Michael Fairman interviewed the nominees live on July 10th Three hours and 26 minutes total. Fairman said some actors couldn’t make it due to short notice. Eric Martsolf is there, although he's not listed in the YT description. They were on the live interview in this order: 1. Peter Bergman 2. Sharon Case 3. Eric Martsolf 4. Melissa Claire Egan 5. She seems to be following the Transatlantic pronunciation rules outlined in the video; but it doesn't seem to flow naturally. Meryl Streep was able to take on a special accents for films and make it believable. I adore Cady but she's not Meryl. Cady's accent needs more rehearsal and *consistency* -- if she wants it to sound like this is how Pamela naturally speaks.

Thank you for posting this. I'd never heard the term "transatlantic accent" before, so I looked it up. Found several different definitions. This seems to fit what you're saying?

I've seen this debated in past years similarly . . . If it were based on the actor's entire year's performances then the category should reflect the character's relative importance on the canvas. [not implying that the Julie character is unimportant/important to the canvas.] But if were based on the character's importance within a story arc or within the episodes that the actor's submission reel is derived from -- then someone might consider themself a lead in the scenes being submitted? Is that true or not? I gather actors can choose to submit as lead or supporting? I mean Leo Stark is certainly not a lead character on the Days canvas. But maybe Rikaart considered himself to be a lead in the scenes he submitted?

All of you here at SON already know all of this, of course. I'm not posting anything new in this post, LOL. I'm just posting as a way to vent out to the universe here: The actor nominations aren't for performances in storylines. They are nominations for reels of a few scenes cherrypicked from the entire eligibility year. (Different years have had different rules as to the amount of scenes and minutes that can be on the actor submission reel.) A person could have done lackluster acting in 99% of what aired all year. But they can still submit their few good scenes spliced into a reel. The nominations for best show and best writing aren't for storylines. They are usually for two episodes of the entire eligibility year. So a show might have 248 crappy episodes in the year, but they can still submit the two good episodes. The entire process seems meaningless to me. /end rant

Update: that photo of Lily looking shocked at Cane sitting on her traincar bed --- it was a dream! From Thurs. July 10 US (Wed. July 9 CDN) Lily dreams that she's in bed with Damian and kissing him and suddenly he morphs into Cane. She awakens annoyed. What actually happnens: Upon awakening, Lily throws on her bathrobe and walks out into the maze. She sees Damian and they talk about Cane and what she wants now. She tells him she wants a new direction in her life and kisses him. She tells him that she really likes him and had been wanting to kiss him again. Cane walks by in the maze and sees them kissing but doesn't not approach. Damian and Lily walk away. Cane sits at a table in the maze and drinks angrily. Damian walks Lily back to her traincar. She invites him to stay, and she drops garments and affirms that she is sure. PHOTOS: Lily in the purple pajamas is dreaming. Damian with Lily wearing the white embroidered robe over the purple, is real. (ignore the commentary from the three websites -- they are just speculating about what's happening in the photos) photos from SOD (Link) from soaphub (Link) and from soapcentral (Link) The episode is mostly Danny proposing to Christine with LOTS of flashbacks to moments in their romantic history. There are also scenes of Chelsea visiting Victoria to pay condolences. But we do get Lily/Damian.

Today (Wed) was phenomenal. I was completely transported out of my life and into the BTG world (which is how good drama should be) For me today was like watching a movie. So many pieces interwoven, and the intensity. Just Wow.

(my quoting seems messed up, so I'll just type it out) In Sarapa's June 30 tweet (Link), he says there is a Y&R habit of hiring someone's replacement before firing them, such as bringing in a new supervising producer and then a few months later they are EP. Sarapa's July 8 tweet (Link) referred to a DConfidential podcast from July 2012 about JFP replacing MAB. @cassadine1991 quoted those tweets and asked "What does everyone make of this?" ----------------------- ----------------------- my reply: In my observations of Y&R regime changes over the past 12 years, yes that's sometimes true, that, before firing an EP, someone else is first brought in as a supervising producer (or other position) and then a little while later promoted to EP. However the addition of JFP to the staff *this* time is apparently not about that? Fairmont Crest is in Prince George's County, Maryland. Some of the characters work inside the D.C. city limits - the police department and the hospital are within D.C, per the original descriptions of the show released before it began airing.

Katelyn MacMullen discusses today's Willow reveal. No spoilers, just a mention of what aired today. The actress wasn't told at first that it was her character doing these things. Katelyn had wondered what was happening with Sasha. Later Katelyn was told.
