  1. 5 extras on the Society set today? FIVE???
  2. -- Li should be locked up for infecting the town with Luna and for violating her professional oath. However, we know B&B doesn't lock people up, even when they're murderers. -- It was good seeing Remy and Deke, although that explanation from Remy about why he stalked Electra/the closet was wonky as hell. I didn't expect better from this show, though. -- So glad to see Thomas pretending to accept that 74th marriage between Ridge and Brooke. I hope he makes their lives miserable. -- Just put Eric in a wheelchair and let him drool all day already.
  3. -- I don't mind breaking news. But about 45 minutes to repeat the same information over and over? This is nothing but ass kissing the Trump administration. -- I have no problem with Samantha wanting to talk to June. The problem is making boys and sex the reason for wanting those talks. -- I know we caught only the beginning and end of the show, but June is being written like a cartoon.
  4. The bookstore is going to become a joke of a set. We're going to see the same extras hanging around in there all the time, staring at pages of a book. There's no reason at all for college kids to hang there. I thought the bookstore was something for Julie to do? Apparently she'll be there once a month to dust the World Book Encyclopedia.
  5. -- I did not like today's show at all. -- Isn't Samantha supposed to be 16? Why isn't anyone telling her she shouldn't be having sex, period? Before this, we NEVER got the idea that Samantha was ready for sex. -- She wants advice from JUNE??? June who's been living under an overpass for years and has mental health issues up the wazoo? GMAFB. This is insane writing, and I do not believe for a minute that Samantha would ask June for advice on sex. -- June is in training at Orphey Gene's? Then why no trainer/boss in sight, even when she broke an entire tray full of dishes? -- I am glad to see June's like at the shelter is so good that she has perfect makeup and eyeliner. Oh, and that her teeth are out of a magazine. -- The writing for Ashley and Derek continues to suck in every way. It's so bad it feels like an intentional sabotage. -- And why is Shanice all up in Derek's business and warning him about how he talks to Ashley about his paralysis? Isn't Ashley a frickin nurse? Shouldn't she know? -- I get the fun of having Leslie confront Anita and Vernon, but it's written like a cartoon. Why would they let her in the door at all, let alone into their foyer and then into their living room? They wouldn't. -- Are we really to believe Leslie has the money to tear down a Georgia Victorian and then build another huge house? She doesn't. -- Are we really to believe there's no HOA in and around Fairmont Crest? -- Eva once again pushed out the door by her crazy mother -- and acting as if she has no clue as to what's going on....soon to again be shocked that her mother did something awful. -- I hate it that Ted is sleeping with Leslie. To me, this is nail-in-the-coffin stuff. Yes, marriages overcome cheating, but not when it includes a person like Leslie. -- Just let the Ted and Nicole divorce go through and stop talking about them as a couple. The writers have ruined them. Time for Nicole to hook up with Carlton and be treated like garbage from him.
  6. Exactly right. I do not care about Cricket and Danny at this point, especially since Michael Damian is such an awful actor. -- Speaking of soap opera nostalgia, Josh Griffith and the writers apparently think they were cool to have Phyllis snarkily tell Michael he's good at "breaking through walls." That was clearly a reference to Michael's stalker days when he broke through walls to get at Christine. The rest of the show? Low energy scenes with one character talking to another -- all yawn-inducing.
  7. -- Watching Eric slobber over Ridge marrying Brooke is all you need to know that Eric has full-blown dementia. -- Eric sure knows his grandchildren. On Thomas: "Don't worry, he'll be OK." -- Matthew Atkinson was good today, but I do wonder why he returned. Most people thought he left last time partly because he was unhappy with his character. He followed his exit with trips all over the world and getting married and a bunch of Jesus mentions. Is he back playing psycho Thomas because he needs a paycheck?
  8. Agree with all of this. McKenna looks better, and I also think his losing some weight helped. The role is lousy. Showing this authority is great, but running the WSB as if Joss and Vaughan are your lead employees is laughable. -- The "Dalton Knows About Cold Fusion" story would make me crazy except that Y&R beats it by a mile with the "AI Will Take Over Every Company in Genoa City." -- Why is Stephen A Smith on this show? Is he good friends with Frank or something? In an era of tight budgets, why spend money on a glorified extra like Brick. If this is supposed to elevate the character of Sonny, it doesn't work. I follow sports, so I know Stephen A very well. My guess is that over half of the soap audience has no idea who he is or where he makes his millions, so I don't know who he brings to the show.
  9. He drives me CRAZY! Derek Yates looks much hotter in these photos than he did on DAYS, at least for me.
  10. Many of us thought Keith D. Robinson replaced Maurice Johnson because he (Keith) wasn't available when taping first began. We figured Johnson knew from the jump that he'd be replaced. This article sets that theory to rest, because Robinson says "I think they called me Thursday. I screen-tested with Daphnee on Friday, and then on Monday I was on the mark saying the line...." Something clearly happened for Gates to make this lightning-quick recast. I'm happy with Robinson in the role, but it's crazy that Johnson was replaced when there are so many other actors who are bad, bad, bad. https://parade.com/tv/beyond-the-gates-keith-d-robinson-reveals-how-fast-his-casting-happened
  11. I don't think the Javi story belongs on DAYS. Maybe I'd feel differently if Al Calderon could carry the story, but he couldn't. He was awful in those scenes and there's no way to sugarcoat it.
