  1. -- Hope told Liam's kids that he is a "hero." Does Hope know what a hero is? -- I have no idea why we should care that Will is happy about "my brother Liam's brain surgery." -- This actress playing Dr. Grace Buckingham? Not very good. -- Plus the character is dumb. She got a million from $Bill but should have scammed him for a lot more. -- Also releasing Liam from the hospital 35 minutes after his brain operation seems sketchy. -- So glad Liam got to keep all the hair on his head and his facial hair when he underwent brain surgery. -- How much longer before we find out Liam never had a tumor?
  2. Today's episode is a SKIP IT. I don't know why this show thinks we want to see more of this Home shopping network stuff. It's all so bad.
  3. For me, it's not about the target audience here. I just don't think we're getting a relationship between Chelsea and Madison that's based on anything. We know they're hot for each other and that they go to Uptown to gaze at each other. That's it. Madison does not come off like a professional/doctor and Chelsea comes off as vapid as ever. I won't applaud a gay relationship on a show merely because the characters are gay. I need more than that. Yeah, I know -- we have crazy stalker Alison following them around. That's also stupid and a complete 180 from how she was written in with her husband, who's now disappeared. I would also prefer SOME kind of pushback to Chelsea being queer (yeah, I know, she's "fluid."} Why does every single member of her family so easily accept her fluidity and queerness? You mean no one questions her trying to break up Alison's relationship and now moving on to Madison in a lightning-fast way? Look, I'm gay. I get it that it's refreshing to see characters who are unapologetically gay and accepted. But this is a SOAP. Besides, it's just not believable that everyone in their universe would be so accepting. I agree in part, but disagree in part. I have no problem understanding the younger characters even with all that slang thrown in. But that phrase -- "all that slang" -- is the problem. Writers are forcing young characters to use WAY too much slang. It's absolutely forced. Last week, Samantha (who looks like a grown adult using kids' slang, but that's another story) used the word "tea" multiple times. Then Tyrell used the word "tea" when talking to her. Are you kidding me with this? Teenage boys do not talk about "the tea." The crazy thing is that "the tea" isn't slang that's used only by young people. Aback, your post was pretty critical, but I have to agree in essence with many points you made, including this one. I do not think Kenny is dead. His blood would be on too many hands, including Jacob's father. They're not going to bury those characters as killers. Yeah, Martin killed Kenny's brother, but at least that was in self-defense. It's just crazy to me that all these powerful and brilliant men decided the way to get rid of Kenny was to bring in Joey the town mobster. I mean, my God. Yeah, that bothered me, too. I love outdoor remotes, but that did not make sense. Smitty showing up there had me LMAO, and that was followed by Kenny right behind him. They had a brief conversation that went nowhere. What was the point?
  4. I agree that Martin shouldn't be Nicole and Ted's son, but I don't think a twist or retcon would work. That's not what this show is or does. I think they need to flesh out Martin's relationship with his parents instead of ignoring it as they've done for almost 5 months. I have no idea what the show is doing with Ted. They've completely dropped the ball on that character, and I refuse to blame Keith D. Robinson, who is a good actor. It's as if TPTB said "OK, Now we have the actor we want, so we're going to change direction. But we don't know what direction to go in or what we want to do with him."
  5. Sometimes viewers have good ideas for soap characters, but often it's pretty clear why writers are hired and don't listen to viewers.
  6. 😂 You're probably right. BTW, can we agree that Liam never had a brain tumor?
  7. -- Even with all of the criticism here of today's episode (some that I agree with, some that I don't), BTG still had a better week than ANY other soap. No other soap is bringing this level of discussion and disagreement and analysis. -- I don't think writers have treated Nicole unfairly. Many of us (most?) think DD is the star of this show. That's because of her acting, but also because of what they've given her. -- I loved Anita's scenes with Nicole. Excellent acting. I did side with Nicole, but I wonder if writers want me to feel that way. I have A LOT of problems with Anita and Vernon's parenting and control, but something tells me the writers don't see that as big a problem as I do. -- It's a shame we were deprived scenes with Martin confessing to his mother, but the show clearly decided to get out that information through Anita and Nicole. Martin's been heavily featured this week, so I get it. -- For me, Elon isn't coming off as the brightest guy. I have no idea how or why he thinks his warnings to Jacob are helpful to him in any way. -- I look at "Next week on Beyond the Gates" as part of the cliffhanger. That's why I call the cliffhanger a big success.
