  1. What we saw onscreen and rewrites. I used real time for the rewrites. 1991 - Sheila miscarries Scott Sr.'s child. 1997 - Sheila gives birth to Mary Warwick. 2002/2003 - Sheila becomes involved w/ Massimo Marone, supposedly resulting in Diana Marone. 2005/2006 - Sheila becomes involved w/ Tom Fisher, supposedly resulting in twins Daisy and Ryder Fisher. In the timeline, Finn's birth and adoption would either have been before Sheila arrived in Genoa City, or in between Mary and Diana.
  2. Do you think Bradley remembers his father's history of the character?
  3. Re Maureen/Roger, theirs was such a fascinating dynamic. Maureen saw the good qualities in Roger, and while Roger didn't care about what the rest of Springfield thought of him, he cared about what Maureen thought of him. You could see hints of that when Roger and Maureen were trapped together during the blackout and when Roger visited Maureen's grave. Perhaps secretly deep down Roger might have been a little in love with Maureen but I don't think he ever would admit it or act on it. I think having Maureen turn to Roger in the aftermath of learning about the Ed/Lillian affair and Roger helping Maureen and Michelle leave Springfield and start over somewhere else might have played out better than killing off Maureen.
  4. Sheila has been played out since 1998. I swear that character is Bradley's "break glass in case of emergency" device. We saw Sheila pregnant onscreen once on Y&R (Scott Grainger Sr.'s child that was miscarried which lead to the baby switch) and once on B&B (Mary Warwick). Then there was Diana Marone on B&B, and twins Daisy and Ryder Fisher on Y&R. I don't know how old this Finn character is supposed to be but the only explanation I can think of is that Sheila had a child while in nursing school and then placed it for adoption. Maybe the father is John Silva. Remember when Sheila first arrived in Genoa City there were some hints that she and John Silva shared a past but for whatever reason Bill Bell didn't expand on that.
  5. USA Men's Basketball gets Spain in the Quarterfinals and either Australia or Argentina in the Semifinals. The other half of the bracket is France/Italy and Slovenia/Germany. I'm thinking the Gold Medal Game will be USA/Slovenia and the Bronze Medal Game will be Australia/France.
  6. I'm fully vaccinated but I still wear a mask when I go out places. Not taking any chances.
  7. LOL at USA Men's Basketball losing their opening game to France. This NBA C Team thinks they can saunter in and win gold. Newsflash, it's not 1992, the rest of the world has caught up. OTOH, Slovenia Men's Basketball killed it in their Olympic debut vs. Argentina.
  8. Is it possible that Italy's first episode was Melody Thomas Scott's first episode? Italy got to see part of Vanessa's story and also the arrival of Victor. Italy was spared Cricket eating the show (Summer 1986 to the end of 1989), Nick and Sharon eating the show (Fall 1994 to Spring 1996), and the lull (Fall 1996 through first half of 1997).
  9. BTS is the 45th artist and the 11th duo/group to reach 5 #1s on the Billboard Hot 100. BTS is also the 13th artist not from the United States and the first artist from a non-English speaking country to reach 5 #1s on the Billboard Hot 100. The duos/groups with 5 or more #1s on the Billboard Hot 100 as of today: The Beatles (20), The Supremes (12), The Bee Gees (9), The Rolling Stones (8), Wings (6), Hall & Oates (6), The Four Seasons (5), The Eagles (5), KC and the Sunshine Band (5), Boyz II Men (5), BTS (5). Artists not from the United States with 5 or more #1s on the Billboard Hot 100 as of today: The Beatles (20), Rihanna (14), The Bee Gees (9), Elton John (9), The Rolling Stones (8), George Michael (8), Drake (8), Phil Collins (7), Justin Bieber (7), Wings (6), The Weeknd (6), Olivia Newton-John (5), BTS (5).
  10. Two Alexis clones on one show? I once read Santa Barbara described as a dollar store Dynasty.
  11. I haven't seen alot of Brenda Dickson's 1973-1980 run to judge her acting style, but from what I've seen of her 1983-1987 run, she starting getting OTT in her acting style around 1985. It got worse during 1986 and 1987.
  12. Italy seems to be the only non-English speaking country that aired episodes before 1986. Y&R started in Australia in 1974 and in New Zealand in 1977. As far as Canada goes, I know Global started airing Y&R in 1984, and CHCH aired Y&R before that but I don't know the start year.
  13. Y&R episode of Friday December 22, 1989. Bill Bell had Marge watch B&B since it was his other show, but I guess he wasn't thinking ahead to potential crossovers at that time. Was this when Bradley was trying to recast Ridge with Peter Reckell?
  14. Bill Bell forgot about the Y&R scene from December 1989 where Marge was watching B&B. We could hear some dialogue and the B&B theme music.
  15. @Soapsuds Thank you for the link to the 1979 episode. Episodes of the Roger/Holly storylines from 1979 and 1980 are such a treat, as those storylines set in motion so much of what we saw a decade later during the Calhoun era.
  16. So four adult Kyles in the last 8 or 9 years? I lost track of the Kyles after the kid with the Bieber bangs.
  17. I can't remember how long the last renewal is until. At this point I say plan the ending to coincide w/ the 50th anniversary in March 2023.
  18. Which show is worse in your opinion, Capitol or B&B? Capitol served two purposes. CBS needed something young and glamorous to compete with ABC, and it was a time filler until Bill Bell had a second show ready. CBS approached Bill Bell in 1977 for a second show but for whatever reason he didn't have one ready until a decade later. If Bill Bell had a second show ready in 1977, we probably wouldn't have gotten GL expanding to one hour that year. I really think CBS wanted a second Bill Bell show to replace Search for Tomorrow in 1982 but early 1980s Y&R was in transition mode so Bill Bell was probably focused on getting Y&R settled at that time. Even if CBS kept Search for Tomorrow, it would have ended once Bill Bell had a second show ready to go.
  19. I didn't watch GL for very long, Spring 1989 to Summer 1992, but I'm so glad I was able to see that era live as much as school would allow and then online years later.
  20. 1999 - Daytime Emmy Awards - Stuart Damon - YouTube RIP. I'm sure there will be a lot of tributes on social media over the next few days.
  21. Has anyone commented on the Marguerite Ray/Veronica Redd mixup in the In Memoriam segment? Veronica Redd is still alive AFAIK.
  22. CBS probably would've shrunken the game show block to accommodate these new shows. I'm thinking the ET schedule would've changed to: 10-11 am The Price is Right 11 am-Noon New Daytime Dramas Noon-12:30 pm Local News 12:30-1:30 pm Y&R 1:30-2:30 pm As the World Turns 2:30-3 pm Capitol 3-4 pm Guiding Light 4-4:30 pm $25,000 Pyramid
  23. Even if any of these made it to CBS Daytime, they would've been placeholders/time-fillers until Bill Bell had a second show ready.
  24. Fall 1990 to end of 1992 Days was that transition period between the supercouple era and Reilly's sci-fi era. It's one of those periods that's not really talked about much.
  25. Marla Adams winning was the highlight of this sad sack show. Marla is the first winner in either supporting or lead that was over age 80 at the time of their win.
