  1. Right? lol I loved the recreation of Solid Gold. I had never even heard of it before but died when I checked out the original on YouTube. God bless the 80's and early 90's... lol
  2. Ashley's new look. Just no. No, no, no. Candiace looks like she's 55 trying to pass herself off as 30 even though she IS 30. Way too much paint on that face.
  3. Yeah, that struck me odd too, especially when Dorinda and Sonja continued to press about it even after Tinsley explained that her trust "allowance" was temporarily reduced after her arrest. We *get* that Tinsley comes from old money. Why question how she's paying for expensive bags and dresses? It's kinda a no brainer and I'm not even in her social circle. It's also a little strange they'd allow to "break for fourth wall" in terms of Tinsley's living arrangement. Clearly, her living with Sonja was a temporary situation done for the sake of filming the show in her first season. Since then, she's been living in a hotel, and now she just signed a one-year lease (translation: she'll be on next season's RHONY). Otherwise, it sounds like she's in Florida. Unless Bethenny is trying to nudge her off the show now too, why bring it up at the reunion on camera? Interesting tidbit from Carole about the whole ordeal with her staying with Tinsley instead of Bethenny at the Hamptons at the behest of Bravo producers. Ditto the part about not having spoken with Tinsley since they wrapped filming. It makes her snub of Tinsley at last year's reunion make more sense. I guess that's the one downside of NYC: The 5 veterans (I'm counting Dorinda as one now) have such a real history and most have real friendships (though Bethenny's is purely strategic for the show), that when the show brings in an outsider, it's hard for them to genuinely connect.
  4. Meanwhile, what is UP with Katie's appearance? She looks like she went to a costume store to play undercover witness protection with her bad wig and huge glasses. My hubby, a psychotherapist with expertise in handling substance abusers, thinks she was high the entire episode. Agreed that Monique is the sanest, most rational of all the women. Candaice's temper tantrums have grown old, and her lack of maturity really stands out. Well, I *guess* I can give Robyn props for recognizing that Gizelle was the instigator of this whole penis-gate mess. And I *guess* I can give Gizelle props for owning up to it. But meh... And the Academy Award for most stoic performance when all the [!@#$%^&*] is hitting the fan goes to Ashley Darby! Clink-clink!
  5. Aw, Salem Place... The only soap with a permanent outdoor set. DAYS would use the hell outta that lot during the 90's/early 00's, including a *real life* outdoor park bench! lol It was across the street from the Salem Place set.
  6. If Bravo had any balls, they'd take that final moment with the 5 (or was it 6? Denise is nice, but kinda just there) as a sendoff for THEM, and rebuild the show around existing OG's LVP and Camille. Bring on Dame Joan, Nicolette, hell bring back Adrienne or Taylor or Joyce for a familiar face and give RHOBH a much needed reboot. I have a feeling this type of mass overhaul would find much more success than NYC's Season 5 shake-up.
  7. RHOBH: That 6-month flash-forward was so contrived and awkward. First of all, they mention LVP opening her new restaurant in Vegas a couple weeks prior, meaning this was filmed mid-April, and the show began airing in February. You could totally tell this was a mini reunion for most, having not spent time together since they wrapped filming. Such genuine friendships they've forged. All they could do is chit-chat about inane highschool crap like Rinna seeing LVP in a parking lot looking for spare change in her purse. And the vultures cackled. Really? This was their way of trying to save face and paint themselves in a better light? This table trash talk summed up the entire rotten season. I'm glad we got the LVP/Camille scene in Vegas, even if only as a flashback. It helped solidify how important these two women are to the series. Listen, Camille wasn't always 100% in the right, but considering who she was coming after, it all felt justified. The fact that Dorit is off the hook for the puppygate fiasco is ridiculous, and I'm glad Camille still calls her out on it (amongst other things, namely their crumbling house of financial entanglements). I loved Camille brushing off non-factor Teddi and sass-mouthing Miss "Own It" Rinna. Kyle/Rinna/Erika/Teddi/Dorit look like idiots with nothing to talk about other than people who aren't at the table. Teddi is the biggest poser, coming into the series as a no-nonsense jock who didn't care about glam, and her second year is a total Gretchen Wieners to Kyle's Regina George. On her own, Teddi is a dull loser that shouldn't return another season. Dorit and her sanctimonious crap can go eat a dick. Erika is as over the show as we are of her. Rinna, though I always will have a soft spot for her, really has nine lives when it comes to this show. After her successful first season, she let it all go to her head with all the gossiping, fake amnesia, and accusations towards others, and yet she somehow manages to come out smelling like a rose to the rest of the pack. RHOBH is actually making me kinda look forward to New Jersey returning and I've basically been over that one for years (thank God for Margaret!). NYC and Potomac are top dogs that deliver.