  8. Yeah, I can tell Frank V is a big Amanda Setton/BLQ fan, but honestly, I don't see the same enthusiasm for Josh Swickard. I just don't see him getting much at all to play.
  9. Ooooooh, BOLD is so edgy and progressive! $Bill used the word "shitty" in dialogue today. How can one not be impressed with the forward thinking on this show?
  10. I hear what you're saying. I think I was just extremely happy with AH as the Lulu recast, and that made me more positive about the character.
  11. I'm good with Lulu, but I understand what you're saying. More than the other soaps, GH takes characters we're with and behind 100% and then does a 180 with them -- leaving us to wonder why we loved them in the first place. That's what they've done with Lulu, and they're also doing it with Gio.
  12. Daniel Goddard is 53 and looks good -- in clothes. No way should he be showing off that pasty white and not very buff body at the pool all the time. What are they doing when they have so many fine guys on this show? In other news, whoever styled Rocco's hair should be fired. It looked terrible.
  13. I get that. That's also why I don't think Smitty should have forced Martin out of the house.
  14. Thank you, Errol!
  15. Today's show wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. -- Spare me all the family platitudes when ALL of this was kept from Nicole and Ted. It's now ours after Kenny's murder and they STILL haven't been told. -- Smitty telling Martin to leave just seems wrong to me. Isn't there more to discuss? To what end is he throwing him out? -- Why tell Samantha and Tyrell ANYTHING if you won't tell them the whole truth? -- Why is Smitty now withholding information from Jacob? -- If everyone in town knows what a bad guy Joey is, why was he brought in? Can't Bill do better as a fixer? Kenny was ONE GUY -- and the dumbest blackmailer I have ever seen. -- Is ANYONE going to pay for any of this??? I wanted the focus to be on the horrific racism we saw, and not on majorly flawed and even evil people getting away with murder.
  16. Yeah, you're right. Now I feel dumb. 😂
  17. Today's episode -- in isolation -- was for the most part excellent. -- Mike Manning was great, but Brandon Claybon was also very good. It's OK for you guys who don't like BC to admit when he has a good day, and that part of the reason MM is so successful is because BC is a good scene partner (and vice-versa). -- The B&W scenes from 2 years ago were simple but very effective. I felt the danger and I felt the racism. I understood the rage. However.... -- I agree with others that we could have been clued into what happened before this instead of secrets, secrets, secrets. It led to us thinking there was more to this than we got. -- I still don't understand Martin not telling Smitty about what happened when sooooo many people knew, including the police and the town mobster. -- I don't know why Martin's mother and father have been so sidelined in his life. -- I don't like Vanessa accepting and even thirsting for the way Joey talks to her and treats her. It's abusive, frankly. I want Joey off my screen. -- I don't know why Joey was ever brought on to handle Martin's case. All of these powerful people (including the police and the best lawyer in town) couldn't get Kenny under control? -- I need to see law enforcement who work with Joey pay for it somehow. And by the way.... -- The episode opened with Anita rejecting a call on her cell. Is that connected to Naomi calling the number she got from June? I don't know why they'd write in that call rejection unless it meant something.
  18. I don't like it, either, but it's not nearly as bad or as annoying as Body & Soul.
  19. Co-head or consultant isn't good enough. Griffith HAS to go to make any change worth it.
  20. Nick: "We can't get a hold of the authorites in Nice." Lily: "So you're calling this a murder?"
  21. Errol, can you explain what "working the booth" entails? What would JFP be responsible for at Y&R?
  22. I don't remember the last time Portia got something right. She makes more wrong decisions and more wrong moves than anyone on this show.
  23. -- The best part of today's show was that Chad wore his tightest jeans. Billy Flynn still got Dat Ass! -- The establishing shot of Rafe's house is as bad as the others. We go from what looks to be a nice-sized ranch home to the kichen that looks like it's 6'x8'. At best. -- I understand plot, plot, plot, but wouldn't Xander hire a nanny to watch the kid during work hours?
  24. No idea, but the whole "unorthodox operation" thing is laughable beyond words. -- This famous surgeon gets there and Buckingham does the cutting? LMAOOOOOO And did you notice that slice she made? It wasn't een straight and true -- but maybe that's because she spent most of her time looking at the famous doctor who barely speaks. -- What was so unorthodox, when all she did was "remove the tumor"? Yeah, these are all rhetorical, because I know none of it makes any sense. -- Was hilarious to see $Bill "praying" -- something I don't ever remember him doing. Great actor that he is, Don Diamont looked up to the skies when he prayed "Save Liam" because we all know that's where Jesus is.