  12. Nope, you haven't missed a thing. Derek apparently has no familY and no friends and knows no one. It's ridiculous. I understand budget considerations, but having a major character connected to no one doesn't work. Of course, I have a problem with the hospital stuff in general. Just about every patient comes in right past the main desk and goes to the room right beside that desk. Physical therapy? The PT visits the room to do it. Check-ups? The doctor visits the room to do it. We did get Derek in a wheelchair, but what did he do? Rolled around the main desk area.
  13. I agree with you. In no world do Britt and Obrecht come off as the good guys because Lulu and Dante are "smug." Don't get me started with "sensitive, thoughtful" Rocco, who doesn't have any of that sensitivity and thoughtfulness for his damn parents.
  14. Beyond ugly. It's a question of taste, and that entire room is the very definition of tacky. The furniture is tacky, the shelving is tacky, the colors are tacky, the decor pieces are tacky. It's such a huge miss that it has to be intentional, right? Except I don't think it is.
  15. That's why I have a hard time putting stock into these ratings. Look at the HUGE jumps for B&B on Wednesday and Friday. How does that make sense? Why would a much bigger audience tune in on Wednesday, but then skip Thursday? And then return on Friday? Meanwhile, Y&R -- airing just an hour before -- got no huge fluctuation in daily ratings. I don't expect perfection here, but I do expect it to make sense.
  16. Yeah, the age thing is a big problem with Samantha. In addition to your point, isn't Samantha supposed to be 16? Because that young guy looks a lot older than 16. The ages on this show are a mess. -- Kat's reads on this episode were great and spot on. She handled Samantha correctly and I have no problem with her going after Eva. Is she mean? Yes, but let's not pretend Eva has anything but ulterior motives. She DOES want Tomas and she DOES enable her criminal mother. -- I think Kat would've come off better if she didn't have on that ridiculous outfit today. That hat was too much. -- Tomas is a frickin moron. I want Kat to dump his ass. -- Dani looked great today. -- Bill having a talk with Chelsea and Naomi in Naomi's bedroom was ridiculous. -- Why was Andre at the hospital at all? Conveniently running into Ashley there is LOL writing. -- The Ashley/Derek story is a disaster. If this is MVJ loving Jen Jacob, I don't want to see the story for an actor she doesn't love. -- I'm glad to see Jan, but Ashley having that nonsensical conversation with her mother is filler garbage. She talks about all these hopes and dreams and fire and energy with Andre. What the actual fcuk? They went on one date and he did a Dollar Store decoration of his apartment to pretend it was Paris. THAT'S her exciting future with him? -- Ashley goes back and forth between Derek and Andre like she's choosing ice cream flavors. The problem is I have no idea what she wants and expects from either of them or from a relationship in general. -- That bedroom scene with Ted and Leslie better be a bad dream. I do not want them together. I do not want Ted to be written as that stupid.
  17. Thank you. None of It plays as realistic or authentic.
  18. Your entire list is spot-on, and @j swift perfectly explained the mess we got today. The entire episode was a WTF to me, including Al Calderon's horrendous attempt at grief. I wouldn't want to see his story played out on screen, but it sure doesn't work when it all happens off-screen either.
  19. Rocco's concern for Britt is on my last nerve.
  20. I agree. It's absolutely awful. I started tracking, because in my head it felt as if we weren't getting many sets per day. The results prove that the truth is even worse than I thought.
  21. I reported the set usage last week, so I thought I'd keep it up for the month of September.Here's the set usage for this week: Mon., 9/8: Crimson Lights / Billy's place / Society / Victor's office -- 4 sets Tues., 9/9: Crimson Lights / Park set 1 / Park set 2 -- 3 sets Wed., 9/10: Crimson Lights / The Abbotts / Society / Park set 1 -- 4 sets Thurs., 9/11: Crimson Lights / Society / The Abbotts / Billy's place -- 4 sets Fri., 9/12: Park set 1 / Society / Victor's office / Adam's office / Cane's Train / Billy's -- 6 sets For the week: 4 days -- Crimson Lights / Society 3 days -- Chancellor Park / Billy's place 2 days -- The Abbotts / Victor's office 1 day -- Cane's Train / Adam's office In TWO FULL WEEKS, only 9 total sets have been used. NINE. Only 8 were used this week. Here's The running total for 2 weeks: 8 days -- Crimson Lights / Society 6 days -- Park 5 days -- The Abbotts 4 days -- Billy's place 3 days -- Victor's office 2 days -- Cane's Train / Adam's office / The Newmans
  22. -- It's almost comical that Tomas is in situations (first with Eva, now with Hayley) that could cost him his partnership with Bill's law firm. Is he that dumb and clueless? -- Hayley is such a child. Having a friend like Caroline who leads her into mess (and then says "You really don't have to do it") doesn't help. -- I really don't want to see Vanessa and Joey banging on that Cracker Barrel casino room poker table again. I want to gag every time she moves to take off his shirt. -- I know most people here think Doug will be killed off before long, but I'd rather see Doug take out Joey. -- Derek should be out of the hospital by now. Garland must be known for keeping patients long past when any other hospital would send them home. -- Madison's "check up" of Derek's paralysis was LOL material. And what's with the PT bing done from his hospital bed? -- Giving Derek and Ashley dialogue that makes them again seem like a couple who never had problems is a choice. They're as boring as ever.
  23. DAYS has been better, but the Babies Rabies is too much.
  24. I agree with you -- she's been awful. But 😂. Didn't you just (indirectly) respond to me when I criticized Crew Morrow's acting, saying you don't GAF and implying that some of us overdo the criticism? Since then, you've bashed the acting of at least 2 people. Glad to see you've come around!
