  1. That whole episode felt like the filmed segments of Sesame Street to me.
  2. I've been mad about Kristina's death for 17 years now so this feels like cathartic.
  3. Awww she looks great, she’s lost weight (I hope that was a choice and not illness) and looks more like an ages version of Laura Spencer here than she ever did on B&B.
  4. @BoldRestless Those episodes are magical. I started watching the show only a few months after they aired (Cole was gone by the time I tuned in). It's so odd looking back how they had Victoria in triangles with women so much older than her. Heather Tom is a very mature actress but she looks like a kid. Also this Vicky is so far removed from who we have now and they never ever reference her life from before Amelia Heinle took over (she was married more than once, widowed, had a stillbirth, with the recast it's like they got a clean slate). They may as well not be the same character.
  5. A teenager coming on to the psycho more than twice her age who had her cloned from the DNA of his dead wife. Very sexy, CBS.
  6. Hahaha, watching that promo prompted me to look up the show and her return and wow they really sold a bill of goods there. Also she was only back for a WEEK apparently?
  7. This is...ridiculous. No way did whatever they did live up to the dramatics of this promo, it just couldn't.
  8. The quality in that first EE promo is out of this world. I don't think that story was very well received though.
  9. I think that's Janice Dickinson (model and former ANTM judge) at the end of that commercial puckering at the TV.
  10. Watching that promo and another Loving promo from the 80s the other day where two characters say "abortion" in the space of 10 seconds reminds me of how puritanical soaps have become. We don't even get love scenes between two consenting adults, hot ones anyway. Today's soaps are completely static. There's no vibrancy to any of the scenes, no one TALKS about anything, every reaction to any event is lethargic. All of the actors look tired and bored out of their minds. There was more authenticity and emotion in that 5 second clip of Karen and Larry on the couch than 39 minutes of Y&R.
  11. "When Victor was getting nailed, where were YOU?" I always enjoyed the orgasmic moans behind these promos.
  12. LW doesn't look or act like a woman who has ever had to fight or work very hard to get things in life, she seems 100% entitled to everything she has. SB's Carly looked like she had a hardscrabble upbringing, she carried herself like a bulldog that was always ready to bite if you got too close.
  13. Soaps could be our comfort food right now but all it is is death, rape and redeeming serial killers! There is not one heartwarming moment left in any of these shows.
  14. I maintain it's the characters who don't have a rabid fanbase, with people sending letters and launching campaigns to get them featured more, that keep a soap going. Catering to the psychos who harass TPTB to show more Manny or Richard or whoever is what has killed daytime because even with Edmund/Jeffrey/Cyrus (???) featured every [!@#$%^&*] day PEOPLE WERE TURNING AWAY IN DROVES. It's those stalwart characters who you know will still be around in some incarnation is what keeps people coming back over the years. And that doesn't even apply entirely to Maureen but she still at her relatively young age she filled a similar role in the show. You can't take these characters for granted and daytime does so so often. God, if all we wanted to see every day was a bunch of Todd Mannings running around causing havoc we'd turn on the news.
  15. I love you. Wow that ATWT promo really shows the ABC-ification of CBS at the time (that song If You're Not The One by Daniel Bedingfield was also added to my rotation at the time due to that commercial...or maybe it was used in a Danny/Michelle scene on GL? I can't recall). The Liz/Jason/Zander promo is great too even though I don't care for either pairing. Good. Because it's bad and I hate it.
  16. No, it's definitely not that because I only heard the song in the early 2000s and I could swear it was part of a daytime campaign. The only time NBC had decent promos was the campaign for Passions (which was not representative of the show AT ALL). These were sexy, glossy, high quality, the exact opposite of everything Passions represented. How long did the Get It On campaign last for CBS? And the Everything is Everything campaign? They're VERY similar. Oh wow was this a real promo? It's horrible and cheap looking.
  17. Ha! That discussion prompted me to look up a bunch of old promos this morning. This is my favorite ABC daytime promo of all time featuring one of my favorite couples. They DON'T EVEN TOUCH and it's sexier than well most everything else in daytime today. This whole campaign was great. I didn't care about the show even a little bit but I loved when ABC had the budget to get a Madonna (?!) song for their bottom of the ratings soap opera. And the Tainted Love promos were the first time I'd ever heard the song and I instantly loved it. Does anyone remember which promo used this song?
  18. Thanks @Khan I have a feeling NBC’s was a one off.
  19. Was that promo created before or after ABC's love in the afternoon campaign? Also the Another World part of that is so bizarre, it's just Rachel and Steve staring at each other. In fact I think Rachel's first shot is a still image.
  20. I'd watch! Sounds better than all those stupid Allison Sweeney movies.
  21. She's adorable. And I never noticed her resemblance to Vanessa Marcil until just now.
  22. Thanks for that. The amount of effort that was put into a crap scene/idea/story shows just how hard people in front of and behind the camera work on a soap. I didn't like the way Robin played Dorian for much of her last years on the show, way too hysterical. Now I see how much of that was a choice. Because when she was herself she was closer to the Dorian I would have preferred to see. Not this easily irritated old lady she became. And more from that channel, not sure if it's been posted before, a tribute to long time OLTL director David Pressman: Lots of behind the scenes stuff here. He was a legend and I didn't even know who he was until an hour ago.
  23. I think I found the start of the second day in Harmony. 26 episodes in.
  24. I've seen this one and the second one but I can't seem to find the first part of this series on her channel.
