Maurice Benard was OK in his scene with Gio, but watching that scene with Carly was PAINFUL. MB had no idea where he was or where he was going.

Really disappointed in CBS, who televised the Emmys the past few years. Seems like a missed opportunity to publicize their soaps, especially BTG. It's unreal that CBS/Paramount are unwilling to spend any money here. We'll always have that moment, which I think is the greatest in Daytime Emmy history. Nothing beats Shemar Moore opening the envelope and screaming "THE STREAK IS OVER! SUSAN LUCCI!" From 1999:

I don't have an issue, I have an opinion. I like seeing the joy spread around a little. Stafford is in line for her 4th Emmy while other soap greats have none and/or can't even get a nomination. P.S. I have to add that I think the Daytime Emmys are a JOKE, and I realize I'm complaining about a voting system I think is ridiculous.

-- I get why the writers had Doug leave without Vanessa, but I'm not buying it. Doug has gotten somewhat of a backbone recently, and I don't think that works. -- The heat between Vanessa and Joey is laughable. This guy -- who just went along with everything Vanessa wanted -- is a really bad mobster? GMAFB. -- Randy thought $10k was enough to leave the country? My God.... -- I'm not understanding why Jacob and Smitty can't follow up on the $500k deposit from the sister's sale of the house. They can't follow up because she died? Huh? That doesn't erase the paperwork. -- Jen going psycho? I'm down, but I see no signs they're going there. In fact, she still came across as Basic Stupid White Girl when Dani first sat down and started throwing digs. Wouldn't that have been the time to show a little pushback? A little psycho? -- For me, the psycho in that scene was Dani, who just embarrassed herself. I have a hard time delighting in Dani's "spicy" line to Jen when she comes off as this desperate. -- I know most posters here think Dani decimated Andre today and see Andre as the bad guy, but I just don't agree. What was Dani's goal? Why not just walk away from the guy if he's that bad? -- The games Dani and Andre played were ridiculous, and Basic Ashley was clueless to not see what was going on. A girl going psycho wouldn't be that clueless. -- Martin with that baseball bat? LOLOL Maybe he and Smitty should invest in a dead bolt for that front entrance. That place looks awfully easy to break into. -- Mike Manning was great again today. Smitty and Martin have developed a nice chemistry. -- The fades to commercials were so much better today. Hope that continues.

-- All Peter Bergman needs is a crying scene, and he gets a nomination. -- I love Eileen Davidson, but she has 2 Lead Actress wins, so I'm fine with spreading the joy. Sharon Case and Nancy Lee Grahan both have Supporting Emmys, so I'd like one of them to win. NLG did really nice work in the Sam's Death storyline, and I remember that. I don't recall what SC did last year. -- Stafford has 3 Emmys -- THREE -- including 2 for Lead. Does she really deserve a 4th??? -- MCE has never won, but has been nominated for Lead 3 times in the past 4 years. If she didn't win for the suicide storyline, she shouldn't win now.

No B&B anywhere.

-- Steffy actually kissed Liam on the forehead on his way to surgery? In front of her husband? These people are just ridiculous. -- B&B wins the prize for Worst Operating Room scenes. Did these doctors go to clown school instead of medical school? My favorite moment was at the end of the episode when there was a medical crisis with Luna. How did Li handle it? She screamed "LUNA! LUNA" over and over. Yeah, that'll help.

-- I can't think of a single other 55-year old who has the body that Cameron Mathison has. Dayum. -- Maura West is THE chemistry magnet of daytime. While I'm in this "I can't think" moment, I can't think of a single romantic pairing she couldn't make work. With Ric? It's there. With Cody? Yeah, I see it. -- Steve Burton has done some good work in the past year, but seeing him stand by Sonny as some kind of Enforcer is gagworthy material.

Every year, the Daytime Emmys reminds us why they're considered a joke. Still, I am happy to see Dominic Zamprogna and Paul Telfer on the list, and I'm happy that Thorsten Kaye isn't.

