  1. In my opinion, the writing for the Dupree characters are not affected by writers lacking "fairness" or showing "favoritism" or "bias". It's *not* the job of a writer to give each character equal focus. It's the job of a writer to tell stories, with good characterizations that are naturally part of the stories. I do agree that Nicole's and Ted's points of view have been lacking to some degree. But I don't think that's about "fairness" or "favoritism" at all. Nicole is one of my favorite characters and I stand up for her, but I don't think the writers are treating the Nicole character unfairly. I do think that the writing is *intentionally* planned to show how Anita and Vernon try to dominate everyone, and that this is *supposed* to show that they do this to their offspring. That's part of the characterization of Anita and Vernon. If anything, I think it's intended to emphasize that Anita and Vernon are the ones being unfair, and patronizing to Nicole. The only focus I object to is the focus on Joey Armstrong, and I do think that's partially because Guza liked mob stories but also because MVJ is friends with Lindstrom; and Lindstrom himself is interested in mob stories, per the novels he's written.
  2. Tues. July 22: "Hayley has a life-changing surprise to show Bill." I wonder what this is?
  3. https://x.com/MicheleValJean/status/1946307578499395941
  4. Anita omitted telling Nicole about Bill, Marcel Malone, Joey Armstrong, and Chief Hawthorne -- all being part of the coverup. When Nicole hears about that, she'll be amazing, again.
  5. Well the next on BTG preview at the end of Friday's episode indicates that Nicole will go off
  6. "Next on BTG" for week of July 21-25 Nicole: *I* am the fixer now!
  7. Yes! So true! Everything Nicole said was spot on.
  8. It was interesting that for me as a viewer, when Anita was telling Nicole about the attack two years ago, I learned a few more details than how Martin described it to Smitty. Edit: well not new details, as we already knew all this from what Martin saw and described. . . but rather, Anita's spoken word description details along with with the visuals of Martin's full flashback of it all -- made it more of a full depiction for me.
  9. yes! Nicole was magnificent and oh so right in everything she said!
  10. this! There is real human suffering. I don't want the news turned into a "scandalous" soapy reality show to get clicks.
  11. Samantha just pointed that out today to Smitty, and asked Smitty to promise to at least keep talking to Martin -- not asking for reconciliation yet but at least communication. Smitty agreed.
  12. Anita had better tell Nicole everything. If Anita tries to put a spin on it, I will be upset! I want Nicole to know it all. Looking forward to the strong fierce queen Nicole taking it all in, and then raging out. I believe she's strong enough!
  13. Jon Stewart is very into both-sides-ism. I had to stop watching him because of that.
  14. Yes @Errol had the scoop! Errol posted his article about BTG writer changes including Carlivati, at 12:37pm PDT, July 18. Carlivati announced on instagram stories at 3:00pm PDT, July 18, which was at same time as Deadline article at 3:01pm PDT. (While the IG story was still up on RC's account, I checked the sourcecode of the timestamp of his IG story).
  15. tvinsider interview with Ms. Tamara Tunie and Ms. Daphnée Duplaix, published July 17, 2025. Beyond the Gates’ Stars React to New Soap's Success, 5 Months After its Debut The text article says nothing new. The real interview is its embedded video. Thankfully the embedded video is also on the tvinsider youtube channel. https://www.tvinsider.com/1203214/beyond-the-gates-tamara-tunie-daphnee-duplaix-interview-new-soap-ratings/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibZD3mCghxs
  16. July 17, 2025: Alan Locher interviews DAYS nominees Greg Rikaart, Ashley Puzemis, Linsey Godfrey, Paul Telfer, AnnaLynne McCord, and Emily O'Brien.
  17. The rich, white, wealthy, straight, and men in power want to want is to take rights, funds, and healthcare away from anyone *not* rich, white, wealthy, straight, and male. Many will die as result of these policies -- which is what they want. The rich, white, wealthy, straight, and men in power also want to destroy Mother Nature so that there is no planet Earth for anyone to live on anymore. They will fixate on any news story that distracts from the death and destruction they are wreaking.
  18. I didn't even realize that Kenny and his brother had a gun until yesterday when I saw the flashback clip slowed down, and then rewatched that scene on PPlus later. Is the gun new to the viewers' knowledge of the storyline? I didn't know about it until yesterday's flashback -- was it mentioned before? So many things for Jacob to investigate, piece by piece, with his dad likely trying to stop him.
  19. Yes Nathan and Nina were biological cousins who were raised as siblings and considered themselves siblings.
  20. We haven't been told what ever happened to the body of Kenny's brother. I am reminded of Sergeant Voight of the show "Chicago PD", who buries bodies of criminals he has killed. I assume that Marcel Malone buried Kenny's brother somewhere. Martin telling the kids the "sanitized version" of what happened. That's weird but I understand it -- for the time being. Martin told the kids that he beat up Kenny in defense of Vernon, but Martin omitted telling them that he beat Kenny so bad that he needed plastic surgery and that the face they knew Kenny by was not his original face. Kenny's death will be "officially" explained as a shooting during a robbery, and Martin thinks that will be the end of it. I assume Martin and Vernon don't know what happened to the body of Kenny's brother, nor do they want to know. I appreciate that Martin told Kenny that he'd killed the brother. But I guess Martin wasn't ready to tell the kids he'd killed someone. Ideally, Martin would have told Smitty first, long ago, and then Martin and Smitty could have taken the time to discuss privately between the two of them how/what to tell their kids. But this was happening all at once today, so Martin omitted that he killed someone, even though it was in self defense. And completely omitted the *existence* of Kenny's brother being there that night. But we know Jacob is suspicious of the the story behind the unidentified body, whom we the audience know is Kenny. Jacob will want to do a DNA test on the body to help identify him. Jacob will eventually learn who he is and that he has a missing brother ... but that could go on for weeks ... Eventually Martin *will* have to tell the kids that he killed someone.
  21. Today's Thursday. Canada gets "next week on Y&R" at the end of Thursday episodes. USA usually gets the Next week preview on Y&R, BTG, and B&B at the end of Friday episodes. (except when preemptions throw it off)
  22. Connie Francis -- Fallin'
  23. Fairman interviews Rory Gibson. He says he originally auditioned for Vaughn. Rory has maintained his friendship with Joshua Morrow from Y&R and they socialize in person monthly along with Joshua's son Crew Morrow of B&B. Rory gives a great interview about his approach to the character of Michael. And working with Jane Elliot.
