So after reading this thread I've been watching a lot of AW clips. Never got a chance to watch this show when it was on. I'm blown away by Lorna (Alicia Coppola, I haven't seen Robin Christopher yet) and Felicia's relationship. They have amazing chemistry and the story is so well told. Question, I looked up Felicia's other daughter Jenna and saw that she left in 1993 and never came back. Was she ever mentioned again? Also when Lorna was revealed Felicia's daughter there were a lot of references to their resemblance, was this brought up again when she was recast? Because RC is a pale redhead and looks nothing like Dano.

"Perhaps you didn't hear Joseph, I'm not receiving tonight which means please leave!" My god, what a scene! They are both fabulous here. It's so well written. Which creative team was this? And is that Alexandra's house or the Spaulding mansion? It actually looks...large and not the one library set their used for the last 10 years. Even simply things like Alexandra acknowledging the generational differences between herself and Reva (when she talks about how you can't drink or smoke while pregnant now) adds so much to the characters. Now people on soaps are ALL in the general age range of 25-40. You can have Jack on Y&R talking about the same concerns as someone 40 years younger than him. It's so stupid.

At the time I loved Rose, I was drawn into the show by the spa storyline, but looking at clips now I find Martha Byrne 1000% obnoxious. With that accent, that hair, those clothes. I can't imagine how long time viewers felt about all that. That said, I loved her with Scott Holroyd's Paul. I see he was only on the show for 2 years. Why'd they let him go? He was great. Roger Howarth was seriously miscast and frankly he hasn't given a good performance since 1998. Speaking of bad recast, I don't even know the actress' name but whoever they cast as Alison after Jessica Dunphy was a mistake. JD was green but super earnest in the role and made a pretty underwritten part into someone you could root for. I loved her and Aaron. I don't understand ANY of the choices they made with that character when they had her and Amber being cam girls or whatever in order to make Daniel cheat on Lily with porn. WTF was that even.

Thanks @Khan! I'm sure I've told this story before but I didn't even know other soaps than the ones on ABC existed until 1999 and GL was the first. I think my first episode was the one where Phillip and Beth were trapped on the mountain after the plane crash. Was that in San Cristobel? Actually where WAS San Cristobel? The caribbean? I remember Reva drowning for an entire episode. It was weird as hell. Anyway, my first impressions of the show was that everyone was blonde and it looked cheap. That never really changed.

Does anyone know the first episode with Peapack? What was that transition like? Was a Friday show in the studio and then Monday suddenly everyone is in the woods?

Such a gross promo. "The show you didn't think we'd dare do!". Yeah, rape a lesbian. It's the show no one WANTED you to do. Question, how long did Erica have Maddie for?

I loved this promo campaign. (I REMEMBER Tina but I can't remember anything ABOUT her) And there's one in the background of this David Canary interview that I wish I could find because it looks like Adam is wearing an eyepatch (!).

I love this! I never accepted Bree Williamson and what they did to Jessica. It’s shocking how lazy the writing became. Jessica disassociated how many times in the last decade?

His in particular or all of them? I’m not Jamaican but I’m around the accent a lot and I thought his and Bushmaster’s were good. Anansi’s too. His wife not so much.

Meghann Fahy (Hannah, OLTL) is one of the leads on Freeform’s The Bold Type (its fantastic, watch it!) and she is quite good. Very charismatic. She’s also apparently dating Billy Magnussen (Casey, ATWT). Sean Ringgold (Shaun, OLTL) is again on this season of Luke Cage with a much more sizeable role an what looks like an even bigger part for next season. This next actor is also on this season of Luke Cage and I can’t believe I even spotted him considering I didn’t watch Guiding Light during any of his tenure but Kevin Mambo (Marcus) is one of the antagonists this season. He’s very good and his Jamaican accent is top notch. It’s funny that GL had two very successful black actors in the mid-90s in the form of Marcus and David Grant and squandered both. We see this repeated with the treatment of Mishael Morgan (and every other black actor on daytime) 20 years later.

Meghan Markle (nurse #3, GH) just married Prince Harry. And Abigail Spencer (Becca, AMC) was one of her guests.

Out of all of that horribleness the part that got me was him filing for bankruptcy at age 22. What’s that about? He’s cute but not that cute, how do people fall for this stuff?

The OLTL cast always seemed closer than other casts. It’s nice that all seem to still get along.

I learned this week that Michael B. Jordan and Chadwick Boseman both played Reggie on All My Children. They’re currently starring as rivals in (the exquisite and essential) Black Panther. Yet another example of how soap operas have squandered black talent.

It makes you wonder why she even wants to be on the show. She doesn't need it, they don't care about Laura and it's absolute garbage. But it's something to do I guess?

When I saw their names I was worried this was about a divorce. I bet those ST residuals and convention fees are bringing in the bank. Along with Genie's Hallmark movies. Because you know GH doesn't pay sh!t.

She probably had work. And I KNEW her name only had one E...goddammit.
