  1. Another talk show that's destined to only last 2 seasons, just like Meredith Vieira and Katie Couric. P.S. Did Bethenny Frankel ever pay Omarosa the 10K they bet on during B's talk show when Omarosa predicted the show wouldn't last more than a year? Haha...
  2. Barbara sounds promising! I love that, once again, she shares an actual history with the cast. NYC and Potomac are so fortunate to have that continuously going for them. As others have mentioned, I'm more excited about Potomac returning (which we'll have to wait for until next Spring probably) than BH or ATL which is sad, as I used to consider them the 2 biggest heavy hitters of the Housewives series. I don't know what to make of the newbies on ATL or Eva being upped to full-time wife, but I'm not super excited. At least Nene is here for another season and I'm glad she took that time away to let out all the air that had gotten to her head. BH, eh, just make Camille a full-time wife so we can see her sashay across the screen in the opening again.
  3. Damn. I really liked it actually. I was just glad to see Alicia Silverstone in something fun again. Playing catchup on this thread finally. And I'd have to agree this was the only "refreshing" thing about Part 3 of the reunion was Ramona & Sonja's mutual admiration for one another, despite a season where they were nearly pitted against one another. The genuine friendship shined at the end. Same with Sonja/LuAnn and hell, there IS a special friendship/understanding with Ramona/LuAnn despite all their petty ups and downs. At the root of it, they look out for each other. Carole had me and then lost me by downplaying her friendship with Tinsley. I gotta say, despite seeming so much younger than the other cast members, this "youngster" has ended up blending quite well with the ladies, and veterans like Ramona seem to genuinely like her. The big question for Season 11 is just how ugly it will get with Queen Bethenny still calling all the shots behind the scenes. And Dorinda, PLEASE clean up your act. This was such a bad season for you. You were the golden girl for three solid seasons but fell hard this year.
  4. Re: RHONY Reunion... did anyone else catch the comment Ramona made as she was listing off her many business ventures she was handling and how it "caused her marriage to end" or something to that effect?
  5. Saw RHONY Reunion, Part 1. It's like the opposite of ATL (disappointing season; great reunion). RHONY had a banner year, but this reunion has fallen into the toxicity levels of their season 4 reunion before the mass overhaul. It definitely felt hollow without LuAnn there, as she was the driving force of so much of this past year. Seeing Andy prop up Bethenny and halt conversation when the other women called her to task was pathetic. I'm glad Carole calls out Andy next week; another friendship ends due to the show. Other than Dorinda's refusal to own up to her dependence on alcohol and her insistence that LuAnn owes her an apology (she doesn't), I actually didn't mind Ramona, Dorinda, and Carole calling out all of B's antics. It just stinks that EVERYONE spoke at once (shades of S4 reunion). Sonja looked pathetic, being B's lil sidekick (to which Ramona called her a puppydog... I *loved* when Ramona put her hand over Sonja's rambling mouth at one point). Ramona's delivery isn't always the best, but she threw out A LOT of dirt about Bethenny not supporting other women, ruining friendships, not having female friends and all the BTS garbage B pulls on the show. And if Bethenny wants to hold onto a grudge where Ramona called her out on the Brooklyn Bridge way back in 2010, it's only because Ramona's prophesy was correct. I also loved Carole's digs that so much of what Bethenny does is for the cameras and what she does when the cameras are off are two different things. Which is what this report about her time in Puerto Rico echos: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5456121/Bethenny-Frankel-tried-quit-RHONY-feud-Carole-Radziwill.html As much as Season 10 delivered in spades, it sounds like behind-the-scenes have gotten so dark and toxic, with Bethenny serving as an uncredited producer and having so much influence with the show. With Carole gone, it'd be great to have Heather Thomson back (wow, I was always indifferent about her, but you know she'd called out B's bull, even if just for one season). I'm guessing next season we're going back to two-team alliances with Bethenny/LuAnn/Sonja versus everyone else. Hmm... not liking where this is headed. P.S. Is the reunion 2 parts or 3? If Lu were there, it'd for sure be 3.
  6. Something about NYC's season three finale felt like the perfect bow to an outstanding year (Bethenny to Jill: "You have to change a lot and I mean that." Jill: "I am who I am.") plus you had setup for the next year (Jill refusing to have a moment with Alex when Alex came up to her). The big event was Ramona and Mario's vow renewal. I think the worst was that goofyass way they ended season three of New Jersey, with Caroline's family all reading Teresa's cookbook and getting all miffed about her "Olive Garden" remark for set-up to next season's drama (not to mention the season finale, taped mid-way through season 4). All of that was a logistical mess. Camille
  7. Christ! Who's the burned up body? I haven't watched this nonsense since Veronica was pushing that girl onto Jeffrey (P.S. the actress didn't impress me here, but she's great on Dear White People). P.S. Is the dead girl's college professor still jogging around with a knife stuck in his back?