  8. Agreed. My No. 1 choice is Kamala, 2nd is Warren.
  9. My only cringe issue with Bethenny mentioning Dennis is that in the meantime, she's already cozied up to yet another man. And according to the season finale write-ups, just bought a townhouse in Boston with the new guy? The thing with Dorinda/Sonja going after Tinsley having money post-Scott is silly. Doesn't Tins come from wealth? Hello, look at the fabulous Dale! Looks like Bethenny and others may go after Tins at the reunion for not "really living" in NYC since it sounds like she spent a bunch of time back in Florida after they wrapped filming the season. Agreed to another great finale and their genuine affection for one another shines through whether through laughs (Ramona/Dorinda/Sonja), petty digs (Ramona/LuAnn), or frustration (Bethenny, etc./Luann). Don't mess with success; these women can go yet another round intact. ADDED: I had a flashback of years past seeing Dorinda's hair combed back and outfit (very reminiscent of her first year; S7) and Sonja's talking head shot looking very fresh and young like we're back Season 4. Add to that Ramona and LuAnn, and these vets age like fine wine! SIDE NOTE: Watching Real Housewives and then the Democratic debate made for a crazy dream in the middle of the night. I was in NYC (but it looked suspiciously like Chicago) having a sleepover at Dorinda's with Sonja there. But I had to dip out to help Kamala Harris literally put up a stage in some park (Chicago's Grant Park?) and there was technical difficulties (Hi NBC) getting it all together, but Kamala and I persevered! No food fight here!
  10. I haven't seen RHOBH but am so glad to hear the awesomeness of Camille Donatacci Grammer shining through. @alwaysAMC I thought the same thing re: Aviva being cut in specific S6 episodes, but I think Bravo is keeping LVP in because they know viewers are hoping for a glimpse of her, be it new footage at her own fabulous home or in flashbacks. Even in Bravo's bumper promos promoting all their hits, they show LVP's face (for both BH and VR reasons). She's got the star power and viewer interest and they're gonna ride it as long as they can. Yesterday, they re-aired some episodes from Season 5 (LVP, Kyle, Kim, Rinna, Eileen, Yolanda, Brandi), and boy that was one of their last great seasons. Before we got Doritos and Sourpuss Jayne. It's sad to see how chummy the Lisa's were. They looked genuinely amused complimenting one another, ripping on one another playfully... if things had played out different, I could've seen them remaining this way if Rinna wasn't so determined to be top dog and top one-linerer. It was also interesting/sad to see LVP's genuine affection and concern over Yolanda's health. These shows really tear apart solid friendships. At least Rinna and Eileen never had a falling out. Re: RHOP. I echo what others have said about Chris being the perfect househusband to Monique. Those two make such an awesome family.
  11. My heart goes out to LVP...
  12. She has Juan... and you know Andy (and Mr. Darby!) likes that. I agree she offers very little, but she's a decent supporting housewife who has long ties to the Potomac OG's from years before the show began.
  13. Ratings Update: Potomac cracked just over a million viewers on Sunday, with no Atlanta lead-in. Small victories! Also, last week, NYC was inching up, just 100K less than Beverly Hills (1.4m vs. 1.5m), which is dropping. IMO, if ratings reflected quality, it'd be NYC #1, Potomac #2, BH a distant 3rd.
