  1. Romney's team to the defense http://www.boston.com/news/source/2012/07/president_obama_1.html So I guess even if you are still officially in charge, are the majority holder of the company, you bear no culpability in any decisions made. Maybe those Enron guys should have never gone to prison.
  2. What an idiot. This man has to have the worst campaign strategists surrounding him. Who goes into a speech to the NAACP saying this. Now according to his "talkers" he's trying to gain a small part of the African American voters because he knows at least 10 percent of them are against the Affordable Care Act. Apparently if he gets 15% of them he's a shoe in. Where that number comes from no clue.
  3. Granted this is now old news but good old "man of the people" Rick Perry is at it again. Texans much be greatful to have someone ao forward thinking representing them http://thinkprogress.org/health/2012/07/09/512671/texas-wont-implement-obamacare/
  4. I'm not a fan of Condi Rice but I'd like to think like Colin Powell, she has a little more integrity than is warranted in the current political climate.
  5. Are Romney and his contingent including his wife that clueless? Does she really believe Romney or the republican party have some sort of political high ground? The fact is Mitt Romney and team including his wife, forgive me for saying, just come across completely stupid, naive, and clueless. I'm not infatuated with the democrats or Obama but really is this the best the GOP has to offer? It's making John McCains team look like political genius's. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0712/78135.html
  6. Max Not to get overly simplistic, but really what does the GOP have to offer outside of counter attacks. I think a lot of voters bought into Obama in 2008 perhaps for a lot of the same reasons Americans elected Jimmy Carter. Promises of a more "person of the people " and almost anti Washington. I know a lot of the knocks on Obama was his lack of experience in Washington but I think that was also looked at as a positive as it was for Jimmy Carter. A lot of people like me who preferred Hilary Clinton and still do, recognized that you need to understand the politics of Washington to get things done. So with that, what advantage does Romney come with. The GOP continues to hang onto the legacy of Ronald Reagon who's policies would probably be spit upon today by the GOP while the party continues to move further and further to the right. And I am not saying this as an Obama fan. He's been disappointing. And I am not sure he's that likable. He doesn't have the charisma and warmth Bill Cinton had that drew people to him or like it or not the political savvy Reagon did.
  7. You know I don't consider myself a hardcore democrat or republican or really any political party allegiance but why does the GOP continue to make themselves sound like such extremists and radicals or align themselves to groups of people like this. The republican party is a bigger mess than the democrats these days.
  8. Do any of these politicians understand the constitution and our branches of govmt. Yes moron the Supreme Court does get to rule on what is constitutional.
  9. Romney is already yacking on TV about repealing it. I am not surprised at the Medicaid portion getting struck down.
  10. http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-pn-supreme-court-upholds-healthcare-law-as-tax-measure-20120628,0,1121469.story It's been upheld
  11. That 18 to 49 number is pretty amazing. No show on network TV percentage wise has that high a percentage of 18 to 49 viewers. That's 66 percent. Those folks still watch plenty of TV.
  12. But ithe thing is if they don't kill off some fan faves then the impact is not as great. I just i don't think they are going to keep anyone around long enough for the audience to bolt if they kill off someone popular. As things stand now Rick is the only one not dispensable and while I love some of the other cast members, I feel in the context of the show they can be replaced. And at some point as a new leader surfaces, Rick will be the same.
  13. A new chick is what he needs and kid. His wife and son are both pieces of crap.
  14. This is one area I think is a little weak. I think I am supposed to feel Rick has lost it and I am not supposed to root for him because Laurie turned against him, but I think because Laurie seems so cold a character(and I think I blame the casting a tad for this) I feel more for him than I do for her. Right now he's the only leader but I think Michonne is going to change that big time. I do like Andrea and Daryl the most out of all and oddly Carol I think.
  15. I like the show has stayed true to form and has not allowed their audience to dictate keeping characters that might be well received around. its not realistic based on the premise of the show. I figured after the Randall incident and once Rick killed Shane Rick was done at some point. He no longer has the moral compass for the group. Michonne is going to be a good addition. And I do like they are not signing big names. It shows with compelling story you don't need it. (one of my issues with at the Good Wife this year, too much stunt casting causing the show to lose some focus). And I am with most I can't stand Laurie and haven't from day 1. I can't figure out if it's really the character or the actress playing her because she just elicits no sympathy from me and I feel like I am supposed to admire and love her, she was wanted by the 2 leads at the time, she's a mother, and she's pregnant, and tends to be nurturing.I know she's supposed to represent hope and it falls flat for me. Disappointed the season is over, it seems so short, and not looking forward to boring MadMen returning.
