episode. Days always has the best Christmas episode and this year it didn't disappoint.

I loved the Belle/Sami scenes

Glad you mentioned this. I've been meaning to post that I really like how Sheffer has moved Sami and Belle into being real sisters in the last couple of months. I really love them together. And Sami talking about how cute Belle's outfit was just seemed very real and sistery to me.

I hate J&J weren't there too, but I was glad to at least see their photo on the mantle at the end.

If I'm not mistaken, it's Christmas Day in Salem, right? This whole pre-emption/delay in episodes has everything screwed up! The Horton thing is usually done on Christmas Eve. Then, the reading of the Christmas story at the hospital is on Christmas Day. I guess they just threw it all together on Christmas Day this year  Whatever... haha

  • Member

Yeah Drew the preemption screwed it up and pushed the show a day back. I would've loved to see this yesterday or on Friday. The Christmas story has changed days so many times. Some years they do it Christmas Eve and some on Christmas day. I guess it doesn't matter

I just hate when they screw up tradition. I like to see the ornament hanging on Christmas Eve and the story on Christmas Day. And when did the story telling become a Horton AND Brady tradition? If I remember correctly, Bo and Roman were the only Bradys that evr made an appearance. I don't seem to recall Caroline or Grandpa Shawn ever being in the hospital. The Bradys tradition is midnight mass. Come on, Hogan, get with the picture ;)

Come On give the guy a break he is new to this show and he is doing all he can to turn it around. The Hortons and The Bradys seem like one big family all these years why bother if Hogan wrote that simple line or two. Hogan is the headwriter, he probably didn't write that, the breakdown writer does that work.

I always love the Christmas episode. In the past, it was such a nice payoff because you got to see character interaction that we never saw during the rest of the year. Now, with the new writing team, we get those interactions throughout the year, but the holidays are still special.

Sami and Lucas... blah! They're growing on me though.

Glad to see Doug and Julie back in Salem. King, you crack me up!

I love Chelsea. I hate Nick.

I hate the growing love I'm developing for Max and Mimi  I want my MABBY and I want it now!

It was a joke. I'm ragging on Hogan for this little thing, poking at what he's been receiving from others since he joined the show. Chill. I know that Hogan doesn't control the daily episodes. I'm well aware of that. If you remember correctly, I was the one correcting others for getting on Reilly for stupid things like dialogue and shirtless men
