  1. As usual anything Trump/Kushner is motivated by 2 things greed and money. Kushnar was head of a foundation pushing for an illegal Israeli settlement, something else he "forgot" to include on his security clearance. The guy behind Middle East peace by creating more chaos and war http://www.newsweek.com/jared-kushner-disclosure-form-west-bank-settlements-israel-white-house-729290
  2. As I have said CHINA. Part of the issue here is fiscal also. Nothing in the tax bill is encouraging business to come back to the US, they are not getting penalized or tariffed for moving and keeping facilities overseas and I have to read the bill, but it would not shock me if there were incentives in there for businesses keeping their facilities outside of the US. Businesses also need to go where talent they need is. I am no fan of Apple, Google, etc but you need specialized talent in many areas of these organizations, and we aren't preparing for that and it will be worse with the education cuts in the tax bill. So they will have no choice but to send jobs to places where that talent exists(see the education focus in the Asian countries now). We don't live in an isolationist world and progress doesn't stop.
  3. I'm with you on this. I tend to believe the story is true, but right now there is nothing to back up the claim. And Ross actually should be fired. Just imagine if this story came from a woman or PoC. Their ass would have been grass by now.
  4. Next hot take "She was just joking come on"
  5. Put them on ignore. That same troll in the past claimed he/she was a gay black man which I also don't believe. Just here to cause conflict We used to have some conservatives here ages ago(Max comes to mind) who you could have a reasonable debate with. That doesn't exist anymore.
  6. ^Put the troll on ignore. They are just here to cause discourse. Trust me it's not worth it. They have no opinion.
  7. Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law, called Michael Flynn in December 2016 and told him to call members of the UN Security Council in an effort to stop a vote on a resolution critical of Israeli settlement policy, according to a person who was present in the room when Flynn took the call. https://www.buzzfeed.com/aramroston/it-was-kushner-who-told-flynn-to-make-calls-about-israel-un?utm_term=.qfqBPBZP5#.rtBNZNDZe
  8. looks like they are getting close to charging Netanyahu also http://www.jpost.com/Israel-News/Billionaires-testimony-strengthens-suspicion-of-Netanyahu-reports-say-515714
  9. All I can say is Hillary warned us. And so did Sally Yates. Lesson is LISTEN TO WOMEN ALL THE TIME And I am no Chris Christie fan, but he advised Trump and his team not to bring on Flynn because he believed he was compromised. Kuschner and Bannon didn't take him seriously and then Christie was let go.
  10. Take care of yourself. Hopefully things improve for you
  11. Kuschner is toast and I hope Don Jr also.
  12. Holy crap folks ------- -
  13. This is unbelievable and further shows why Netanyahu despite Trump revealing Israeli intelligence agents/info to the Russians at the meeting in the oval office, is still up Trump's you know what. "Flynn’s indictment and guilty plea for lying to the FBI are partly based on Trump’s effort as president-elect (not yet president) to defeat UN Security Council resolution reaffirming int’l law prohibition against illegal Israeli settlements which constitute a war crime." This is what's likely going to get Kushner. He was the one who brought in Flynn in December for meetings with Kislyak likely due to the info below. https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/michael-flynn-charged-russia_us_5a2163f8e4b03c44072d042c?ncid=engmodushpmg00000004 UN Vote on Israeli settlements https://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/23/world/middleeast/israel-settlements-un-vote.html?_r=1 And the Russians tried to delay the UN vote https://www.timesofisrael.com/russia-we-had-doubts-about-un-draft-tried-to-delay-vote/
  14. So Michael Flynn looks to be pleading to a lesser charge likely meaning he has a plea agreement with Mueller. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-12-01/flynn-to-plead-to-false-statements-in-d-c-court?utm_content=politics&utm_campaign=socialflow-organic&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&cmpid%3D=socialflow-twitter-politics
  15. I can't say what the worst part of all this is. Oh yeah it's that it represents NONE of what Trump campaigned on which was helping the little guy, removing carried interest which is something that should be gone, saving the social safety net, all those things people claimed he was for that led them to vote for them. He's basically rubber stamping every failed GOP policy that hasn't worked in the last 150 years because he doesn't understand or care to understand any of the legislation and his mental state is deteriorating. None of this addresses income inequality. Kansas was a failure, ask people who live in that state, and the entire congress is rubber stamping a tax bill for billionaires? Did 63 million people vote for Trump to reward billionaires? It's why I cringe when I hear this. I was watching The View this morning since I was home, first time in a month, and Megan McCain(who is awful) went on about how this election was about poverty and about how she understands red America because she spends so much time there. So poverty is address by giving billionaires the biggest giveaway in history. For all the complaints about the establishment, this wasn't about rocking it, it was about giving the GOP clearance to rape average citizens. CEO's interviewed have said none of the money corporations are getting back will be reinvested by increasing wages, they will dump the money to shareholders and CEO parachute plans and will still send jobs overseas. Automation is already on track to eliminate another 25 million jobs by 2030, jobs that exist today, as well, and there is no plan to retrain and retool or help those people, especially those in red America Can we be honest for once. This was about one thing. Backlash over a black president. I hope for all those it was worth it. I am a proud liberal and I won't be hurting, nor will my family, we have money set aside and investments(international now) and we are all financially secure but for those most vulnerable, I feel for them. I wish I could do more to help them. Oh and all the cries of overreacting to Fascism. Fascism is the partnering of business and gvmt. Right how the oligarchs in this country are running it. The average everyday American has little voice. Even our freedom to access and use the internet is being taken away as we allow corporations to censor what we can and cannot see.