  14. Re: NYC I actually didn't have a problem with Bethenny freaking out on LuAnn. She brought up a lot of valid points, and you could tell the likes of Sonja, Ramona, Dorinda, and Tinsley were all in agreement with Bethenny's points. Was it a tad over-the-top? Well yeah, especially in a public restaurant. That's Housewives for ya Overall, I loved this episode. Lots of fun and drama. LOL at Ramona surprised that Tinsley's on a date. "I'd rather be out on a date too than with you women." ... elsewhere, interesting to see Barbara's rose colored glasses regarding LuAnn have been lifted up. Her mini-meltdown to Bethenny was a tad out of left-field, but I guess it's because we don't get as much of her viewpoint as a "friend of." Yikes, Barbara without any makeup.... Oh my... I wonder why they're pushing the last 2 episodes (and I assume the reunion eps too?) to Thursdays now? Isn't that kind of a dead night for Bravo shows? P.S. With NYC and BH coming up on reunions in the next few weeks, who's coming back next? OC? Dallas? I haven't heard anything regarding OC in quite a while.
  15. I don't see why Luann or Ramona would be on the chopping block unless they are trying a new angle for RHONY altogether. But we saw what happened in season 5 when they uprooted half the cast. LuAnn and Ramona are the two that have been there since day one without ever leaving and they still provide fun, fresh material. To me the RHONY as it's mainly been since season 7 is nowhere near the tired played out dreck that became of New Jersey by season 5 with three years in a row of Caroline-Jacqueline-Teresa-Melissa-Kathy.
  16. Sounds awesome! My hubby actually wanted us to go (and the hubster is NOT even a LuAnn fan!) a couple weeks ago when she appeared in Milwaukee but it was too last-minute. Perhaps in November when she comes to Chicago. Judging from Instagram and trips taken together, I think Ramona and Jill have patched things up. It was disappointing that her presence at the tree lighting ceremony was such a non-factor. Agreed @Cat having Jill on this Miami trip would've been blockbuster. I am SO entertained by their trip. The place they're staying at is gorgeous, Ramona was up to her usual antics of explaining all her outfits to the hired help as they helped her unpack, Sonja was blitzed out of her mind right off the bat, and Dorinda was about to catch up. I thought it was a tad ill-timed for Bethenny to storm into Lu's room and lay into her about her Cabaret behavior. But, I guess she was piggy-backing off of what Drunk Sonja and Slowly-Turning Dorinda were saying. LOL at poor Tinsley always getting the leftovers as the "baby" of the group. I finally love her. What's funny is that she can speak honestly about people (i.e. LuAnn's behavior) yet it doesn't get validated because nobody acknowledges what she says. I loved Ramona lightly dissing Barbara and rolled my eyes at Barbara acting all sour about it. Sorry, but I'm Team Ramona on this one. Babs is kind of a buzzkill. Not Cindy Barshop bad, but meh... This trip is the kind of messy fun that I love and I can't wait for next week. This is gonna go down as one of the best trips, IMO. Yesss!! Forgot to add that to @Antoyne 's comment. And what a perfect view in the pool as the sun set over Miami.
  17. Love. It. 86 years young and still as fabulous as ever
  18. Agreed 100% Just their everyday goofball, zany, bickering is good enough for me. Another night of laughs on last night's eppy. I loved how Ramona and Bethenny bonded and opened up about their abusive childhood upbringings. It's pretty amazing that in their 10+ years of interaction, they've never really dived into that subject together. Those scenes juxtaposed with Luann, Tinsley, and Sonja over at that sad cabaret act was so perfect. Ramona was borderline about to short-circuit with memories of her mom and family, but she held it together and I appreciated Bethenny listening to her, instead of brushing her off. Sonja was drunk the whole evening and next week she gets fall-down messy boots, but I can't wait. That bickering between Dorinda and Ramona at the end of the episode was classic Dorinda and Ramona, but what had me rolling was at the end, when they BOTH diverted their ire towards Sonja when they deduced that she's the one who started it all with her pot-stirring. Hilarious!
