IA Keith. No need for a triangle yet. Maybe in the distant future, but not now or next month. Their big storyline is just about to start anyways.

She wasn'r possessed. They suspected she might be and went through the proper procedure. There was no demon.

And Drew, totally disagree with you about S/K. When they've been together again for a while, okay, but they have enough obstacles right now. A triangle would sweep those under the rug and destroy loads of potential.

Wrong. Father Jansen caused Marlena to become possessed again to see if she'd been possessed while committing the murders. If Marlena had been possessed at the time of the murders, the new demon that Jansen put in her would have battled the current demon within her, killing Marlena in the process. Because Marlena didn't die, it proved there was no demon in her except for the one Jansen put inside her. So she WAS possessed again, just briefly.

Whatever. I guess I didn't count because the demon was forced in her. Man, Reilly is one screwed up mo fo.

I count it as possession bc the devil really was in her (the eyes, the voice, the supernatural powers, the desire to murder Belle).

5. Above all, first and foremost, NO serial killer plotlines. Once was enough.

I was watching those clips Andre made of the serial killer storyline, and I kept thinking, Hogan would be GREAT at doing a serial killer story. But after all the crap that it ended with, I completely agree....never again. It's just a little hard to take death seriously on DAYS anymore.....

All he needs to do is:

-keep the character interactions we have been seeing going.

-focus on the supercouples being together for the time being since they all have been through hell.

-No triangles or quads with the supercouples for a long time and, when one is done, there should only be one on the show going at a time not like JER who had like 4-5.

-no serial killer stories for a long time as it took forever to recover from the island mess.

-a little camp is ok but leave the sci-fi behind. It is ok to be a little out there like 80's Days but no possession, microchips, or anything like that. The show needs realism right now more then ever.

-don't be afraid to take risks and don't cave into the fanbases too much. He needs to tell a story and see where it goes and not worry about the couple fanbases not liking their couple apart and so on.

-good balance of characters and airtime.

-stay true to history and character driven stories a must.

-keep the family element alive.

-not too many newbies. Bringing back past characters is a good idea right now given the cuts.

-bring Matt Ashford back ASAP and possibly even CC once ratings get to where they need to be (more likely Matt returns though).

-don't force characters or new characters we don't care about down out throats (a la Patrick).

-stories romance, adventure, mystery, fun, etc are what is needed.

I don't want to go on and on so I will sum this up by saying if the show keeps on the track it is going on right now I will be happy.

Couldn't have said it better myself, Phoenix.

The direction the show is headed in right now makes me really happy about DAYS' future.

I'll tell you from what I have seen since I started back watching on Thursday of last week - if he just continued with things on the pace of what they are now, I would be a happy camper. This right now is better than Days has been in quite some time. And I really enjoyed JER from December 2005 to about Mar 2006.

I am really enjoying the last few weeks of the 2 quads, and really enjoying all of the Bo/Hope stuff (but could do without Patrick). And I really like Chelsea alot. And just love having John and Marlena back. I just love what Days is doing.

The only thing that I wish at this point is that Christie Clark could stay. I have just loved the sisterly scenes these past few days. I am really going to miss her - probably more than any of the ones who have been let go.

Shawn and Belle are played out. The classic SHELLE was only great because it was cute seeing teenagers Jason Cook and Kirsten Storms grow up on screen. It ain't cute anymore. Madison and hopefully Beemer are more mature and the teenbop romance needs to be cut forever. Just keep them as friends. The couple is to contrived.

Amen to this post. Days has wasted over six years with this couple. It doesn't work!

Three out of four of this quad is leaving. I see no reason for Shawn to be re-cast period! All the writers would have to do is write Shawn out to see the world and maybe return at a later date. Belle could also leave and work at Basic Black overseas. Viewers need a break from this quad from hell.

I also want a good resolution to the Bo and Hope story. Maybe Bo should have to learn to accept Patrick's spawn since Hope has had to deal with Chelsea. Then we'll see how strong the Brady marriage really is.

I totally disagree about writing off Belle and Shawn. That is the biggest mistake any show can make is when they write off their legacy characters. Days would really be hurting themselves badly as far as family goes if they did this. Shawn and Belle are both children of 2 super couples, and are needed in town.

Maybe some are tired of Shelle and maybe they will get a break. But there are some who do enjoy the couple and want a reconciliation. I don't have any particular feeling one way or the other. I do know that right now I am enjoying the story alot. But I do feel that writing both of them out would be a big mistake. Bo and Hope would not be left with a child of their own on the show, and neither would John & Marlena - thus you would have the breakdown of 2 super couple families.

"3. Have Kate pay for her crimes. I wouldn't be above killing the character because there would be at least 20 suspects in her death.

Why all the hate for Kate? You know the minute the board reported that Lauren Koslow was fired, this place would be in an uproar. She is the character on the show that fans love to hate. She is a great character to have on the show. With Reilly at the helms, she is nothing more than a meddling mother, but when you have a genius writer like Hogan, I think Kate can become a top-notch character."

I guess I should clarify... IF Lauren chose to leave the show. I gotta agree with you that Lauren plays Kate so well, but if she should be one of those cut then have her go out in a blaze of glory.

As one of the few who totally detested every last bit of the SSK plot, I guess I come from an angle that stories like this should never be played out on Days again. It did create some excitement, but it left behind some long-term damage that the show took long to recover from and it isn't worth the risk. Now a single whodunnit? That's a different story.

We are kindred spirits when it comes to the SSK story arc, the storyline that almost destroyed Days, IMO.

My thoughts.

-Continue with the defining of the characters. They now seem more well-rounded. Even though Sami should still get busted, maybe this is the time she will learn, and that's what I want to see. Characters pay for what they do, in a timely fashion.

-This, as many know, has been a pet peeve of mine for years, so I'll say it once again. Either make John's character Roman Brady, bring back Wayne to play it, or write off Josh. I loved him as Chris, but he has not, or ever will be, Roman Brady to me. Also, if HS won't do this, finally give John a solid past once and for all.

-Use the early-to-mid 89s music.

-If a couple must break up, no more scheming outside influences. Keep Billie as a good friend to Steve, but stop with her always going after someone's man. Steve is Kayla's husband, and I for one have waited 15 years for this story to play out.

-On-location shoots. Days was the king of this once, and could be again.

-Family and character history must be respected. No more having characters acting in a manner that makes no sense, and will just turn off the audience.

-Much more interaction between characters. It really is nice seeing everyone finally become a community again. No more with people only interacting with those in their story arc.

-MAKE THE DAMN DAYS CHANGE FASTER! STOP WITH ONE DAY LASTING A YEAR AND A HALF!

And, even when HS takes chances, give the fans what they want in the end, and if not, have a excellent substitute. Everything doesn't always have to work out, but just let it make sense.

PS: Keep Shawn and Belle apart for a while. Have them slowly get back together, but give them a break from each other. Let them interact with their families.

Actually for some time I would like to see Shawn and Belle apart WITHOUT anyone interfereing, I think for just a little bit there should be no one messing with their lives, it happens too often.

Like no Shimi, no Phelle just Shawn and Belle single and apart from each other.

Now that you mention it, THAT would be great. Has there been a good whodunnit on DAYS since the Killing Pool?
