Y&R: NuBilly

Didn't see a thread on this, so what do you think of the latest incarnation of the diva Jill Abbott's son? Was third time the trick like it was for Sharon and Daniel(teen version)? So far I just don't know, he reminds me of AshBash with the constant scrowl on his face. Hopefully the actor will realize that being connected to the likes of Y&R's best characters should mean good stuff; and eventually wake up for the ride. He's not terribly bad, but he is a step up from the twinky version that was Ryan Brown.

Thoughts???

I won't be able to tell until John's story is over and we get to see him do his own thing. With him grieving, it's hard to tell how he'll end up playing Billy. Hopefully it works out okay.,

I agree with Chris B. I am not overly enthusiastic about NuBilly but he was just sorta thrown into the show... usually new actors don't have to play a storyline like the one with John. So it will be interesting to see how he is once all that is over.

I'm already biased, since I prefer David Tom. But, my take is so far, and he's only been in a few episodes and his character is in mourning at that, but just based on that, the dude has like one facial expression and he looks... he's just a strange looking kid, but that's just my opinion. He kinda reminds me of Grant Aleksander. Not his talent, of course. LOL! His look.

I agree with you on the strangeness though he resembles a young Peter Bergman to me, without the huge talent of course.

Nay.

This kid has no expression WHATSOEVER. Keeps the same face throughout the whole episode and I hate that. Although I do understand that it's John's death and all, but come on.

We gotta give the kid a break -- how would you like your first epis to be on the shows where your father is dying??!! (It makes it worse in that all the long-time cast members are there, too. I mean, he met Glo for the first time!) Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope he's a keeper.

So far, I don't have instant dislike... so he's already a step above most recast to me; and I already like him more than the person before him. At the moment, I would say he's doing an okay job with just being thrown into the storyline. But like others, I won't know if I really like or hate him until he gets more into a storyline for him.

He's not that bad but not that good either. My favorite Billy was Ryan Brown (I was not a fan of Tom's). I give this nuBilly some time before saying yay or nay.

I haven't seen much of him so far but I always think of a walking stick when I see him. A good-looking one (teddy-bear) that is. In defense of the actor one must admit that he was thrown in at the most impossible time to introduce himself and to show his acting chops. I therefore will gladly give him more time, also because I can see him very much as Jill's son. :)

I was never crazy about the Billy's till date (character-wise) and even David Tom rarely struck me as that irreplacable in the role so maybe Y&R finally got it right?

I liked David Tom. Ryan Brown wasn't bad, but he just wasn't Billy. The newbie is meh to me right now. Not horrible but not great either. I'll give him time. He looks the part, and once they give him more to do, hopefully he steps it up.

The big NAY to this choice. Casting should have done better.

I am willing to give Scott Seymour some more time but if he doesn't improve, I shall have to say nay. He has the same unchanging expression throughout his short time here on the show. When he was in the Abbott living room in Tuesday's episode he was hardly given any lines and was pretty much ignored. It was as if he wasn't there. Not good.
