In the dialogue today between Martin and Vernon, it was confirmed that Martin was merely defending himself against a hate crime. And Vernon wanted it covered up because people might not understand. Joey and Bill will try to stop Martin from speaking the truth at his press conference today, but I hope Martin goes through with it.

I really like Martin being his own man, finally.

I think the only way through this is for Martin to go ahead with his press conference. He can tell the truth and maybe lose his seat in Congress, but he'll have his integrity (and sanity) restored, and his family will be no longer harassed. The kids will get teased about it but at least they'd be safe. Vernon and Anita micromanaging messes end up just making things worse.

October 19, 2023 Patrick Stewart (from Star Trek etc.) was in the Old Vic Touring Company in England with Vivian Leigh. Patrick tells Conan O'Brien that he(Patrick) attended a re-release of Gone With the Wind in a movie theater, seated next to Vivian Leigh and her boyfriend, and she cried. When Haley ordered the food today at Orphey Gene's, I was just so glad that menu items were being named. I think I mentioned a few months ago that I wanted to see Orphey Gene's Soul Kitchen's menu mentioned when customers order food, to make it a distinct place and not a generic diner.

I had actually considered that there could be a separate thread for "all" current soaps: Do current soap actors *realistically* have the time to take acting lessons and improve their skills? And even for seasoned soap actors: are they *realistically* able to keep their skills sharp or do they rely on simply memorizing their lines to get by, not realizing that their acting skills might be slipping? (I mean Clifton Davis and Tamara Tunie are all in, but it's not always the case on other shows). Anyhow, topic for a separate thread, if anyone wants to start one.