-- Shanice made Derek more than tolerable; she brought out his best acting to date. Plus, this is the hottest he's looked since the show debuted. Now we know who the problem was. -- Basic Ashley is just as bad with Andre as she was with Derek. Her lines are bad, but her line readings are even WORSE. She does nothing but make Ashley look like a complete idiot. -- I still have no idea what Andre is supposed to see in Basic Ashley. -- Andre is a short king, but he said he wears a size 11 shoe. GMAFB. -- We haven't had a Dani meltdown lately, but I hope we get one tomorrow. -- More Shanice + Derek, please. I want to see her sniping at Basic Ashley at the hospital. -- Tyrell playing chess with Kenny at his house? Not only creepy, but not believable. I do not see that kid as being that naive and clueless. == Can someone explain to me why Kenny is still in town? Wouldn't this guy be afraid of being killed? I need this to make sense.

-- These Claire and Victoria "Goodbye to Cole" scenes are really underwhelming. Claire makes it about herself and whether or not she's grieving properly? Jesus. -- And now we're URN SHOPPING??? -- Tessa and Daniel should be banned from Chancellor Park when they have their guitars. That song from Tessa when Mariah got there was soooooo awful. -- How many more times do we have to watch Mariah in those B&W scenes before we find out she used that pillow to smother some ancient guy who kissed her? -- Are Mariah and Tessa ever with their kid? Tessa told a story about Aria -- all offscreen. That was right after Claire told a story about Cole -- all offscreen. -- I do not give a rat's ass if Mariah and Tessa make up. -- Cricket and Danny stopped being interesting 20 years ago. Their scenes are PAINFUL. -- Aside from Cricket and Danny, Society was completely empty. Not a soul in sight.

When did Clifton forget how to act? I mean, that could not have been worse.

These shows NEVER have security when it's needed. That is always ignored, and it's tiresome. -- Jason's defense of Britt was just ridiculous.

Many thanks for this continued educational excellence. Mike Manning is a smoke show. And damn, I still like seeing the waistband of the briefs above the sweats.

-- Joey's casino was closed? And there was a sign saying it was "CLOSED"? I thought casinos were open 24/7. -- Did Randy kill Kenny? I doubt it, but either way, we should have seen Randy/Kenny scenes on screen. If you want me to believe there's real danger to this story, I need to see it -- not have Randy show up and hear Joey say "Good job." -- So all those guys in on Martin's story were also in on Joey deep-sixing Kenny? They had a big secret meeting to come up with "Kill Kenny"? -- Vanessa being in heat for Joey is gagworthy. -- Smitty's scenes were the best of the episode, and Mike Manning gets etra credit for those pumped biceps. -- The Alison story with Chelsea is poorly written. More scenes were needed to build SOME kind of relationship between Alison and Chelsea. We were shown very little: Chelsea getting infatuated with Alison on a couple dates, and that's it. We got NO sign that Alison was taken with Chelsea to that degree. -- Now Alison -- after telling Chelsea she was married and committed -- is all of a sudden in a panic over Chelsea??? Huh??? -- Also bad: Chelsea saying she couldn't cheat on Madison, that she couldn't do that to her when they were in a relationship. Isn't Chelsea the one who didn't give a damn about Alison's marriage? -- What was up with Tyrell's dialogue? Every other word was slang. Talk about overdoing it.

-- I like them together, too. I've read a ton of comments that he's too old for her, that he doesn't look good, that he can't act -- and I disagree with all of that. -- Finn Carr (Rocco) did a really nice job today. -- Laura has become one of the most sickening characters on daytime. Is she under the influence? Girl needs an excuse for sucking up to Mob Sonny. -- The only think more boring than looking at photos of fireworks that people post on social media is watching soap characters watch fireworks. They all look up to the sky and then we get stock footage of fireworks from You Tube.

Crew Morrow is cute, but he isn't hot. He's also no better an actor than Joshua Hoffman, who's bangin' body is definitely missed.

Would be nice to know what you disagree with. Vee didn't say that. You're ignoring the entire context of that post. The fact is that B&B and Y&R are given more grace here in the sense that they are practically IGNORED rather than have their problems aired out and detailed. I've tried to get people to discuss those shows, but almost no one cares enough to do so. With Gates, we're zeroing in on every thing and every little thing. So yeah, when your mess is ignored -- like B&B's is -- that's giving more grace.

I am a BIG Joey B fan from head to toe -- including those cakes!!!
