  1. Okay, IMDb shows him playing the role 1964-1982, so is that an error? I know they have many. I'm trying to figure out if I saw him when I watched the first week of shows at the Museum of TV & Radio in NYC (now called The Paley Center).
  2. I've been thinking about it. And it's none of your business, nor is it anyone else's but I just want to satisfy your curiosity so maybe you will not harp on it after this. It's true that I had suspensions from posting 2 times. Both times were for posting off-topic. One time was in the OLTL discussion thread & the actual topic was things P&G did & that is what I posted about, P&G, but the posts were not about OLTL so I was caught in a catch-22. I did my time. The second time was in the daily DAYS topic & I posted that I was going off-topic for about 2 minutes & then I'd be back on the show, which I was. The off-topic content was to tell people about the Google baby yodas thing. For that one single off-topic comment I was suspended & again I did my time. Now you no longer have to be curious. Have a nice day.
  3. Apparently Stephen Schnetzer was not DAYS' only Julie's brother. In this closing credit, '68 I believe it was, with all 3 Olsens - Addie and Ben and Steven - Flip Mark is playing Steven.
  4. Oh, fun, and you would know that they are unreadable because you cannot read something you have on Ignore, which as you said, has been the case for months. You've seen it here first, folks, someone who cannot read what they do not see! Maybe this should be in the Guinness Book of World Records, ya think? Do you remember when they used to smoke on TV & in movies? When did that stop? Was it because of the Surgeon General putting out that first warning message on cigarette packs?
  5. Gosh, I think you're right!
  6. @Paul Raven You asked me once why NBC would want Jake to rape Marley ... Elana Levine. (2020). Her Stories: Daytime Soap Opera & US Television History. Duke University Press
  7. I was just thinking & this is off the wall & half DAYS & half GH but if Ron had been writing for Gloria Monty BITD he wouldn't have called the rape a seduction, no, he would have killed off Luke & immediately brought Tony Geary on as a new character named Myron with short hair, granny glasses, sleeveless sweater vest, Argyle socks & carrying books of poetry & introduce him to Laura.
  8. Lin Bolen, NBC VP picked AW as first for expansion. It was the network's idea, plan, scenario because they had the most to gain - increased ad revenue. Rauch got on board. Lemay got on board. They did not fight against it like Nixon, Bell & Labine did. But it was not their idea. Dan, I don't know why Paul hasn't confirmed this. Maybe because it's true & doesn't need confirmation. But I can tell you're not satisfied with the answer from me. You can easily read a few sentences various place on the web that confirm what I've said. wheeloffortunehistory.fandom.com/wiki/Lin_Bolen https://prabook.com/web/lin.bolen/2161567 https://deadline.com/2018/01/lin-bolen-dies-first-female-vp-of-programming-at-a-network-was-76-1202272021/#! There's 3 sources. There are probably a dozen.
  9. I'm not sure if this is all of this campaign or not. (Telenext: black background with white lettering)
  10. Well, doggone it. I have a picture of the AW men, JFP era, in blue shirts, but when I looked for it all I could find was black shirts.
  11. The most fun article about the strike/s, so far anyway! https://people.com/best-celebrity-signs-wga-and-sag-aftra-strikes-7643202 Abt AMPTP offers from last Friday Studios Offer Streaming Data, Writers’ Room Latitude in New Proposal to WGA (yahoo.com)
  12. I just saw this today. I've been looking for Lynda for months. However, she's not on Medium. Does anyone know where she is? Her Twitter account has nothing in it except automated tweets, a thing that tweets followers gained & lost. And that even stops April 7th. I can't find her by her YouTube account. I can't remember when I last talked to her but at that time she had Covid & had had to have her phone replaced & had been having phone & computer trouble & she just vanished. An email to her did not bounce. I called 2 numbers that are hers & both are out of service. So I googled for an obit. Not one so she's not dead. She moved. Hell's bells, she could be anywhere. Tomorrow I'll reach out to her syndicated column folks. Oh, and I figured out last talk & email - late November. She's not writing on SubStack. I think her last blunder eclipsed the typos. She picked up an old item about Ari Zucker leaving DAYS & thought it was new & published it as news. No sign of her on her FB page. There is a post from someone (not her) on June 22nd that she was not ignoring people but was having FB tech issues. She has vanished.