  16. I am glad I have stayed spoiler free. This season so far has surpassed my expectations. I was actually shocked they killed off Shane as he and Rick represented the good vs evil but I think this season has shown both good and evil to be fairly ambiguous in some ways. It's ironic and kind of brilliant how they killed off the righteously "good" group member one week in Dale and the righteously "bad" group member in Shane the next.

I actually thought Star held up pretty well on screen. It almost felt to me like Barbara and Joy were egging her on hoping she'd breakdown on screen. There is nothing about The View that sets it above The Talk or any of the trash talk shows on daytime anymore.
  18. Terrible pictures even of Lucci. MEK looks worse weightwise in this pcture than he does on the show. I actually thought he's trimmed down a "tad".
  19. Edward at this point is 105 years old. I happen to think Edward should have died ages ago and Alan should still be on canvas. Another character only killed off for shock value not looking at the long term implications to the show and other characters.
  20. I thought he was more like the "real" Edward David Lewis than John Ingle is. I thought he did an effective job. I think John Ingle is ok but Edward went from a cunning ruthless smart intelligent and yes caring man to the cariacature he is now. Granted a lot of its writing but Jed Allen had the same commanding presence David Lewis did. *shrugs personally I never saw a thing wrong with his edward. But yeah based on the cartoon Edward has become he wasn't a fit.
  21. Edward should have died when David Lewis did. Absolutely no clue at all.
  22. In principle I agree with you but I still think ALan was more the cornerstone than Monica but we can disagree on that. NONE OF THEM SHOULD HAVE DIED. Aside from Edward, In fact they killed off Lila and Anna Lee was so ill I just don't know why when David Lewis died Edward didn't die along with him. I don;t get the logic of keeping Edward and Tracy and throwing Monica and ALan aside, killing off AJ Emily over other characters that IMO are still around and were tons more expendable and that includes some of the other long standing characters that are still around. Oh and on GH their idea of a cornerstone couple are Patrick and Robin. I remember KMc saying that she was told they were the moral cornerstone of the show. No way should a couple that young be the moral cornerstone or tied to each other than long. I find them a completely vapid and dull couple. Even Monica and Alan in their later years had some fire and passion.
  23. I guess I never thought of Monica and Alan as a tentpole couple but I did view Alan as a tentpole character. I think they honestly could have killed off MOnica with no issue with the audience. But Alan had something Monica's character did not have and i love LC that's heart. It wasn't the great writing for Alan it was Stuart Damon's presence and take on the character because Rick Webber who was supposed to I know be the resident good guy, I never gave a crap about. I thought the actor and character were very boring and bland. I never understood the appeal of Monica and Rick ever. I mean Stuart Damon played Prince Charming for gods sake. But I think Alan's death combined with Emily's and the writing off of the rest of the Q's just killed this show in many ways. And no I don't think birining back Skye and having scheming and catfights with Tracy is the way to rejunenate the family. Lila and Emily to a lessor degree and even Alan is what centered the family to a great extent. I don't view JI's Edward any more than a cartoon anymore. I need to find some scenes with David Lewis's Edward and Alan because I thought they were ultra fabulous together and Edwards treatment of Alan in those years so best explains why AJ was treated the way he was. Now why Jason was sainted I have no clue.
  24. Gloria MOnty was sort of like JER to me although much more innovative and groundbreaking. She had a great first run as did JER at Days but second time around it just didn't work I actually preferred(odd as it sounds) Labines GH probably because her writing reminded me a lot of what I loved about AMC. I know a lot of people thought she was too dark but compared to the mob crap the past 10-12 years, her dark storylines for the most part at least had heart. Stone's Aids story, BJ's storyine, I think although not sure she even penned Monica's breast cancer storyline although I could be wrong on that. But she also did light stuff like Eddie Maine, Ned and Lois, L&B Records. And I know Geary hated her version of Luke but that was by far the best writing for his character and to me was an acceptable transition/growth from where the character was in the 80;s I know Geary told Labine then how much he hated the writing for Luke and she told him he could leave if he didn't like it. Too bad he didn't
  25. Blech and that's all I'll say.
