ALL: Favorite Performers Week of Dec. 4-8

I really miss having the top 10's and naming our favorite performers of the week in the weekly ballot poll. I sure hope Matt comes back soon. I really miss him, and am really worried about him.

Anyway I thought until he comes back, maybe we could do a weekly thread, and we could talk about the performers on our show or all the shows that we really enjoyed this week. Just as if we would if we nominating them or putting them up for consideration in the Top 10.

My choices this week:

AMC:

Thorsten Kaye has been wonderful as he deals with his past and how it ties to Simone's death. Michael E. Knight's dealing with Simone's death was wonderful too. Both of them deserve kudos this week. And Alicia Minshew and Alexa Havins had been superb. All the girls of Fusion have (weak one being the girl who plays Erin) but Alicia and Alexa have just really shown bright.

ATWT:

To me the highlights of performers this week were Marie Wilson, Roger Howarth (just barely) and Maura West. Colleen Zenk Pinter and Kathleen Widdoes were both wonderful too.

B&B

The weeks kudos go to Susan Flannery and Betty White. Both were superb this week. As I said in the Random Thoughts thread this week, I felt that the Emmy race was basically a 2 way run this year with Kristian Alfonso and Kim Zimmer, but these last few weeks Susan Flannery has put the steam back on. I fully believe she or Nancy Lee Grahn are the front runners now. I think Susan after this week really has the edge. She is marvelous and I think we will see another Emmy on her mantle. esp when you add this week to the cancer storyline stuff.

Days

Kudos for the week go to Stephen Nichols. Even though I have not enjoyed the story so far, I am constantly impressed with him as an actor. And Friday he tore it up as he struggled with regaining his memories. He to me gave his best performance since returning to Days on Friday's show. He to me stole the show from everyone on Friday.

GH

The week really belongs to Nancy Grahn and Julie Berman for me. I have been mad at the character of Lulu alot this week, but she continues to shine as a performer. Nancy Grahn just continues to show other performers how to do it - even with the smallest of scenes. I think with this cancer storyline and the Samantha stuff, she has put herself in the 4 way run for Best Actress this year.

GL

I continue to be impressed with Crystal Chappell as she deals with this rape storyline. She has just been superb. Also kudos this week to Ron Raines and Justin Deas who both have been great even in small scenes. Ron Raines was esp. good today in his confrontations with Jonathan and Lizzie.

OLTL

I didn't watch but parts of 3 shows this week. Of what I watched I have to give kudos to Kassie DePaiva and Kristen Alderson. Both are superb as they continue to struggle with the court case, and the Marty/Todd stuff.

Passions

I have not gotten to watch any of the shows yet that I have on tape. I will watch them later, and try to add any that I want to mention in here later.

Y&R

Kudos go to Peter Bergman this week. He was so good as he dealt with his anger over trying to keep all of his lies straight with Victor and all. And then his anger over Gloria using the Abbott name. Also have to give kudos to Judith Chapman who was esp. superb on Friday dealing with the possibility of losing the right to use the Abbott name. Her scenes with Jess Walton were superb. I don't like Gloria but Judith Chapman sure has the acting chops and she shows them very often. Also kudos to Victoria Rowell, Jeanne Cooper, Jess Walton, and Bryton who have all given wonderful performances this week. They are all consumate professionals who can be counted on to deliver the goods.

As to Best Show this week, I feel like overall the Best and Most consistent show of the week was B&B with Y&R close behind. But the Friday episodes for GL, Y&R, and DAys were superb as well as the Thursday episode for AMC and deserve special recognition.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Definitely B&B for Best Show.

Betty White/Nancy Lee Grahn/Victoria Rowell for best actresses.

Peter Bergman and John McCook for best actors.

I loved that *too brief* confrontation between Gloria and Ashley. Superb!

Agree with those very much (don't watch the other shows). I am totally impressed by Grahn and Berman, the Winters and Abbot families were very engaging, and Stephen Nichols is making me squee in so many ways.

I hope Matt is ok too!

Anyway...here are my picks:

AMC:

I think Alicia Minshew and Alexa Havins have been great all week dealing with Simone's death. Tanisha Lynn has also been good, but she's of course not the main character to be shown - even though I was pleasantly surprised to see her get a day full of scenes with Josh where she did a great job. Also, Cady McClain has been amazing in her scenes - especially Friday with JR and Adam.

For the men - I'd say Thorsten Kaye has been great, but Michael E. Knight's emotional goodbye scene with Simone were great.

ATWT:

This show has just been background noise for me most of this week. I'm just so bored, but do keep it on in case something exciting happens. With that, I'd say definitely Marie Wilson was the shining star this week!

GH:

This show still manages to capture my attention even with Laura gone. I've been loving Nancy Lee Grahn's performances. She has broken my heart and I feel for her. That scene where she tried getting on her wig, then laughed, and then broke down was amazing. (I think that was this week....lol). Anyway she was the star for me.

DAYS:

Not much to say other than Stephen Nichols was great! He deserves the recognition.

OLTL:

I can't stand this show - the storylines are horrible - and the direction/future of this show is not promising at all. But from what I've managed to stomach - I'd definitely say Kassie DePaiva has been great with her material.

I didn't see any of the other shows. Love the idea Steve - hopefully we can keep this up until Matt comes back!

AMC

Male: Thorsten Kaye & Micheal E. Knight

Female: Alicia Minshew{her silent cry is soooooo great imo} & Tanisha Lynn

GH

None of the males really stood up

Nancy Lee Grahn was awesome in that scene where Alexis broke down after putting the wig on :(

AMC

Male: Thorsten Kaye-he's been phenomenal all week, and the scenes with Zach & Tad and Zach & Zarf were just great

Michael E. Knight is tied for the scenes with Tad with Simone's body

Female: Alicia Minshew-she too has been phenomenal, her silent cry gets to me every time.

ATWT

Male: Roger Howarth-he was amazing in the scene where Meg called off the wedding

Female: Marie Wilson-same as above her and Roger were amazing in the scenes where Meg called off the wedding.