  8. Will sloppy Charrisse attack her usual victim Karen or go after someone else? Perhaps make a mountain of a molehill when Candiace came for her. Karen said something about Gizelle which to me was telling when she remarked, "you've been up Bravo's ass for the past 3 years." I think Karen & Gizelle (like ATL's Kim/Nene/Sheree) were good friends before the fame and notoriety of reality TV came around and all the two-facedness and side digs and rehearsed one-liners came in and chipped away at a genuine friendship. Anyhow, I loved the reunion. I knew Bravo was faking us again with Karen's breakdown. They wanted us to think it was about finances/where she lives/her and Ray's marriage, when it was really all about her parents. Poor thing. This 3rd year of Potomac has been their breakout year and I love it. Like others have mentioned, one goofy thing about it is using "Potomac" as the title when over half of them live in other towns/states. I've never been to the area so I guess it's hard to pinpoint one set area when so many large affluent towns and cities are in close proximity. I would suggest "Real Housewives of Maryland" but some are in Virginia.
  9. +1 for both. Their teasing with Camille's "friend of" appearances last year were not enough. It is too bad that Faye felt the wrath of fans and it scared her off, because she's a great blend of trash-turned-class, successful, bitchy, not afraid to tell the truth pot stirrer this show so desperately needs right now.
  10. Definitely. It looked too staged and Michael isn't a convincing actor. Potomac and NYC have served me everything I've needed from a Housewives show this past year. Kinda sad but appropriate that they're both wrapping up now. I still don't hate Ashley but I'm not stanning for her. At least she doesn't come off as an ugly hater like Gizelle, Robyn, and Charrisse. I finally warmed to Candiace on the season finale episode, ironically. She can stay another season for consistency, now that she built up a little bit of a camaraderie with the vets. Karen's dismissive behavior towards Ashley at the rooftop party (in October! They wrapped filming quite awhile ago in comparison to NYC!) had me rolling. Karen's front she puts up is just funny and entertaining. We can laugh with her instead of at her, unlike Sheree Whitfield. There's creating an illusion, and then there's delusion. Karen is the former; Sheree the latter. OC definitely feels like a chore to watch in comparison. I feel like they're already stuck in a story rut, so something needs to jolt things up and switch it around. Kelly Dodd, I feel like she's made it three seasons by default because the other newbies were dull as dishwater and made no lasting mark. She can be funny and mildly entertaining, but overall she's very sloppy and messy and blurts out horrible remarks without ever thinking first.
  11. Looks juicy!! Is it a 2 part or 3? Those couches look too small. They look cramped. I'm looking forward to seeing Karen/BrokeBillGates vs. Michael. Candiace looks like she's trying hard to come back for another season.
  12. Well, to their credit, when a Guiding Light viewer organized a protest over the show's cancellation, she was the only one who showed up
  13. That was my understanding. Once they switched Ryan's Hope & Loving, it marked the beginning of the end for RH.
  14. Interesting to see how horrible Ryan's Hope was doing 2+ years before its cancellation. Nice to see DAYS up there during their Supercouple era. Surprised to see All My Children at No. 6. Santa Barbara's 4.8 is actually a respectable number, even for then.
  15. I think my favorite moment on yesterday's Potomac was watching Karen school Candiace on how to express her feelings to the group, and then as soon as it got ratchet, Karen says "now you're letting it go left" and then basically tells her something along the lines of, "Okay I helped you set up this meeting but it's up to you to finish this, cuz you're a grown ass woman" and leaves and proceeds to take selfies and enjoy the view. LOL
  16. Caught up on NYC. Bethenny is the worst kinda buzzkill you'd ever want on a vacation. Christ, she tried her damndest to suck the life out of every room she entered. She's so oblivious of her actions, saying she preferred being with Sonja and LuAnn just walking down the streets having fun... that's what all the other women want! To have FUN! God forbid Carole or Dorinda point out the obvious that Bethenny is a moody, sour bundle of negative puss trying to spill over onto everyone. Otherwise, the episode was fun and I'd have to go with Team Carole on the Carole vs. Bethenny feud. Bethenny jumps on the attack, saying Carole is believing the dude with the red scarf over her, but Carole simply mentioned that the dude with the red scarf made it sound like he and B were friends. Simple statement. Ugh, Bethenny, I kept saying to my TV "Just go home!," or in keeping with the Scary Island tradition, "Go to sleep! GO TO SLEEP!" And it really shows what a stuck-up primadonna B's become if even Ramona has no problem with the "grimy" accommodations they're staying at. Pinot Singer even got stuck in an elevator the first day and was nothing but light fun and giggles the entire night. I'm just glad they're showing everyone's distain/annoyance towards The Big B, even though she still had way too many talking head points of view during the episode. On to next week!
