  1. P&G at EON had an openly gay actor who was a gay porn star before he began acting on EON. One of his names was Dennis Parker. I can't think what his other name is right now. Oh, wait, I'll look it up. Wade something I think. Yes, as a straight actor he was Wade Nichols. He also had a hit record, disco. "Like an Eagle" His character was Dereck Mallory. Farley Granger & Robert Calhoun were open, always to anyone. I think it's odd that Susan Flannery has never come out because she was outed years & years ago by famous author Rita Mae Brown in her memoir Rita Will. She said she had a lot of nerve thinking she could date someone as open as she was/is & be in the closet. Joel Crothers we lost to the damned plague. Also Samuel D. Ratcliffe, writer. The only person that surprised me was William Roerick. David Oliver & Wesley Eure were fired for being gay, AW & DAYS respectively. I think the same NBC purge got them both.
  2. Reading Pete's book, it would be easy to get the idea it was him & Paul together! Not a prob.
  3. Yes, I know I am. I think soap journos knew who was gay & had enough sense not to ask!! 🤔🙄🤨😉🤣🤣🤣
  4. It's my understanding that he was out to everyone at GL & to a wide gay community in either NY or where ever he hung his hat. It was also suggested to me that when people told a tale about how he got some exotic disease on his travels & that's what he died of, that he would not have wanted people to make that up.
  5. Yeah, interesting, that fired breakdown writer says that Hogan did it only to screw with Ken. So, that's just ... weird. I don't even follow why Ken would care at that point. So, enuff said. I really enjoyed today's day of Victor scenes! What are your favorites? My two tops are him stepping over Carly on the ground & porch to get the newspaper & "Did anyone call for a hooker?"
  6. https://clownfishtv.com/hollywood-unions-backpedal-on-agreements-after-massive-backlash/ What the heck is ClownfishTV & what the heck is a Fi-Core actor? There's no such thing!
  7. GL was one of the two soaps where she was only there for one 13-week cycle. They asked her to write stories that she said could not be done & they said they thought a writer like her could make them work. She did not agree. It is said that PFS & GL & RH were simply poor fits between writer & show.
  8. That reminds me of the time when all of a sudden the commercials were louder than the shows. What was said at the time was that it was done for increased ad revenue.
  9. Jane Elliot is also credited until 1982.
  10. Okay, I'm not finding out anything about any supposed fine. Suddenly nobody has anything to say about it. But, I've just been told that Sheffer declared Fi-Core status *after* being fired but before the strike ended in a matter of days. All of the breakdown writers were also fired & none of them were Fi-Core. To get around the illegality of firing striking workers DAYS said it had eliminated the breakdown writer position. They went without it for a time & then said the experiment wasn't working & they hired the breakdowns who had scabbed during the strike. This information comes from one of the fired breakdown writers. Also seen 2 items from Daytime Confidential & an old tweet that referred to the SON article about everyone being fired. I have not found any old tweets from Alan Sarapa talking about the supposed fine. I love that clip & "Did anyone call for a hooker?", those two, my favorites! The good thing about SoapTwitter right now is all the pictures & clips that are being uploaded of Vic/John A. Bonanza!
  11. These are just exactly the reasons I liked the highlights of posts column! But, Errol was using the shortest & quickest route to address a perceived problem. Personally, I think adults are capable of mentally just moving on past a post they don't want to see.
  12. Thank you very much for this information. It bears little to no resemblance to the fanlore on the matter. I think I was informed by Alan Sarapa but I would have to check that to be sure. He is regularly a source of bonafide information. One oddity is that I just checked all the WGA Fi-Core lists I could find here, @Liberty City and @janea4old links & I do not find Hogan Sheffer on any Fi-Core list. Do they perhaps remove deceased members names? That is just grasping. Of course the job protection afforded legally striking writers is only for legally striking writers & no one else! @Liberty City & @janea4old would you please double check me & see if you find Hogan Sheffer listed as Fi-Core status? Thank you.
  13. I was told by someone at the studio at GH that they were picketed last strike just as they have been picketed all along on this strike. At one point he indicated that "crossing the picket line" is no big deal as you're just going to work like any other day but at another point he indicated that things are uglier this strike & it feels more ... unpleasant, and so more stressful. He is neither a writer or a director, of course.
  14. Apparently Ken Corday has an example of firing the HW as soon as the strike was over, himself, Hogan Sheffer out & Dena Higley in, and that was why I said work for 90 days & then fire him, because supposedly the show paid a hefty fine for Corday's firing of Sheffer at the end of the last strike.
  15. Who cares about optics when it would mean a hefty fine for doing it?!! Or, hire a co-EP & maybe Ron's ego would lead him to quit? Other suggestions? Work him 90 days & then fire him. No fine.
  16. I was okay with Kristen & Rachel and also Gabi & Rachel. I was very okay with Maggie, Justin, Brady, John. I was very un-okay with Steph & ... and with Gwen & ... It's just absurd that Leo is there. There's no way Gwen isn't on to them. I don't like Gwen but she's always been sharp, not stupid. Dumbing down is always a bad sign.
  17. Do we know if there's any correlation between Jamey breakdown & David K script?
  18. I just finished watching today's show & I'm really touched. I loved the camera going to the picture while everyone was falling apart. And I appreciated being with Maggie, Justin, John, Brady at the end & not with either of the ... oh weird trios, for lack of a better word for Stephanie & her 2 dweebs or Gwen & the Cheating Hearts. @ranger1rg Yep, that which we would have liked to avoid & that which we desire & cling to.
  19. In the Daytime Emmys, 1981-1982, winning for Best Writing over AMC, OLTL & GH, Douglas Marland accepts on behalf of his writing team by first names including Pete, and thanks among others, 2 from P&G (Schultz & Trach I think) and 2 from CBS, ironically the second name from CBS is Brian Frons, which today makes us cringe, and he acknowledges the honor of being nominated by peers & specifically notes that honor when you are among such as an Agnes Nixon & then he thanks all of the actors & seems to name AW, the 3 ABC soaps & GL & dedicates the award to those actors because they take the writer's words to the audience. Well, that is a paraphrase, but my point is only that as acceptance speeches go it was remarkable, so good, etc. I wonder if the clip shown was their reel. Courtroom scene. Here's the clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaIavruefVE
  20. Well, it might not have been the whole first week, but, no, it was definitely AW & definitely OF the first week.
