AMC: Cady's plea to Zendall fans

Give me a break. Like this rabid fury of fan support is new? If it wasn't Zendall, it would be Jabe fans wanting to burn Cady at the stake if Dixie didn't want JR to stay with Babe and tried to tear them apart. Or it would be T&D fans wanting to boil Thorsten in a vat of fat if Zach was the one crushing on Dixie instead of the other way around.

No single fan base is more or less stable than the others. I'm a Zendall fan, through and through. I see them together for the long haul if THEY JUST HAD A CHANCE TO ESTABLISH THEIR RELATIONSHIP! But I'm a student of the performing arts, first. So I know that an actress -- in most cases -- isn't responsible for a character she's playing that's written by 12 other people a month before she gets the script.

But I can't just turn a blind eye and ignore the fact that it's been published in TOO MANY places that Cady's been vocal about wanting to and enjoys working with Thorsten Kaye -- and that TPTB consider Cady and her version of Dixie a draw, so they will do their best to accomodate her -- especially if it means McTavish's wet dream of Rendall part 342 has a chance.

I just don't understand why Cady should be attacked for expressing her opinions. If she really likes working with Tk, why can't she say that? Why is her opinion less valid than anyone elses. I don't care for Zach but I don't verbally assault the actor who portrays him. I don't think less of those who watch the show that like him. I don't like Kendall with Zach but I don't crucify those that do. I can disagree with someone but I don't have to attack them to get the point across.

I just think that some fans get out of control and things get out of hand. I agree that a few other fanbases have the same problem but I have just really noticed it from some of the Zendall fans (again, not all of them). Sadly, it makes me lose respect for the the fanbase as a whole.

Cady's a !@#$%^&*], but I love her off-screen. I wish every soap actor were as honest as her. That said, Dixie needs to shut the [!@#$%^&*] up! There's a difference between getting a spine and just being downright arrogant and rude to everyone.

And to be honest with you, Zach and Kendall don't have that much chemistry in my eyes. She sparkled way more with Ethan and her brother, Trey.

I still love Cady and believe everything has gotten misconstrued in terms of her demands and what not but she knows how vocal the Zeendall fan base is, it probably was not a wise decision to get in the face of the Zendall fan base. There is already a common perception out there that she is behind the Zendall turmoil (ture or not) she should just have kept quiet.

I love Cady and Dixie and love Dixie now. You people had Dixie as the goody two shoes and now you hate her because she's got spunk. I'm not going into any more AMC threads where you guys keep constantly putting down Dixie and exagerating things. I hope Dixie !@#$%^&*] slaps Kendall.

I can understand were Cady is coming from in her blog but I as Zendall fan I thought she kind of crossed the line we she singled us out. Every actor has a crazies in their fanbases. It is not just Zendall fans.

The problem with Cady is that for some reason the line between her as an actress and Dixie the character gets blurred somewhat. I think a lot has to do with her blog being making her so public. For expample, she once wrote in her blog about "getting her groove on in the cementary" and then shortly after that we get the blind item about a "fair-hear lasse that what to work with a dark haired lad." It was easy to draw the conculsion that it was Cady wanting to work with TK. Then she is constantly talk about TK in here blog. So you can see how fans would assume she is pushing an agenda.

While I can not blame Cady for wanting to work with TK, I do have a problem is she is demanding things in private so TPTB are change the storyline just to make her happy.

Well said Rugrat, agree all the way.

I will say though that, Cady is bringing alot of this on herself. Taunting Zendall fans and whatnot. Honestly what reaction did she expect?

I in NO WAY agree with threatening actors or anything, but I do agree that she's generalizing a fanbase, and is throwing stones

I agree. I never realized how full of herself she was.

It's unfortunate that some don't realize the definition of fiction but she goads people with her pretentious and self righteous comments.

Why should Cady have to keep quiet on how she feels? If she wants to express her likes/dislikes she is well within her rights. And why should she have to appease a certain group of people? Not everyone cares for Zach or Zendall so her comments didn't bother me in the least. I thought they were very funny and entertaining. It is refreshing to hear someone be upfront about what they think and what is going on with the show.

What is she supposed to write in her blog? What the weather is like? maybe she should do a traffic and weather everyday LOL. She could report on how much make-up they put on everyone! It is her blog and she can write whatever she wants. And whether people agree with it doesn't matter. That is their problem. She should be free to express what she wants without being verbally attacked or harrassed. Hate dixie all you want but leave the actress out of it.