  17. POTOMAC: I'm gonna go against the grain here and give props to "little miss Ashley." She puts her mess out there first, which is perfect for this type of atmosphere. There's no mud to sling back at her (minus the Michael-gay-hookups-in-Europe which I still don't know the details about). Yeah, her delivery can be messy and sometimes an obvious way to stir up drama for the cameras, but she isn't telling lies or being an ugly hater like Gizelle. Keep the wheels of drama turnin' Ashley! I gotta admit I was surprised by Robyn's rockin' bod. In clothes and in talking heads, she looks kinda thick and voluptuous but she actually has a tiny, fit lil bod. At least she has the body to balance out her empty head. I equate the ladies' frustrations with Karen as the same as the NYC women used to be about LuAnn and her front for the cameras, of etiquette and manners and "oh darling" and pretending everything was okay with the Count. I wonder if Karen divulges anything to them when the cameras aren't rolling. I'm guessing lil bits 'n pieces without giving the whole story, and then on camera she plays dumb. I have no problem with Monique exposing Charrisse, a la Porsha outing Phaedra as the culprit. Yeah, Candaice lucked out with a free trip to France. She's a Shamea who somehow found herself upgraded to full-time Wife. She's just kinda there.
  18. Better to do it in 10 episode blocks per month. Anything beyond 10, maybe 13, is asking too much in this day and age. Isn't it crazy how many syndicated shows there were back in the 90's? Also a Chicagoan here, and remember Baywatch at 5pm on Saturdays & Sundays, along with other shows on the weekend like Xena and all those shows, Deep Space Nine, and Malibu beachy shows like the one with Rick Springfield, and another with Mario Lopez.
  19. Laurie Metcalf scored a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy for Roseanne. Congrats! I was hoping Sara Gilbert would get a nod too, but at least they weren't completely shut out, especially in this era of non-network shows getting all the nominations.
  20. @DaytimeFan @Cat It's been decided: Cannes it is! But we are totally going to try to hit all those great spots you both mentioned around Nice as our friends will be staying there. Appreciate the great tips from you seasoned travelers Will post photos!
  21. Haven't seen Sunday's show yet, but hubby & I are booking our place this week in Antibes. Nice place? We were also looking at a beautiful seaside view in Cannes but our friends will be staying in Nice so we wanted to be a little bit closer to them.
  22. I definitely remember last season being “Bethenny Frankel and the Housewives” with promo tie-ins and spinoffs and the narrative always being told through her eyes. That’s why I was glad we were “allowed” to see the majority of the women discussing Bethenny a few episodes back. I dont remember S8 being bad. I loved how LuAnn was able to stand tall as the others tried to make her the punching bag. (If I wasn’t on my phone I’d pull up that amazing smirk shot of her at the Berkshire’s when Bethenny was going off on her for “fu.king anything”). I hated Carole and Bethenny shaming Jules’ eating disorder but it reflected on THEM very poorly (it was also ironic, as those two are such bony skeletal figures). Speaking of looks, Ramona’s new glam squad makes her look gorgeous this year! The makeup, the hair, all of it makes her look a good 15 years younger than last year, when she looked so harsh and the 4K high-def cameras made them all look so ragged in the face. I love how both Heather and then Carole used to try to rationalize the crazy and call her out, and then eventually had to succumb to the fact that she’s the OG and her brand of crazy is here to stay.
  23. Thanks @Cat & @DaytimeFan! Much appreciated! I will definitely look these all up as we plan our routes
  24. Agreed 110% (or "a thousand percent!" as Jill Zarin liked to use). Looking back, I just cannot rewatch Season 5 & 6. That's when the show was so irrelevant and it just didn't gel well. I don't miss Kristen, Heather or Aviva. I'm glad they had a whopping eight castmembers in the 7th season, which to me, was the perfect phasing out of the shaky years with the re-energized cast we have nowadays. Side note: Just the sloppy editing of the sixth season's cast shows what a "who gives an eff" attitude the producers must've had. From Aviva disappearing back 'n forth, to Luann suddenly appearing (by accident?) in some of the commercial bumpers, it was such an oddball year. Oh. I noticed. Trifling mess can't even respond for herself. A true puppet. This episode was fun, but it's goofy when the Housewives spend an entire episode playing the "Will I or won't I go? Will she or won't she be invited?" Gurrrrl, these trips are pre-planned and paid by Bravo TV. We know how it works. I am so looking forward to next week's episode because I'm going to France - Paris and Nice - in September (my first trip out of the USA, yay!) and the hubby & I are totally open to suggestions when we're in the south of France. What Housewives seasons stand out like sore thumbs for each franchise? I'd go with the 6th for NYC (and 5th to a lesser extent). For Atlanta, I'd have to go with the Kim Fields season. Was that the same year we had Claudia's one-and-done or was she a year beforehand?
  25. Indeed, and well stated. Side note: Speaking of the character Sandy Swan (a singer), back in my naive day, I was convinced that whoever was doing the vocals for her was the same singer on the radio singing "If You Asked Me To" and "Nothing Broken But My Heart," which of course turned out to be Celine Dion. Suffice it to say, I don't think she lent her voice to this lil show.