  13. I hadn't seen this yet & got this in email & have got to see it now for sure. https://soaphub.com/general-hospital/news-gh/ghs-maurice-benard-alicia-coppola-on-when-trauma-leads-to-faith/
  14. Thank you. All I'm finding is what I call "Interesting Credits" which just isn't the same thing as star billing. I appreciate hearing confirmation.
  15. I just now saw this. The plan for expansion didn't come from P&G. Lin Bolen, VP NBC Daytime, spearheaded the expansion to one hour, first with AW & then when it worked, with DAYS & they even looked into it with DOC & did a one hour trial run but did not pursue it ultimately. Once NBC had done it, the other networks copycatted. Didn't come from the shows, or the owners/producers, came from the networks. Elana Levine. (2020). Her Stories: Daytime Soap Opera & US Television History. Duke University Press When Irna moved from P&G to ABC she also became the first person to work for all 3 networks. She had begun with CBS & added NBC, now ABC. Fred Silverman was the second person to work for all 3.
  16. Thank you. This is indeed what I have found to be the case. But I really do appreciate this as a kind of a double check.
  17. There is no way AW would have ever given Mary Page Keller star billing. ... As far as what VW might have thought about it we can look at how she reacted later when JB tried to assert that she was now the star & Wyndham was cool, calm, collected & sure that she was still the star.
  18. An Aussie fan notes that the British & Austrialian soaps cannot match the American marriage rates & suggest the correction that it is actually Sharon Watts etc. not Susan & adds Laurel Potts Thomas Dingle Thomas Sharma, Emmerdale Thanks!
  19. I collect pictures of actors with weird facial expressions. HBS just made the file. Thanks!
  20. Yes, that's what we all thought & one of the things I'm doing is correcting that. Rosemary Prinz on AMC & How to Survive..., early DAYS with Macdonald Carey, Dana Andrews on Bright Promise, Beverlee on Texas, these we know are bonafide star billing. No one has been given such since 1980 Texas. But, people are suggesting others they think they've seen & I'm checking them off my list. They are all turning out to be what I call interesting credits but not star billing, or above-the-title. There's an ATWT closing, for example, where they go through the cast & then last of all, "and Eileen Fulton as Lisa" which is an example of special credit but not at all the same thing as star billing. Thanks again. I'm a Douglas Marland fan, too!
  21. Here, on July 18, page 615 is where I gave the link for the "City Lights" interview & talked about it specifically as well. What @j swift brought part of to this thread today. My question to you is whether you have any favorite Beverlee YouTube videos either AW or TEXAS? Thanks.
  22. My personal favorite Beverlee McKinsey YouTube video. Alex on GL, at the Country Club, where she takes Roger on in front of most of the town. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-s__jfRQjSc
  23. You say "reliquary" & I respond "Red Swan" & an AMC fan trumps us both with "Labidizone".
  24. Currently I watch DAYS & GH & I think both have problems but I think both are worth watching. My first soap to get canceled was AW. I was what we called a Last Gasper, there till the very last intake of breath. I was with GL to the bitter end. Loved ATWT but Chris Goutman effectively ruined the last 2 years for me.
  25. Okay. That's interesting. Thanks. So much for that theory. Dan, Look! In 1964 ABC put Irna on the payroll as a special consultant for its primetime soap PEYTON PLACE. By taking that job, Phillips was the 1st to receive paychecks from shows running on all 3 networks. I knew but I forgot I knew! So funny. My memory is like evil twins. One is laser sharp focus & remembers amazing things. The other is like HUH? What do you want? Leave me alone.