No actor should be threatened because of a character they portray but that being said, I take offense to Zendall fans being singled out as the only ones who actively dislike Dixie. Cady's got several blogs, which means that she is probably active online and thus has access to some of these boards where she would realize that Zendall fans aren't the only ones who don't care for this new version of Dixie. People everywhere are screaming how pathetic and manipulative this Dixie has become so I find it hard to believe that Zendall fans are giving her crap and every other piece of mail is just sunshine and roses and glowing praise about her truly craptastic return. So while some fans do tend to cross the line in their support, branding all Zendall fans as crazies isn't going to help gain her support and it isn't even true!

I think it is pretty disturbing that she has to ask a fanbase not to be mean to her. Some Zendall fans, not all, need serious help if they can't separate fiction from reality. I just don't get why some people are cruel and rude to the actor.

Hasn't it been a foregone conclusion that a LARGE part of the soap opera fanbase (no one on SON, I say), because they watch these characters every day, and watch their lives unfold in real time, go crazy and eventually feel they're REAL people? I know someone who cried the day she found out Mona on AMC died (I believe that's who it was), and, even though it was fictional, phoned EVERYONE back then and said "Mona died," completely hysterical, only for her loved ones to ask, "Who the hell is Mona?" and then they learn it was the Mona from her "stories" and everyone got a good kick out of Craaaaazy Great Aunt Imogine. So really, that's the explanation for that. It's just the crazy contingent of the soap base. :)

I tend to half agree with this. Dixie was never ever a goody two shoes... that was a common persona people labeled with her. I do agree though now she's got spunk and a who the hell cares attitude which I welcome and Cady plays it well (case in point Rosanna Cabot). I understand the hate towards Dixie by some fanbases but I tend to still root for her because a. I love Cady and her acting and B. I am a long time AMC fan and Dixie was always one of my favourite characters through it all and continues to be.

LOL, great story jointstrike!! People do tend to get passionate about soaps and that is fine. i think that is what TIIC want. They want to connect emotionally to the audience. BUT Aunt Imogene didn't go psycho and start verbally attacking the actors or writers of the show. There is a fine line between being a fan of a show or a pairing and completely fanatical about it. Certain fans have been crossing the line.

I agree that the tad/dixie fans among others may not care for Dixie right now. But on the web, most of the posts I see are from Zendall fans. Some of them are very vocal and very rude. It only takes a few to give a whole fanbase a bad rep. And it is getting to that point for me.

I love Dixie. Cady is doing a really great job, imo. I love the way Cady is playing her role. I'm glad they aren't jumping right into a Tad/Dixie reunion. It's too bad that some people are giving Cady a heard time and I hope she ignores it from now on and just plays her part the way she has been.

Just cents I'm going to drop, and then I'll go, lol:

I think she was kinda joking around too. Not that she hasn't gotten some hate mail, I think she was just having fun with the siutation ,and letting the Zendall fans know that sheknows Dixie (not Cady) is stepping on their toes.

Every fanbase has those people how cross the line, EVERY fanbase. It happens. It's just a sad part of all of this. :( But that does not mean that's what a fanbase teaches or encourages. And to brand them all is very wrong IMO.

I'm gonna go off on a personal tanget here, cause this stuff I've been accused of for years, and I hate it.

I'm still considered some kind of "evil !@#$%^&*]" by a lot of people online and I bet you there's some who well read this post and scoff because they've labled myself and my fanbase as the root of all evil. :( I've never once sent any kind of hate mail. Nor will I. But tht doesn't mean that people aren't lead to believe I have and do. Anyone who has ever taken the time to get to know me, knows that I'm one of the most level headed, just don't give a damn about anything AMC but Erica, funny, happy people. But most don't know that, because of stupid labels put on me by other fanbases.

So just be careful when you toss around names at the Zendall fans becaue of this blog. :)

Back to Cady, Zendall and the blog:

Also keep in mind, that actors know what to say to take the heat off of them. And Cady has been in this situation before. I've seen/heard her spin things to make a fanbase appear less then kosher, because Dixie was in hot water. Hey, I'd do it too. I'm just saying, this could be part of that mentatlity too.

Bottom line, it's the risk you take when you express your opinions. When you open you mouth, the words that come out have consequences.

It's called life. She's a grown woman. If she can take the praise and compliments that come with a popular opinion, then she can take the [!@#$%^&*] that comes with an unpopular opinion.