  19. Re: Potomac. I don't get the Katie love at all. Seeing her back reminds me of what I hated in Potomac's first season. There's just something that irks me to no end. It's like the lights are on but nobody's home but she left a mannequin at the window to make it seem like someone is. I'd rather we have Charrissee's sloppy ass as a "friend of" because her motives are clear as day. I was surprised at how they built up the Michael drama and then it left us hanging at the end with uncertainty, and next week's previews barely touched upon it. Weird. The New Orleans drama looks messy good though. Re: NYC Interesting to hear they've shortened the season and are dropping a lot of footage. NYC is fortunate enough to be interesting on its own, just watching the women in their daily lives without all the manufactured drama or endless group dinner parties. Whereas some (ATL, BH, OC) could use trimming and others (NJ, Potomac) benefit from shortened seasons, NYC is one I feel could be stretched without it getting stale. I guess we'll see how it shapes up :::shrug:::
  20. Agreed. I watched GH during 2012-2013 when the "Llanview 3" came over, and from then on until around the Spring of 2013, show was really popping (admittedly, I was a sucker for all the OLTL cameos & references, as well as the Port Charles vampire throwback, references to Loving, etc.). His first year at DAYS improved the show, but there was still something lacking; something extra to make it really shine and it never achieved it.
  21. I understand not wanting to attend a day of attacks, but in the end, LVP's got the upper hand. A lie detector test to boot. The expression on Erika's face on WWHL at the clip was a visual version of reading of Trump's reaction to Mueller ("This is the end of my presidency. I'm f#cked"). Mind you, Erika isn't even the offender here -- that goes to Teddi, Dorit, and Kyle (and let's face it, Rinna was relishing in this before it went bad for her side). The fans are on LVP's side. The truth is on her side. Yeah, she'll get barked at (no pun intended) all day long, but in the end, no bites. They tried (again) and failed (again). Lisa Vanderpump will be exhausted at the end of the reunion day, but vindicated and can leave RHOBH on a high note, leaving the bitter hags to figure out who they'll attack next season, and how they will possibly make the show interesting without the Queen. Dorit and Teddi just need to go. I can't stand Teddi and I've never warmed to Dorito. What I find most irritating about BH this season, especially when you compare it to NYC and Potomac (my 2 current faves!!), is that the women are just so damn immature. Like, seeing even the likes of Camille etc. doing Twitter back 'n forth petty arguments, it's like, good grief, y'all are 50+ years old and look like total clowns in these public arguments. It's just not a cute look on them. NY and Potomac are giving me everything I need in these Housewives shows right now. Amidst the drama and arguing, there is so much laughing. Sonja is the comic MVP this season, Tinsley is finally coming into her own with this group (I loved her sideways unders against LuAnn last night when LuAnn and Bethenny started their argument), Ramona is her usual funny self without being too rude, LuAnn's getting too big for her britches but it's funny watching the other women react to her, Dorinda has softened from last year's low... it's just a good, fun, enjoyable season of NYC, IMO. Meanwhile, Potomac has evolved into this must-see show and I can't wait to see the Ashley/Michael chaos play out. EDIT: Hubby & I were surprised at how much we actually enjoyed Porsha's baby special for ATL. We thought it'd be boring or uneventful, but it was actually quite fun. I'll always give her side-eye for the Kandi/drugging lie, but she has rebounded into a funny gal with a half-brain, which is a half-brain more than I ever thought she had.
  22. I laughed when they flashed back to "one minute ago" of their air-kiss greeting LOL
  23. I'm one and a half eppys behind on NYC. Now I'm intrigued. And didn't y'all say something sad happens at the end of last week's show? I liked the Potomac premiere. It's nice and fresh. I like how they began filming within weeks of the reunion show. I pretty much echo what everyone says. Monique the mom-to-be again was fab as always, Candiace had a very real and awkward moment with her mother (which I appreciate her bringing up on camera, even though the mama clearly didn't want to go there with the cameras rolling), The Grande Dame's hair is on point, I guess I'm happy for Robyn & Juan (but is Juan truly happy...?), and Ashley & Michael's foreplay scene reeked of damage control. Hell, they probably filmed that scene long after the butt-grab lawsuit.
  24. That is such a wonderful example to use. Bravo. The real Betty or Meredith Baxter's Betty?