  16. I apologize if I misread things. I do agree that they will find a male co-host in both instances. that's being realistic. I just personally don't happen to agree it's needed nor do I really believe any of the suggestions really work at this point and that includes Brian Williams. I honestly think Geist would be a better fit, but he was already tried and I guess failed since he landed back with Joe and Mika.
  17. I wasn't speaking of you sorry I apologize. But I have seen a lot of debate on Brian Williams, Bryant Gumbel, etc and not one mention of why are any of them needed. I stand by what I said, Charlie Rose's departure from the CBS morning show is not a loss. Gayle King and Nora O'Donnell IMO are strong enough to carry that show themselves. Today is weak. But I honestly don't think bringing Gumbel back is any kind of solution. I'd take Pauley back in a heartbeat.
  18. Well apparently it runs this board also. I am not a Megyn Kelly fan by any means and I am not sure I agree with you on her (Andy Lack is her biggest cheerleader) but I am perplexed as to why people in this thread are perpetuating this need for some male savior to come in and save the Today Show and CBS this morning. I understand that both networks will be putting men in most likely, but a discussion about why an all female panel should be considered might be nice to see for a change. wow. I don't want to credit him but this is one of the most mature responses I have seen yet. Maybe I am giving him too much credit or maybe I am just in shock
  19. I will ask again. Why does another male host need to replace Lauer or Charlie Rose? Someone explain that to me.
  20. It’s incredibly disturbing. The DNA closedown got a ton of. Criticism here in Chicago because the Rickets own the Chicago Cubs. That move was allegedly due to unionization and I am sure that was part of it but it is a disturbing trend. It’s why we need to support those media entities out there as best as we can and fight Net Neutrality which is.an even bigger danger to this. Some of the best reporting comes from The GuardiAn, Mother Jones, and Vox . Im concerned about the merger and I am sure when the discovery is done we’ll find out it was the push by the White House, not the fact that the merger should have never happened to begin with.
  21. I’m quite perplexed at this search for a new male host. No I don’t think Savannah Gutherie is close to being strong enough, I certainly believe Gayle King and Norah O”Donnell are more than capable of carrying their show. I don’t know what I’d do with Today since I haven’t liked it forever. But I hope they don’t get the idea of Megyn Kelly. Frankly I’d be more apt to try someone like Joy Reid who I think has more personality, can play a tad softer and be hard nose when needed, but they’d never give her that shot. And I don’t think Lack likes her. Not that he’s shown any sound judgement.
  22. Why does the Today show or even the CBS morning show need men to replace Rose and Lauer? And no I am not suggesting Megyn Kelly.
  23. Good for you. Calling is the easiest thing to do. The staffers in DC are used to the calling so they tend to be more polite than those locally. But for the most part they listen and record your concerns. The only way to change anything is to vote. And congressional members can pass this off as out of state protestors, but races all over the country including Oklahoma have shown that not to be the case. I have a friend in Bartlesville Ok who is finally joining the democratic party there due to the energy and Anna Langthon the 25 year old recently elected head of the party there. She's energized a lot of people and under her leadership 4 state races have gone to democrats.
  24. For those who want to come in here and start defending Britain First. This is not just right wing. These folks are KKK level radicals and Neo-Nazi's. Even UKIP has pushed them aside. They were also behind the murder of Jo Cox, the British MP last year, Brendan' s late wife. But hey no one remembers what Neo-Nazi's did in Charlottesville either when they murdered Heather Heyer.
