Being on dial-up, I'll probably never get the chance to really use this thing, not anytime soon at least, but I'm really liking the set-up. I like how they aren't talking down to soap fans and acting as if we don't know anything about the genre we love. I love the description for "Texas" in the margin: "Iris Carrington Starts a New Life in Texas." SOAP FANS know who Iris is even if others don't and whoever wrote that was clearly trying to appeal to soap fans. None of that "A soap set around citizens of Houston" crap. It's Iris, darn it! The fans know who she is and that's all that matters.

I got the high quality AW episode in 15 minutes. Not bad for 400+ MB. There were no end credits for this AW episode but the Texas episode has end credits!! Too bad we don't know the original dates. :(

Well, "Texas" premiered on August 4, 1980 (25 years ago this month). Considering that the 1st 15 episodes of the series are posted, you can pretty much figure out the dates there. While I haven't watched the full earliest AW ep posted, if Iris left Bay City at the end of it to fly to Houston (and off to "Texas" when she arrived at the beginning), then you can guestimate that the earliest episode of AW posted is from that same day (8/4/80) since AW aired immediately before Texas and then go from there.

Very glad to see there is a way to download them! I, of course can't, but if others do they'll be ways to get them! I tried watching the pilot for Texas and it's sick how slow it is for me, lol. The whole thing loads perfectly, then when it plays it just shows a picture of the person talking, occasionally moving at the correct pace! Ugh! :D

So Matt, you mention consecutive episodes, do you guys think they'll end up showing the entire series of Texas? It looks like a fairly easy one to collect on DVD since it only ran for three years.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that PGP eventually decides to release their soaps on DVD, hopefully for a show like Texas, with consecutive episodes. Maybe they could do the boxsets showing complete episodes from the beginning to end of a big storyline. Whatever it is and no matter how overpriced I WILL BE BUYING!! :D

Woooohoooo! :D

Did a quick scan of the EON portion. One page of episodes, numbered 6051-6059. There are no descriptions so no idea what time frame that represents or what the epsiodes are about. In 6051 I recognized Denny Albee, talking to a character named Paige about another character named Tobias (if that clues anybody in to the time frame!). 6059 shows a maid holding a knife and looking into a mirror. I checked out the end credits...I didn't see a year come up. Kim Hunter was also on. Anybody know when these were aired?

Another World is also one page, #4081-4089. In 4081 there was a character named Dunlap played by the actor who was Eddie Dorrance on AMC. A wedding is going on..Russ Matthews and someone named Tracy.

Thanks!

I read at WOST that those eppy's are from 1980.

Thanks, Matt! I dug a little into that EON site and in the Storylines section I saw "Nola hired a new maid named Louise, who's keeping an extremely large knife in her dresser." It's from July, 1979.

I have Windows Media Recorder and that let's you record streamed videos.

I haven't tried yet with these episodes though.
