August 15, 200619 yr Member In Cady McClain's latest journal entry, she discusses Zendall and their fans. I think she is right on...and hilarious with her pleas to the fans at the luncheon. This makes me love Cady 100% again... Read: "I KNOW there are HUGE Zach and Kendall fans out there and that’s great. THERE SHOULD BE!! They are a wonderfully fun couple of actors to watch. It is a storyline filled with relatable pathos and obstacles, and I like watching it, too! So when we get to the AMC fan club luncheon, can you Zendall fans PLEASE not come after me with your vitriol and fury? PLEASE? I’m frightened! It’s SUPPOSED to make you crazy that these two kooky kids are torn apart and got back together by circumstance and their own folly, but most importantly let us all remember, IT’S FICTION!!! We’re PRETENDING!!! IT’S A STORY!!! DON’T THROW THINGS AT ME!! I BRUISE EASILY!! I love that you guys get so involved in the story…IT’S GREAT! It’s a fun story!! Just remember…we are here to entertain, so be gentle with us clowns…for tomorrow, we will have another five thousand lines to memorize, and more children to lose, and another divorce to go through, and siblings to discover, and marriages to attend, and secrets to keep, and on and on and so it goes." ----Cady McClain, from cadysconfessions.com
August 15, 200619 yr Member Still not a fan of Cady or her lackluster portrayal of Dixie this time around. ETA: I do feel sorry for her if she is getting threatening fan mails, that's not cool.
August 15, 200619 yr Member Cady is too funny but if she wasn't already receiving threats in the mail, she probably wouldn't need to do this. That makes me sad.
August 15, 200619 yr Author Member ^^Exactly - I'm guessing she's been getting LOTS of hate mail from Zendall fans. Zendall fans need to direct that hate to the writers - and NOT the actress portraying a character that has been written for her.

Zendall fans need to direct that hate to the writers - and NOT the actress portraying a character that has been written for her. Yeah but that is how a lot fanbases are. They direct their hatred to the actors and actresses and not the writers. It has been that way for years.
August 15, 200619 yr Member I think she should have gone to a fan event first, before throwing stones and generalizing a fanbase like that. I'm guessing the dislike for Dixie and Cady, and unfortunately every fanbase (including T/D's) has a few who'll cross a good bit over the line, pumped up in the last month or so with her being so dang D/Z/K happy. I'm sure none of those fans, many T/D fans among them, paid good money to go there and chase her or anybody else (Vincent during the first go around there of D/D) around with a hammer. Every actor has to go through an unpopular phase when there's a bad writer writing your character badly - it does rub of on the reaction an actor gets somewhat. And although it can sometimes cross the line, the worst generally gotten at events like this I would think is just polite applause when introduced instead of huge applause.
August 15, 200619 yr Member Yes, I could watch it all afternoon myself, lol. I'm a big ole T/D whore at heart, but this cold-hearted, minipulative Dixie does absolutely zero for me.
August 15, 200619 yr Member Well said Rugrat, agree all the way. I will say though that, Cady is bringing alot of this on herself. Taunting Zendall fans and whatnot. Honestly what reaction did she expect? I in NO WAY agree with threatening actors or anything, but I do agree that she's generalizing a fanbase, and is throwing stones
August 15, 200619 yr Member Sometimes there are instances where you really wonder if maybe TPTB are right to look at soap fans as being less than intelligent. Threatening e-mails, cries of "rape me Todd", "rape me Luke" etc. It's really sad. I do have to disagree with Cady that this is a fun story though. Actually Cady it was fun the first time I saw it on a soap, in the SEVENTIES. And it actually made logical sense that time too!
August 15, 200619 yr Member I think it is pretty disturbing that she has to ask a fanbase not to be mean to her. Some Zendall fans, not all, need serious help if they can't separate fiction from reality. I just don't get why some people are cruel and rude to the actor. They are just doing their job. It is giving the fanbase a horrible reputation. Some people really need to gain perspective on what is important in life. I used to be fairly indifferent to Zendall even though I don't like Zach. This makes me want to see them break-up. And the sooner the better.
August 15, 200619 yr Member I think what alot if is, is stuff that Cady has said in soap mags recently, basically giving Zendall fans a big FU, plus she disses Kendall on top of that. Also a certain blind item about Cady basically saying that she has demanded to work with Thorsten(which I don't believe, but some do), hasn't helped either. Cady has rubbed alot of people the wrong way(myself included)
August 15, 200619 yr Member I don't care what Cady has said in the past, in her blogs, or on the web. There is absolutely no justification for being aggressive or abusive to anyone IMHO. She is an actress but she is entitled to her opinion also. If she likes working with TK, then that is her right. But for a fanbase to bash her, the actress, not the character is pretty sickening. Some of the stuff I have read on the web is down right disgraceful. If she is worried about the luncheon, then I assume that she has had some negative experience with some of the Zendall fans. If someone is that obsessed with the show, then maybe they need some therapy.
August 15, 200619 yr Member Zendall fans have a right to be pissed at Cady's own actions. Not what's on screen in a ficticious show, but Cady's personal own words in real life. This probably doesn't help either, she just comes across as classless.
